を有する化合物が含まれる。ジシクロペンタジエンは、Sigma−Aldrich Inc.およびAlfa Inc.、Shell ChemicalおよびDow chemicalから入手することができる。本発明に有用なジシクロペンタジエンの調製には、各種合成法を使用することができる。例えば、Diels−Alder反応におけるシクロペンタジエンを、一夜、室温でゆっくり加温し、白色結晶を生成させ、分離してジシクロペンタジエンを生成させる。ジシクロペンタジエンはまた、精製熱分解ガソリンの蒸留を経由するエチレン製造の副生成物である。本発明に有用なジシクロペンタジエン化合物の調製のためには、有機合成の分野で当業者に公知であるように他の方法も使用することができる。ジシクロペンタジエンが最も好ましい。
リサーチ法オクタン価(RON)(ASTM D2699)およびモーター法オクタン価(MON)(ASTM D2700)は、燃料のR+M/2オクタン向上を測定する際に使用される技法である。スパーク点火エンジン燃料のRONおよびMONは、該燃料のノック特性を、既知オクタン価を有する主要参照燃料ブレンドのそれと比較するため、標準試験エンジンおよび操作条件を用いて測定する。特定の電子爆発計測システムで測定して、サンプル燃料に対し標準ノック強度を生じるように、圧縮比および燃料−空気比を調節する。標準ノック強度対応表では、この特定方法のエンジン圧縮比とオクタン価レベルが対応付けられている。RONについての特定の手順は、ASTM D−2699に、MONについては、ASTM D−2700に載っている。表Iは、燃料のRONおよびMONの測定に必要なエンジン条件を示す。
この試験で用いたベース燃料は、87 R+M/2レギュラーベース燃料であった。ベース燃料の物性は表IIに見られる。
酸化防止剤を、表IIIに従い、87オクタンベース燃料1ガロンに各々0.5重量%(14.25g)を添加した。RONおよびMONの試験に各添加剤を3回提供した。図のグラフは、実施例から得た平均の(R+M/2)オクタン向上を示す。
Claims (5)
- (a)主要量のガソリンの沸点範囲にある炭化水素混合物と、
(b)少量の
(i)p−アニシジン
および
(ii)ジシクロペンタジエン
を含む添加剤混合物とを含み、
成分(b)(i)および(b)(ii)が、1:19から4:3の範囲の比で添加剤混合物中に存在する、無鉛燃料組成物。 - 前記添加剤混合物が、燃料の総重量に対して、0.01重量%から5重量%の量で存在する、請求項1に記載の燃料組成物。
- ガソリン混合物の主要部分に対して、少量の、p−アニシジンおよびジシクロペンタジエンを添加するステップを含み、
p−アニシジンおよびジシクロペンタジエンが、1:19から4:3の範囲の比で添加剤混合物中に存在する、ガソリンのオクタン価を改善する方法。 - p−アニシジンおよびジシクロペンタジエンが、ガソリンの総重量に対して、0.01重量%から5重量%の量で存在する、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 請求項1または2に記載の燃料組成物を内燃エンジン中で燃焼させるステップを含む、内燃エンジンにおける吸入バルブ堆積物を減少させるための方法。
