Description

本開示の1つの態様は、押し出し式デジタル製造システムにて使用する消耗材料に関する。消耗材料は、長さと、前記長さの少なくとも一部に沿った表面パターンとを含む。前記表面パターンは、押し出し式デジタル製造システムの駆動メカニズムと係合するように構成される。この局所的(topographical)表面パターン(立体的表面パターン)は、前記消耗材料の外面の少なくとも一部において、0.01ミリメートルから1.0ミリメートルの間の長さスケールで2より大きいフラクタル次元数を提供する。
本開示は、押し出し式デジタル製造システムにて使用するモデリング材料および支持材料のフィラメントなどの消耗材料に関する。消耗材料は、フィラメント駆動メカニズムが消耗材料の連続した各部分を係合させて液化装置内におよび/または液化装置を通過するように駆動することを可能にする局所的表面パターンを有する。以下に説明するように、局所的表面パターンを有する消耗材料は、高いプロセス信頼性および成形品品質で3Dモデルおよび支持構造体を構築するのに好適である。
Claims (15)
- 押し出し式デジタル製造システムにて使用する消耗材料であって、前記消耗材料は、長さと、前記押し出し式デジタル製造システムの駆動メカニズムと係合するように構成された、前記長さの少なくとも一部に沿って延びる複数のトラックとを含み、前記複数のトラックは、前記消耗材料の外面の少なくとも一部において、0.01ミリメートルから1.0ミリメートルの間の長さスケールで2より大きいフラクタル次元数を提供することを特徴とする、消耗材料。
- 前記消耗材料は、非円筒形の幾何学的形状を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の消耗材料。
- 前記非円筒形の幾何学的形状は、幅と厚さを有する断面プロファイルを含み、前記幅の前記厚さに対するアスペクト比は、2:1よりも大きいことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の消耗材料。
- 前記複数のトラックは、矩形トラック、放物線状トラック、ウォーム型トラック、波形トラック、模様付きトラック、ファイル刻印型トラック、ヘリンボーン型トラック、スプロケットトラック、端部に面したトラック、互い違いに配置されたトラック、およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1から3の何れか1項に記載の消耗材料。

- 前記消耗材料は、前記押し出し式デジタル製造システムにおける湾曲した経路での湾曲面の前記消耗材料の断面厚さを「t」とし、前記湾曲した経路において前記消耗材料が受ける曲げ半径を「r」とすると、t/rの弾性歪みに耐えることができるように構成された可撓性を発揮することを特徴とする、請求項1から5の何れか1項に記載の消耗材料。
- 前記複数のトラックは、前記消耗材料の非トラック箇所における平均断面積の少なくとも5%である平均断面積を有することを特徴とする、請求項1から6の何れか1項に記載の消耗材料。

前記消耗材料の前記複数のトラックを駆動メカニズムの歯と係合させる工程と、
前記駆動メカニズムにより、前記消耗材料の連続した部分を液化装置に供給する工程であって、前記駆動メカニズムの連続した歯は、前記消耗材料の前記連続した部分を供給する間、前記複数のトラックの連続したトラックと連続的に係合する、工程と、
前記液化装置において、前記消耗材料を融解する工程と、
前記液化装置から前記融解した消耗材料を押し出す工程と、
前記3次元モデルの少なくとも一部を形成するために、前記押し出された消耗材料を層状に堆積する工程と、
を含む方法。 - 前記消耗材料は、非円筒形の幾何学的形状を有することを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記複数のトラックは、矩形トラック、放物線状トラック、ウォーム型トラック、波形トラック、模様付きトラック、ファイル刻印型トラック、ヘリンボーン型トラック、スプロケットトラック、端部に面したトラック、互い違いに配置されたトラック、およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項9または10に記載の方法。
- 前記消耗材料は組成的に、熱可塑性材料、非晶質金属合金、およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの材料を含むことを特徴とする、請求項9から11の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記押し出し式デジタル製造システムに前記消耗材料を供給する工程は、前記消耗材料を前記押し出し式デジタル製造システムにおける湾曲した経路に供給するものであり、
前記消耗材料は、前記湾曲した経路での湾曲面の前記消耗材料の断面厚さを「t」とし、前記湾曲した経路において前記消耗材料が受ける曲げ半径を「r」とすると、t/rの弾性歪みに耐えることができるように構成された可撓性を発揮することを特徴とする、請求項9から12の何れか1項に記載の方法。 - 前記消耗材料は、幅と厚さを有する断面プロファイルを含む非円筒形の幾何学的形状を有し、前記幅の前記厚さに対するアスペクト比は、2:1よりも大きいことを特徴とする、請求項9から13の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記複数のトラックは、ヘリンボーン型トラックを含むことを特徴とする、請求項14に記載の方法。
