Description
本出願は、発明の名称が「サーキットブレーカーパネルボックス」の米国仮出願番号61/298,018号、及び発明の名称が「通信ゲートウェイを備えたサーキットブレーカーパネルボックス」の米国仮出願番号61/298,104号の優先権を主張している。上記優先権書類が参照により本願に組み入れられる。
サーキットブレーカーには、電気的な流れを中断するために、回路の連続性を遮断することによって故障状態(例えば、過負荷又は短絡)に応答する自動切換え機構が備わっている。アーク故障遮断(AFCI)及び漏電遮断(GFCI)は、それぞれアーク故障及び漏電の故障状態を検知する比較的新しいサーキットブレーカーの技術である。典型的には、サーキットブレーカーパネルは、多くのサーキットブレーカーを含んでおり、そのそれぞれが、異なる分岐回路を保護している。サーキットブレーカーパネルの異なるサーキットブレーカーのために、異なる故障検知技術を実行することは簡単な仕事ではない。
少なくとも幾つかの実施態様において、システムは、複数のサーキットブレーカーと、そのサーキットブレーカーの外部に連結されたトリップ制御回路とを有している。
このトリップ制御回路によって、各サーキットブレーカーのために、複数の異なる作動オプションが選択可能となる。

Claims (15)
- 複数のサーキットブレーカーと、
前記サーキットブレーカーの外側に連結されるトリップ制御回路と、
を備えたシステムであって、
前記複数のサーキットブレーカーの各々は、対応する電気回路の故障を検知する回路であって、検知された故障を過負荷、アーク故障遮断(AFCI)、又は漏電遮断(GFCI)と特定する故障信号を生成する回路を有しており、
前記トリップ制御回路は、前記サーキットブレーカーの各々からの故障信号を受信するように構成されており、かつ前記トリップ制御回路は、選択されたサーキットブレーカーからの故障信号を受信し、前記対応する電気回路の故障を特定し、それに応じて、デフォルトの過負荷、アーク故障遮断(AFCI)、漏電遮断(GFCI)、及びアーク故障遮断(AFCI)/漏電遮断(GFCI)作動オプションの中から、前記選択されたサーキットブレーカー用に予め設定された作動オプションに従って前記受けられた故障信号を処理することによって、前記選択されたサーキットブレーカーの作動を選択的に可能にするように構成されているシステム。 - 前記トリップ制御回路は、
前記受信した故障信号によって、検知された故障が、前記対応する電気回路の過負荷であると見なされた場合、デフォルトの過負荷作動オプションに従って、選択されたサーキットブレーカーの作動を可能とし、
前記受信した故障信号によって、検知された故障が、前記対応する電気回路のアーク故障遮断(AFCI)又は過負荷のいずれかであると見なされた場合、前記アーク故障遮断(AFCI)作動オプションに従って、選択されたサーキットブレーカーの作動を可能とし、
前記受信した故障信号によって、検知された故障が、前記対応する電気回路の漏電遮断(GFCI)又は過負荷のいずれかであると見なされた場合、前記漏電遮断(GFCI)作動オプションに従って、選択されたサーキットブレーカーの作動を可能とし、
前記受信した故障信号によって、検知された故障が、前記対応する電気回路のアーク故障遮断(AFCI)、漏電遮断(GFCI)、又は過負荷のいずれかであると見なされた場合、前記アーク故障遮断(AFCI)/漏電遮断(GFCI)作動オプションに従って、選択された作動サーキットブレーカーの作動を可能とする請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 故障を検知する前記回路は、
前記対応する電気回路の過負荷の事象を検知するためのパワーセンサ回路と、
前記対応する電気回路の故障遮断(AFCI)及び漏電遮断(GFCI)の事象を検知するための故障遮断(AFCI)/漏電遮断(GFCI)センサと、
前記パワーセンサ回路及び前記故障遮断(AFCI)/漏電遮断(GFCI)センサによって検知された過負荷、故障遮断(AFCI)、又は漏電遮断(GFCI)を特定する回路であって、それに応じて、前記トリップ制御回路に送信するために、対応する故障信号を生成する回路と、
を有する請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記複数のサーキットブレーカーに連結されたユーティリティ計測回路をさらに備え、該ユーティリティ計測回路は、前記システムの電力消費情報を決定するとともに、ユーティリティ計測収集サイトへ伝送するために前記情報を形式設定する請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記トリップ制御回路と通信するユーザーインターフェースをさらに備え、該ユーザーインターフェースによって、ユーザーは、前記複数のサーキットブレーカーの各々に対して、デフォルト過負荷作動オプション、アーク故障遮断(AFCI)作動オプション、漏電遮断(GFCI)作動オプション、及びアーク故障遮断(AFCI)/漏電遮断(GFCI)作動オプションの中から一つを選択することができる請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記ユーザーインターフェースに連結された終端通信インターフェースをさらに備え、該終端通信インターフェースによって、ユーザーは、前記ユーザーインターフェースを介して、電気機器又は電気レセプタクルと通信することができる請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記トリップ制御回路に連結された通信インターフェースをさらに備え、該通信インターフェースによって、電力プロバイダーは、前記複数のサーキットブレーカーの各々を個別にリモート作動させることができる請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記システム用のサーキットブレーカーパネルを介して、マルチメディア伝送が受信されることを可能とする通信インターフェースをさらに備えた請求項1に記載のシステム。
- ライン側のバスバー及びニュートラル側のバスバーをさらに備え、前記複数のサーキットブレーカーは、電線を使用せずに、前記ライン側のバスバー及び前記ニュートラル側のバスバーに直接連結する請求項1に記載のサーキットブレーカーパネル。
- サーキットブレーカーパネルであって、
該サーキットブレーカーパネルに使用される複数のサーキットブレーカーの各々の内部にある故障検知回路と、
前記故障検知回路の各々に連結され、かつ前記複数のサーキットブレーカーの外側に配置されたトリップ制御回路と、
を備え、
前記故障検知回路は、対応する電気回路の故障を検知するように作動し、それに応じて、検知された故障を、過負荷、アーク故障遮断(AFCI)、又は漏電遮断(GFCI)と見なす故障信号を生成するように構成されており、
前記トリップ制御回路は、選択されたサーキットブレーカーから故障信号を受信し、それに応じて、デフォルトの過負荷作動オプション、アーク故障遮断(AFCI)作動オプション、漏電遮断(GFCI)作動オプション、及びアーク故障遮断(AFCI)/漏電遮断(GFCI)作動オプションの中から、前記選択されたサーキットブレーカー用に予め選択された作動オプションに従って、前記受信した故障信号を処理することによって、前記選択されたサーキットブレーカーの作動を選択的に可能にするように構成されているサーキットブレーカーパネル。 - 前記トリップ制御回路は、
前記受信した故障信号によって、検知された故障が、前記対応する電気回路の過負荷であると見なされた場合、デフォルトの過負荷作動オプションに従って、選択されたサーキットブレーカーの作動を可能とし、
前記受信した故障信号によって、検知された故障が、前記対応する電気回路のアーク故障遮断(AFCI)又は過負荷のいずれかであると見なされた場合、前記アーク故障遮断(AFCI)作動オプションに従って、選択されたサーキットブレーカーの作動を可能とし、
前記受信した故障信号によって、検知された故障が、前記対応する電気回路の漏電遮断(GFCI)又は過負荷のいずれかであると見なされた場合、前記漏電遮断(GFCI)作動オプションに従って、選択されたサーキットブレーカーの作動を可能とし、
前記受信した故障信号によって、検知された故障が、前記対応する電気回路のアーク故障遮断(AFCI)、漏電遮断(GFCI)、又は過負荷のいずれかであると見なされた場合、前記アーク故障遮断(AFCI)/漏電遮断(GFCI)作動オプションに従って、選択された作動サーキットブレーカーの作動を可能とする請求項10に記載のシステム。 - 故障を検知する前記回路は、
前記対応する電気回路の過負荷の事象を検知するためのパワーセンサ回路と、
前記対応する電気回路の故障遮断(AFCI)及び漏電遮断(GFCI)の事象を検知するための故障遮断(AFCI)/漏電遮断(GFCI)センサと、
前記パワーセンサ回路及び前記故障遮断(AFCI)/漏電遮断(GFCI)センサによって検知された過負荷、故障遮断(AFCI)、又は漏電遮断(GFCI)を特定する回路であって、それに応じて、前記トリップ制御回路に送信するために、対応する故障信号を生成する回路と、
を有する請求項11に記載のシステム。 - ライン側のバスバー及びニュートラル側のバスバーをさらに備え、前記複数のサーキットブレーカーは、電線を使用せずに、前記ライン側のバスバー及び前記ニュートラル側のバスバーに直接連結する請求項10に記載のサーキットブレーカーパネル。
- 前記トリップ制御回路に連結されたユーザーインターフェースをさらに備え、該ユーザーインターフェースによって、ユーザーは、前記サーキットブレーカーパネルの電力消費情報を見ることができ、かつ前記複数のサーキットブレーカーの各々が前記異なる作動オプションの一つで動作するように調整することができる請求項10に記載のサーキットブレーカーパネル。
- ホームエリアネットワーク(HAN)用にマルチメディア機能を備えたネットワークインターフェースと、電気機器及びユーザーの間の通信を可能にする終端通信インターフェースとをさらに備えた請求項11に記載のサーキットブレーカーパネル。
