Description
本出願は、ポリマー化学、材料科学及び医療機器に、特に、ステレオコンプレックスポリマーを含む組成物及びそれから形成される埋め込み型医療機器(implantable medical devices)に関する。
したがって、1態様において、本発明は、約50重量%から約99重量%の第1の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマー;約1%から約50%の、第1の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマーと同一であっても異なっていてもよい第2の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマーとその鏡像エナンチオマーのホモポリマーとの1:1ブレンドを含む組成物に関し;ここで、該ブレンドはステレオコンプレックスが形成される条件を使用して調製され;及び第1の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマーの分子量は、ブレンド中のホモポリマーの各々の分子量よりも、第1の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマーが組成物の連続相を形成し且つブレンドが組成物の不連続相を形成するように十分高い。
1980年代中頃まで、動脈硬化、即ち、冠動脈狭窄の許容された治療は、冠バイパス手術であった。有効であり、且つそのような侵襲的手技としては安全性が比較的高いところまで進化しているが、それでもなお、バイパス手術は、最良の場合でも長期の回復期間を要する重症の合併症を伴う可能性がある。
解説
本明細書における単数形の使用は、特に断らない限り複数形を含み、逆も同様である。即ち、「a」及び「the」は、語が修飾する如何なるものでもその1つ又は複数を指す。例えば「a therapeutic agent」は、1種類の治療剤、2種類の治療剤等を含む。同様に、「the layer」は、1、2又は3層以上の層を指すことができ、及び「the polymer」は、1種類のポリマー又は複数のポリマーを意味することができる。限定されないが、同様に、「layers」及び「polymers」などの語は、やはり特に断るか又は文脈からそのようなことが意図されていないことが明らかでない限り、複数の層又はポリマーと同様に、1つの層又はポリマーも指すものとする。
Claims (5)
- 50重量%から99重量%の第1の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマーと、
1%から50%の、前記第1の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマーと化学構造が同じでも異なっていてもよい第2の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマー及びその鏡像エナンチオマーのホモポリマーの1:1のブレンドと、
を含む組成物において、
前記ブレンドはステレオコンプレックスが形成される条件を使用して調製され、
前記第1の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマーの分子量が200,000から500,000Daであり、前記ブレンド中のホモポリマーの各々の分子量が5,000から75,000Daであり、その結果、前記第1の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマーが前記組成物の連続相を形成し、前記ブレンドが前記組成物の不連続相を形成し、
前記第1の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマーがポリ(L−ラクチド)であり、前記第2の単独のエナンチオマーホモポリマーがポリ(D−ラクチド)である組成物。 - 請求項1に記載の組成物を含む埋め込み型医療機器。
- 前記組成物中に埋め込まれた1種又は複数の生物活性剤をさらに含む、請求項2に記載の埋め込み型医療機器。
- 1種又は複数の生物活性剤を含むコーティングをさらに含む、請求項2に記載の埋め込み型医療機器。
- 前記機器は、ステントである、請求項2に記載の埋め込み型医療機器。
