Description
The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of a display panel used for, for example, a liquid crystal display, an organic EL display, a plasma display, electronic paper, and the like, and a display panel manufactured by this method, and in particular, a display element and an optical member are bonded. The present invention relates to a display panel manufacturing method and a display panel that can reliably and easily prevent contamination due to the outflow of an adhesive.
As a conventional method for manufacturing a display panel, for example, there is one disclosed in JP 2008-129159 A (Patent Document 1). As shown in FIG. 2, the display panel manufacturing method includes a step of placing a
In the above-described conventional display panel manufacturing method, in addition to the above-described step of bonding the protective plate 7 and the image display panel 6, a step of forming a sheet by previously curing an ultraviolet curable resin in a mold, and this sheet A step of cutting the
Further, in the conventional display panel manufacturing method described above, the
Furthermore, the
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and can reliably and easily prevent contamination due to the outflow of the adhesive that bonds the display element and the optical member, greatly reducing manufacturing man-hours and savings. It is an object of the present invention to provide a display panel manufacturing method and a display panel that can achieve space saving and configuration simplification.
In order to achieve the above object, a first display panel manufacturing method of the present invention is a display panel manufacturing method in which an optical member is bonded to a display element, and at least one of the display element or the optical member, By applying a first adhesive having fluidity when uncured, defining a second adhesive application region by the first adhesive, and curing the first adhesive; A first adhesive curing step for forming a flow stop portion that adheres to the application surface; a second adhesive application step for applying the second adhesive having fluidity when uncured to the application region; A bonding step of bonding the display element and the optical member through two adhesives, and a second adhesive curing step of curing the second adhesive to bond the display element and the optical member. is there.
According to such a method, it is possible to form the second adhesive flow-stopping portion very simply by simply applying and curing the uncured first adhesive on at least one of the display element or the optical member. It is possible to reliably prevent the second adhesive from flowing out from the application region defined by the flow stop portion.
Further, the first adhesive adheres to the application surface without gaps due to the fluidity when uncured, and the flow-stopping portion obtained by curing the first adhesive is firmly bonded to the application surface without gaps. Thereby, by optimizing the application amount of the second adhesive to the application area, the second adhesive does not leak out from the flow stop portion and can be reliably prevented from being contaminated by the second adhesive. it can.
Furthermore, the first adhesive forming the flow stop portion can be applied in any range, shape, width, and thickness depending on the fluidity when uncured, and different sizes and shapes of multiple types of display panels. In addition, it is possible to flexibly cope with space saving accompanying expansion of the display area of the display panel.
Here, the “display panel” includes, for example, a “display element” and its peripheral components constituting a display device such as a liquid crystal display, an organic EL (Electro Luminescence) display, a plasma display, and electronic paper. The “display element” is a substrate-like component that displays images, characters, and the like, and includes, for example, a liquid crystal display element, an EL display element, a plasma display element, an electrophoretic display element, and the like. In addition, the “optical member” that adheres to the display element widely includes those that are adhered to the front or back surface of the display element. For example, glass, acrylic resin, polycarbonate resin, polyester resin, PET resin, cycloolefin polymer resin Alternatively, it includes a substrate, a sheet, a film-like component made of a cycloolefin copolymer resin or the like and has optical functions such as scratch prevention, polarization, diffusion, and antiglare, and an input device such as a touch panel.
Furthermore, for the “first adhesive” and “second adhesive”, various adhesives that have fluidity when uncured and have good translucency and a stable refractive index when cured are used. Is possible. In addition, when providing a flow stop part in positions other than the display area of a display panel (for example, the position corresponding to the light-shielding part mentioned later), optical performance, such as translucency and refractive index of a 1st adhesive agent, is unnecessary. . Further, the “first adhesive” and the “second adhesive” widely include adhesives that have fluidity at the time of application and are cured after application, for example, photo-curing type, heat-curing type, moisture-curing type, hot An adhesive that cures by mixing melt and two or more liquids is included.
In order to achieve the above object, a second display panel manufacturing method of the present invention is a display panel manufacturing method in which an optical member is bonded to a display element assembled to a case, and the display element is assembled to the case. A first adhesive having fluidity when uncured is applied to the inside of the assembly step and the boundary between the case and the display element in at least one of the display element or the optical member, and the first adhesive A first adhesive application step that defines an application region of the second adhesive, and a first adhesive curing step that forms a flow stop portion that adheres to the application surface by curing the first adhesive; A second adhesive application step of applying the second adhesive having fluidity when uncured to the application region, and a bonding step of bonding the optical member to the display element via the second adhesive; Said The adhesive is cured are to include a second adhesive curing step of bonding the display element and the optical member.
According to such a method, the same effects as those of the first display panel manufacturing method described above can be achieved, and in the second adhesive application step or the bonding step described above, the uncured second adhesive is a case. And prevents contamination of peripheral parts such as optical films, light guide plates, and backlights stored in the case without flowing into the case through gaps, holes, openings, etc. It becomes possible to do.
Preferably, in the first and second display panel manufacturing methods described above, the optical member has a light shielding portion, and at least the second adhesive is a photocurable adhesive, and the display element or the optical member The flow stop portion is formed at a position corresponding to the light shielding portion in at least one of the above.
According to such a method, it is possible to prevent the uncured second adhesive from flowing out to a position corresponding to the light-shielding portion of the optical member by the flow stop portion made of the first adhesive. Thereby, even when a photocurable adhesive is used for the second adhesive, it is possible to cure the second adhesive by irradiating light from the optical member side, and the case of the uncured second adhesive Contamination can be prevented.
Preferably, in the first and second display panel manufacturing methods described above, the viscosity of the first adhesive is made higher than the viscosity of the second adhesive, and the first adhesive is used as the case and the display element. The boundary is sealed by the flow stop portion by being cured after being applied along the boundary.
According to such a method, the gap formed at the boundary between the case and the display element can be sealed by the flow stop portion made of the first adhesive, and the uncured second adhesive can be removed from the application region. Outflow can be prevented, and contamination in the case due to the uncured second adhesive can be more reliably prevented.
Preferably, in the first and second display panel manufacturing methods described above, the thickness of the flow stopping portion is equal to or less than the thickness of the second adhesive.
According to such a method, the flow stopping portion does not hinder the adhesion between the display element or the optical member and the uncured second adhesive, and thereby the second adhesive application step or the bonding step described above. In this case, it is possible to prevent air bubbles from entering between the display element and the optical member and to form a gap, and it is possible to bond the entire surface of the display element and the optical member with the cured second adhesive.
Preferably, in the first and second display panel manufacturing methods described above, the first and second adhesives are made of the same material having the same light transmittance and refractive index.
According to such a method, in the manufacturing process of the display panel, in the above-described second adhesive application step, the first adhesive forms the second adhesive flow-stop portion. In the process, after the second adhesive is cured and integrated with the flow stopper, both become a single adhesive having the same optical properties. As a result, even when the flow stopper extends over the display area of the display element, it is possible to extremely reduce the influence on the visibility of images and the like.
Here, “the same material” means that the first and second adhesives are at least “light transmittance and refractive index are equal”, and “light transmittance and refractive index are equal”. For example, even if the first and second adhesives have different viscosities, they are included in the “same material” here.
In order to achieve the above object, a third display panel manufacturing method of the present invention is a display panel manufacturing method in which an optical member is bonded to a display element, and at least one of the display element or the optical member, A flow stopping portion forming step of applying a resin material having a high viscosity of about 200,000 to 1,000,000 mPa · s at normal temperature to form a flow stopping portion, and demarcating an application area of the adhesive by the flow stopping portion, An adhesive application step of applying an adhesive having fluidity when uncured to the application region, a bonding step of bonding the optical member to the display element via the adhesive, and curing the adhesive. An adhesive curing step for adhering the display element and the optical member.
According to such a method, it is possible to form a flow preventive portion of an adhesive having fluidity simply by applying a resin material having a high viscosity of about 200,000 to 1,000,000 mPa · s at room temperature. In comparison with the first and second display panel manufacturing methods, the step of curing the resin material can be omitted.
Preferably, in the above-described third display panel manufacturing method, high-viscosity grease mainly containing perfluoropolyether is used as the resin material.
The high-viscosity grease containing perfluoropolyether as a main component has a carbon-fluorine bond and is excellent in chemical stability and inactive. When the flow stop is formed with such high viscosity grease, the flow stop exhibits high heat resistance in air and chemical resistance to adhesives, and corrodes, swells, deteriorates, or dissolves against display elements and optical members. There is no adverse effect. Furthermore, it is possible to impart optical performance such as translucency in a wide wavelength range and low refractive index to the flow stopper.
In order to achieve the above object, the display panel of the present invention has a structure manufactured by any one of the first to third display panel manufacturing methods described above, and the first or second display panel described above. The same operational effects as those of the manufacturing method are obtained.
As described above, according to the display panel manufacturing method and the display panel of the present invention, it is possible to reliably and easily prevent contamination due to the outflow of the adhesive that bonds the display element and the optical member, and the manufacturing man-hours are greatly increased. Reduction, space saving, and simplification of the configuration can be achieved.
Hereinafter, a method for manufacturing a display panel of the present invention and an embodiment of a display panel manufactured by this method will be described with reference to the drawings.
[Display Panel According to First Embodiment]
First, the configuration of the display panel according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1A and 1B show a display panel according to a first embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 1A is a plan view, FIG. 1B is a cross-sectional view taken along the line A-A in FIG. c) is a partially enlarged view of FIG.
1 (a) and 1 (b), a
The
The
Here, the black light-shielding
Between the
The
The thickness of the
In the present embodiment, since the
The
The
In addition, as a peripheral component of the
Moreover, as the
According to the
[Display Panel According to Second Embodiment]
Next, a display panel according to a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 2A and 2B show a display panel according to a second embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2A is a plan view, FIG. 2B is a cross-sectional view taken along line BB in FIG. c) is a partially enlarged view of FIG.
In FIGS. 3A to 3C, in the
In the present embodiment, the viscosity of the first adhesive 30 forming the
Here, in the present embodiment, since the
Thereby, the 2nd
According to the
[Method for Manufacturing Display Panel According to First Embodiment]
Next, a method for manufacturing a display panel according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing each step of the display panel manufacturing method according to the first embodiment of the present invention. 4 (a) to 4 (g) are schematic views showing each step of FIG.
In the display panel manufacturing method according to the present embodiment, the
First, in step S1 of FIG. 3, a first adhesive application process is performed. In the first adhesive application step, as shown in FIG. 4A, the uncured first adhesive 30 is applied to the surface of the
Subsequently, it progresses to step S2 of FIG. 3, and a 1st adhesive agent hardening process is performed. In this first adhesive curing step, as shown in FIG. 4B, the uncured first adhesive 30 applied to the surface of the
Subsequently, it progresses to step S3 of FIG. 3, and a 2nd adhesive agent coating process is performed. In the second adhesive application step, as shown in FIG. 4C, the uncured second adhesive 40 is applied to the application region Ar1 surrounded by the
Subsequently, it progresses to step S4 of FIG. 3, and a joining process is performed. In this joining step, as shown in FIG. 4D, the
Subsequently, it progresses to step S5 of FIG. 3, and a 2nd adhesive agent hardening process is performed. In this second adhesive curing step, as shown in FIG. 4E, the
Here, in step S <b> 6 of FIG. 3, a process of assembling peripheral components is performed separately from the
Thereafter, the process proceeds to step S7 in FIG. 3, and the
According to the display panel manufacturing method of the present embodiment described above, contamination due to the outflow of the uncured second adhesive 40 can be reliably prevented in the process of bonding the
[Method for Manufacturing Display Panel According to Second Embodiment]
Next, a display panel manufacturing method according to the second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing each step of the method for manufacturing a display panel according to the second embodiment of the present invention. 6 (a) to 6 (f) are schematic views showing the respective steps of FIG. In addition, about the same location as the manufacturing method of 1st Embodiment mentioned above, the same code | symbol is attached | subjected and detailed description is abbreviate | omitted.
In the display panel manufacturing method according to the present embodiment, the backlight and the
First, in step S11 of FIG. 5, a process of assembling peripheral parts is performed. In the process of assembling the peripheral parts, as shown in FIG. 6A, the
Next, the process proceeds to step S12 in FIG. 5 to perform a display element assembly process. In the process of assembling the display element, as shown in FIG. 6B, the
Subsequently, it progresses to step S13 of FIG. 5, and performs a 1st adhesive agent application process. In this first adhesive application step, as shown in FIG. 6C, the uncured first adhesive 30 is applied to the surface of the
Subsequently, it progresses to step S14 of FIG. 5, and a 1st adhesive agent hardening process is performed. In this first adhesive curing step, as shown in FIG. 6D, the uncured first adhesive 30 applied to the surface of the
Subsequently, it progresses to step S15 of FIG. 5, and a 2nd adhesive agent coating process is performed. In this second adhesive application step, as shown in FIG. 6E, the uncured second adhesive 40 is applied to the application region Ar1 surrounded by the
Subsequently, it progresses to step S16 of FIG. 5, and a joining process is performed. In this joining step, as shown in FIG. 6 (f), the
Then, it progresses to step S17 of FIG. 5, and performs a 2nd adhesive agent hardening process. In this second adhesive curing step, as shown in FIG. 6F, the
According to the display panel manufacturing method of the present embodiment described above, in the second adhesive application step (Step S15), the
Moreover, in the manufacturing method of 1st Embodiment mentioned above, although 2 lines of the line which adhere | attaches the
In addition, the manufacturing method of the display panel of this invention and the display panel manufactured by this method are not limited to each embodiment mentioned above. For example, in the above embodiment, the
Furthermore, the present invention is not limited to the case where the
[Method for Manufacturing Display Panel According to Third Embodiment]
Next, a display panel manufacturing method according to the third embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing each process of the display panel manufacturing method according to the third embodiment of the present invention. In addition, about the same location as the manufacturing method of 1st and 2nd embodiment mentioned above, the same code | symbol is attached | subjected and detailed description is abbreviate | omitted. In the following description, refer to FIG. 1 or FIG. 2 for the reference numerals of the components of the display panel.
In the method for manufacturing a display panel according to this embodiment, instead of the first adhesive 30 described above, a second adhesive (using a resin material having a high viscosity of about 200,000 to 1,000,000 mPa · s at room temperature is used. The flow stop portion of the adhesive 40 is formed.
Here, the resin material forming the flow stop portion is preferably ejected from the nozzle of the
The high-viscosity grease containing perfluoropolyether as a main component has a carbon-fluorine bond and is excellent in chemical stability and inactive.
In FIG. 7, in the display panel manufacturing method of the present embodiment, the
Therefore, the characteristic manufacturing process in FIG. 7 will be described. In the flow stopping portion forming step in step S21, the above-described high-viscosity resin material is applied to the
Subsequently, it progresses to step S22 and an adhesive agent coating process is performed. In this adhesive application step, the uncured second adhesive 40 is applied to the application region Ar1 surrounded by the flow stopper. Application | coating of the 2nd
Subsequently, it progresses to step S23 and a joining process is performed. In this joining step, the
Then, it progresses to step S24 and an adhesive agent hardening process is performed. In this adhesive curing step, as in the above embodiment, the
According to the method of manufacturing the display panel of the present embodiment described above, the flow preventive portion of the adhesive having fluidity can be obtained simply by applying a resin material having a high viscosity of about 200,000 to 1,000,000 mPa · s at room temperature. The step of curing the resin material (corresponding to step S2 in FIG. 3 and step S14 in FIG. 5) is omitted in comparison with the manufacturing method of the display panel of the first and second embodiments described above. It becomes possible.
