Description
電気化学的な蓄電用の電池はしばしば、露出すると人や物を危険にさらす可能性がある攻撃性の物質を含むことが多い。エネルギー蓄積器の中には、そのような危険の他にさらに、使用される電解質が可燃性であるため火災や爆発の危険もある電池もあり、たとえばリチウムイオン(「Liイオン」)電池ではそのような危険がある。それゆえ公知の電池やキャパシタは、予測される機械的負荷にも、電池の被覆部が損傷することなく電池やキャパシタが耐え、危険物質がエネルギー蓄積器の周辺に流出するのを防止するように構成される。
電池やキャパシタ等であるエネルギー蓄積器やエネルギー蓄積器の電解質の火災や爆発の危険性は、エネルギー蓄積器の充電状態に依存する。テストを行った結果、電解質が露出したときのエネルギー蓄積器の充電状態の低下の割合が小さいと、変形しても火災または爆発による損傷を回避できる場合が多いことが判明した。
図1に、保護装置100をブロック回路図で示す。処理装置110がセンサ120に接続されている。前記処理装置110は有利には、マイクロコンピュータの形態の電子処理装置とされるが、ハードワイヤードロジックとして構成することもできる。
Claims (9)
- 電気エネルギー蓄積器(150)の変形が生じようとしているとき、または電気エネルギー蓄積器(150)が変形したときに該電気エネルギー蓄積器(150)の放電を行うための放電装置(140,330)を備えた保護装置(100,300)において、
前記放電装置は、相互に隣接して前記エネルギー蓄積器(150)に取り付けられた2つの円筒形の電気的なコンタクト部材(330)であり、
第1のコンタクト部材(330)は、前記第1のコンタクト部材(330)の軸方向のスリット(410)を有することにより、前記第1のコンタクト部材(330)の軸方向に押しつぶされたときに前記第1のコンタクト部材(330)の半径方向に伸長することにより第2のコンタクト部材(330)と導電接続するように構成されている
ことを特徴とする保護装置(300)。 - 前記保護装置(100)はさらに、
前記エネルギー蓄積器(150)の変形が生じようとしていること、または前記エネルギー蓄積器(150)の変形が生じたことを判定するための決定装置(110)と、
前記判定結果に依存して前記エネルギー蓄積器(150)の放電を行うための別の放電装置(140)と
を含む、
請求項1記載の保護装置(100)。 - 前記決定装置(110)は、前記エネルギー蓄積器(150)の変形速度を求めるように構成されており、
前記別の放電装置(140)は、求められた前記変形速度に依存して前記エネルギー蓄積器(150)の放電を行うように構成されている、
請求項2記載の保護装置(100)。 - 前記決定装置(110)は、前記エネルギー蓄積器(150)の変形の程度を求めるように構成されており、
前記別の放電装置(140)は、求められた前記変形の程度に依存して前記エネルギー蓄積器(150)の放電を行うように構成されている、
請求項2または3記載の保護装置(100)。 - 前記第1のコンタクト部材(330)は、狭窄化されたかまたは胴太である円筒形の形状を有する、
請求項1から4までのいずれか1項記載の保護装置(300)。 - 前記放電装置(140,330)は、電気エネルギーを熱エネルギーに変換するように構成されている、
請求項1から5までのいずれか1項記載の保護装置(100,300)。 - 熱エネルギーを吸収すると物質状態を変化させる熱的材料(250)が前記放電装置(140,330)に熱伝導結合されている、
請求項6記載の保護装置(100,300)。 - 電気エネルギー蓄積器(150)の放電を行う保護方法(500)であって、
前記エネルギー蓄積器(150)に、2つの円筒形の電気的なコンタクト部材(330)が相互に隣接して取り付けられている、保護方法(500)において、
第1のコンタクト部材(330)は、前記第1のコンタクト部材(330)の軸方向のスリット(410)を有することにより、前記第1のコンタクト部材(330)の軸方向に押しつぶされたときに前記第1のコンタクト部材(330)の半径方向に伸長することにより第2のコンタクト部材(330)と導電接続することを特徴とする、保護方法(500)。 - 更に、
・エネルギー蓄積器(150)の変形を判定するステップ(510)と、
・放電装置(140)を用いて、前記判定結果に依存して前記エネルギー蓄積器(150)の放電を行うステップ(520)と
を実施することを特徴とする、請求項8記載の保護方法(500)。
