Description
ビデオテレフォニー用途に関しては、一般的には、データ12が映像送信能力及び映像受信能力の両方をサポートするのが望ましい。しかしながら、ストリーミング映像用途も企図されている。ビデオテレフォニー、特に無線通信によるモバイルビデオテレフォニーにおいては、極端に低いビットレートがしばしば要求されるため帯域幅が重要な懸念事項である。特に、通信チャネル16は、制限された帯域幅を有しており、チャネル16で高質の映像シーケンスを有効にリアルタイムで送信するのが非常に難しい場合がある。例えば、通信チャネル16は、チャネル16における物理的制約事項、又は通信チャネル16の提供者によって課せられたサービスの質(QoS)上の制限事項又は帯域幅割当て上の制約事項に起因する制限された帯域幅を有する無線通信リンクである場合がある。
上記の最適化問題は、ラグランジュ緩和及び動的プログラミングによって解決することが可能である。しかしながら、該手法の演算上の複雑さは、リアルタイムシステムが耐えることが可能な複雑さよりもはるかに複雑になる可能性がある。従って、本開示により、複雑さが小さくほぼ最適な解決方法が好まれる。特に、本開示においては、ρ領域内における2段階式ビット割当てアルゴリズムが適用される。第1の段階は、以下の最適化問題を含む。

- 前記命令は、前記ROI内における前記活動がしきい値を上回る場合に前記非ROIエリアの符号化をスキップすることを前記プロセッサに行わせる請求項17に記載のコンピュータ読取可能な記録媒体。
- 前記命令は、前記ROI内における前記活動が第1のしきい値を上回る場合は前記非ROIエリアの符号化をスキップし、前記ROI内における前記活動が前記第1のしきい値を下回るが前記非ROIエリア内における前記活動が第2のしきい値を下回る場合は前記非ROIエリアの符号化をスキップすることを前記プロセッサに行わせる請求項17に記載のコンピュータ読取可能な記録媒体。
- 前記命令は、前記ROI内における前記活動が第1のしきい値を上回る場合は前記非ROIエリアの符号化をスキップし、前記ROI内における前記活動が前記第1のしきい値を下回るが前記非ROIエリア内における前記活動が第2のしきい値を下回りさらにその他の映像フレームの符号化のスキップに起因する累積歪みが第3のしきい値を下回る場合は前記非ROIエリアの符号化をスキップすることを前記プロセッサに行わせる請求項17に記載のコンピュータ読取可能な記録媒体。
