Description
まず、ナノカプセル溶液を調製する。この工程は、親水基を有する溶媒および非水溶性溶媒を混合してナノカプセルを形成し、前記触媒前駆体を該ナノカプセル内に封じ込める工程である。ここで触媒前駆体とは、還元されて金属粒子を形成するための原料となる化合物を示し、具体的には金属塩または金属錯体であり、触媒活性を有する金属の塩または金属錯体のうちの一種類であれば、特に限定されない。前記触媒前駆体としては、白金、パラジウム、ルテニウム、ロジウム、イリジウム等の貴金属塩、又は前記貴金属の無機又は有機金属錯体が含まれる。触媒活性が特に優れることから、貴金属としては白金が特に好ましい。白金の金属錯体および白金塩としては、アセチルアセナート白金〔Pt(acac)2〕、塩化白金酸カリウム(K2PtCl4)等が好ましく用いられる。さらに、アミン錯体、エチレンジアミン錯体、アセチルアセトナート錯体等の金属錯体が用いられる。
上記実施例1〜4で得られた金属錯体の触媒前駆体(M)と高級脂肪族カルボン酸(オレイン酸)及び高級脂肪族アミン(オレイルアミン)の合計(S)の割合(λ)とこの時のPt粒径の関係を図5に示す。λ=0.05を境に2本の直線が得られる。Ptを燃料電池の電極触媒として使用する場合、その粒径は一般的に4nm以下が好ましいので、本結果からλは0.1〜0.9となる。従って、金属元素を内包するナノミセルの安定性を、前記λが0.1〜0.9になるように規定することにより、触媒活性金属の粒径および粒径の揃った即ちその粒径分布が狭い、高品質なナノレベルの活性金属の粒子が担体上に高分散担持された電極触媒を得ることができる。
Claims (2)
- 金属塩及び/又は金属錯体のうち、いずれか1種類からなる触媒前駆体と親水基を有する溶媒および非水溶性溶媒を混合して前記触媒前駆体をナノカプセル内に封じ込める工程と高級脂肪族カルボン酸と高級脂肪族アミンの合計モル量に対し、前記ナノカプセルに含まれる金属塩及び/又は金属錯体からなる触媒前駆体のモル量が0.05〜0.9となる割合で混合し、所望の粒径の金属粒子を得るためのナノカプセルの安定化工程と
前記ナノカプセルの溶液を還元して金属粒子を形成する工程と
前記金属粒子を担体と混合した後、担体に担持させる工程と
金属粒子担持担体を500℃以下で加熱して溶媒を除去する工程と
を含む電極触媒の製造方法において
前記金属錯体は白金アセチルアセトナート錯体であり、

- 金属塩及び/又は金属錯体のうち、いずれか1種類からなる触媒前駆体と担体と親水基を有する溶媒及び非水溶性溶媒とを混合して前記触媒前駆体をナノカプセル内に封じ込める工程と
高級脂肪族カルボン酸と高級脂肪族アミンの合計モル量に対し、前記ナノカプセルに含まれる金属塩及び/又は金属錯体からなる触媒前駆体のモル量が0.05〜0.9となる割合で混合し、所望の粒径の金属粒子を得るためのナノカプセルの安定化工程と
前記ナノカプセル溶液を還元して金属粒子を形成すると同時にこの金属粒子を担体に担持させる工程と
金属粒子担持担体を500℃以下で加熱して溶媒を除去する工程と
を含む電極触媒の製造方法において
前記金属錯体は白金アセチルアセトナート錯体であり、
前記高級脂肪族カルボン酸と高級脂肪族アミンの組合せとしては、オレイン酸とオレイルアミンの組み合せであることを特徴とする電極触媒の製造方法。
