Claims (8)
- アーカイブデータ保護を提供するシステムであって、
アーカイブ媒体を含むコンピュータアーキテクチャと、
オペレーティングシステムと、
仮想化層と、
コンピュータアーキテクチャに実装され、前記オペレーティングシステムとともに実行されるように構成されたストレージアプリケーションであって、前記ストレージアプリケーションは、前記コンピュータアーキテクチャのアーカイブ媒体において未加工データセットの複数のバージョンを生成して記憶するように動作可能であり、且つ前記仮想化層上で実行されるように動作可能であり、前記オペレーティングシステムに対する仮想化層は、前記コンピュータアーキテクチャの1組のハードウェアコンポーネントの表現を示す、前記ストレージアプリケーションとを備え、
前記ストレージアプリケーションと前記未加工データセットのバージョンは、仮想マシンとして前記コンピュータアーキテクチャのアーカイブ媒体へコピーされるように構成され、前記未加工データセットの前記複数のバージョンは、前記未加工データセットのサイズに前記コンピュータアーキテクチャのアーカイブ媒体に記憶されたバージョンの数を掛けたものに満たないサイズを有し、
たとえ前記ストレージアプリケーションの作動にあたって使われた前記コンピュータアーキテクチャのハードウェアコンポーネントが、前記仮想マシンをサポートするハードウェアサブシステムのハードウェアコンポーネントと異なっていても、前記ストレージアプリケーションは、前記ハードウェアサブシステムに復元されることができる、システム。 - 前記未加工データセットにはサイズがあり、前記未加工データセットの前記複数のバージョンのサイズは、前記未加工データセットの前記サイズにアーカイブストレージ機構に格納されたバージョンの数を掛けたものに満たない、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記ストレージアプリケーションは、
スナップショットと、
ファイル差分検出、
コンテンツアドレスストレージと、
連続データ保護と、
重複排除と、
の内いずれか1つ以上を実装することにより、前記複数のバージョンの前記サイズを減少させる、請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記ストレージアプリケーションは、アーカイブストレージ機構に記憶された前記未加工データセットの前記複数のバージョンに基づき前記ハードウェアサブシステムで前記未加工データセットの回復バージョンを生成するためのリカバリモジュールを含む、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記オペレーティングシステムおよび前記ストレージアプリケーションは、協同して第1の仮想マシンの少なくとも一部分を形成し、
前記システムは、第2の仮想マシンを含み、
前記第2の仮想マシンは、
追加のオペレーティングシステムと、
追加のコンピュータアーキテクチャに実装され、前記追加のオペレーティングシステムと連動して動作するように構成された追加のストレージアプリケーションとを含み、
前記仮想化層は、前記コンピュータアーキテクチャの第1の仮想表現および第2の仮想表現を前記第1の仮想マシンおよび第2の仮想マシンにそれぞれ提供する、請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記オペレーティングシステムおよび前記ストレージアプリケーションは、協同して第1の仮想マシンの少なくとも一部分を形成し、
前記システムは、第2の仮想マシンを含み、
前記第2の仮想マシンは、
追加のオペレーティングシステムと、
追加のコンピュータアーキテクチャに実装され、前記追加のオペレーティングシステムと連動して動作するように構成された追加のストレージアプリケーションとを含み、
前記仮想化層は、前記コンピュータアーキテクチャの単一の仮想表現を前記第1の仮想マシンおよび第2の仮想マシンに提供する、請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記オペレーティングシステムおよび前記ストレージアプリケーションは、協同して仮想マシンの少なくとも一部分を形成し、
前記システムは、前記仮想マシンがインストールされて動作するアプリケーションを含む、請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記仮想化層は、コンピュータアーキテクチャの物理リソース管理および装置のサポートのためのホストのオペレーティングシステムに依存し、
前記仮想化層は、ゲストのオペレーティングシステムをストレージアプリケーションに提供する、請求項1に記載のシステム。
