Description
Claims (13)
- 船舶のバラスト水中の有害なおよび/または悪影響を及ぼす生物を除去するバラスト水の処理方法において、
前記バラスト水が排出されることとなる生態系に対して無害な生体であって、前記バラスト水に溶解している酸素と、前記生物の食物源とを消費する生体を、前記船舶のバラスト水タンクの既存のベントから前記バラスト水タンク内に加えるステップを備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法において、
前記生体を加えるステップが、前記バラスト水の表面全域に亘って前記生体を分散させるステップを備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法において、
前記バラスト水タンクが前記バラスト水で満たされた後に、前記生体を加えるステップが少なくとも1回行われることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法において、
前記生物が好気性生物であることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法において、
前記船舶の航海中に前記バラスト水タンクの既存のベントに直接減圧を加えるステップをさらに備え、前記減圧が−13790Pa乃至−27580Pa(−2乃至−4ポンド/平方インチ)の範囲にあることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項5に記載の方法において、
前記減圧を加えるステップにおいて、前記減圧を調整することを特徴とする方法。 - 船舶のバラスト水中の有害なおよび/または悪影響を及ぼす生物を除去するバラスト水の処理方法において、
前記バラスト水が排出されることとなる生態系に対して無害な生体であって、前記バラスト水に溶解している酸素と、前記生物の食物源とを消費する生体を、バラスト水が収容される船舶のバラスト水タンクの既存のベントに、陽圧下で導入し、それにより、前記バラスト水の表面全域に亘って前記生体を分散させるステップを備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項7に記載の方法において、
前記バラスト水タンクが前記バラスト水で満たされた後に、前記生体を導入するステップが少なくとも1回行われることを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項7に記載の方法において、
前記生物が好気性生物であることを特徴とする方法。 - 船舶のバラスト水中の有害なおよび/または悪影響を及ぼす生物を除去するバラスト水の処理システムにおいて、
前記バラスト水が排出されることとなる生態系に対して無害な生体であって、前記バラスト水に溶解している酸素と、前記生物の食物源とを消費する生体を、バラスト水が収容される船舶のバラスト水タンクの既存のベントに、陽圧下で導入し、それにより、前記バラスト水の表面全域に亘って前記生体を分散させる手段を備えることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項10に記載のシステムにおいて、
前記手段が前記既存のベントに結合されていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項10に記載のシステムにおいて、
前記手段が、前記生体を収容するハウジングと、
前記ハウジングに結合されるとともに前記既存のベントに結合されるように構成され、前記生体の少なくとも一部を前記既存のベント内に吹き込むための手段とを備えることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項12に記載のシステムにおいて、
前記ハウジングが、前記生体の複数回分の投与量を収容することを特徴とするシステム。
