Claims (5)
- 非偏波多重の信号光と、前記信号光とは異なる波長である偏波多重の信号光を伝送する光伝送装置であって、
希土類イオンをドープした増幅媒体を用いることで波長多重信号光を増幅する光増幅器と、
前記光増幅器の増幅帯域の偏波ホールバーニング帯域内に含まれる短波長側に偏波多重された信号光の波長を出力する第1の送信器と、
前記光増幅器の増幅帯域の偏波ホールバーニング帯域外である長波長側に非偏波多重された信号光の波長を出力する第2の光送信器と、
入力された前記非偏波多重の信号光および前記偏波多重の信号光が合波された波長多重信号光を前記光増幅器に入力する合波器と、
を備える伝送装置。 - 前記第1の送信器を複数備え、
前記合波器は、前記複数の第1の光送信器から前記偏波多重の信号光を入力し、前記増幅帯域の短波長側において、波長の異なる前記複数の偏波多重の信号光を割り当てた状態で、前記複数の偏波多重の信号光と前記非偏波多重の信号光とを合波することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の伝送装置。 - 前記合波器は、前記偏波多重の信号光が割り当てられる波長帯域と前記非偏波多重の信号光が割り当てられる波長帯域との間を所定の波長帯域だけ離した状態で、前記偏波多重の信号光と前記非偏波多重の信号光とを合波することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の伝送装置。
- 前記合波器は、強度変調方式により変調された非偏波多重の信号光を前記増幅帯域の長波長側に割り当て、位相変調方式により変調された偏波多重の信号光を前記増幅帯域の短波長側に割り当てた状態で、前記偏波多重の信号光と非偏波多重の信号光とを合波することを特徴とする請求項1、2または3に記載の伝送装置。
- 信号光の偏波状態により信号利得とASE利得が異なる偏波ホールバーニング帯域を有するとともに、該偏波ホールバーニング帯域内において信号光の波長数に応じて信号利得とASE利得が変化する、希土類イオンをドープした増幅媒体を用いる光増幅器と、
偏波多重による変調方式により変調された偏波多重の信号光と、非偏波多重の信号光を出力することが可能であり、前記偏波ホールバーニング帯域に少なくとも1つの前記偏波多重の信号光を割り当てる複数の光送信器と、
前記複数の光送信器からの信号光を合波し、光学的に結合した前記光増幅器に出力する合波器と、
を有する伝送システム。
