Description
本願において、「遠位部/端」という用語を使用するとき、この用語は、送達装置の使用中、患者の薬剤送達部位から最も離れた場所にある、送達装置の部分/端部、または、送達装置の部材の部分/端部を意味する。これに対応して、「近位部/端」という用語を使用するとき、この用語は、送達装置の使用中、患者の薬剤送達部位に最も近い場所にある、送達装置の部分/端部、または、送達装置の部材の部分/端部を意味する。
式中、Pは荷重、Eは材料の弾性率、bは材料の幅、tは材料の厚み、Rは自然半径である。弾性率の単位がポンド毎平方インチ(psi)であり材料の幅、厚みおよび自然半径の単位がインチである場合、荷重の単位はポンド(lb)である。
発明者らは、式1を用いて可変力ばね(VFS)を設計できることを確認した。この可変力ばねは、帯状材料からなるコイルばねでもあり、ばねの材料および/または形状を適切に調整することにより荷重Pの予め定められたプロファイルを有する。このようなVFS、特に少なくとも2つの異なる力プロファイルの予め定められたシーケンスを与えるVFSは、たとえば自動注射器といった薬剤の送達のための装置において有利である。力プロファイルには3種類ある。第1の力プロファイルは、ばねの弛緩に伴なって力が減少するプロファイルである。第2の力プロファイルは、ばねの弛緩に伴なって力が増大するプロファイルである。第3の力プロファイルは、ばねの弛緩に伴なう力が一定であるプロファイルである。可能性のある多数の例のうちただ1つの例として、コイルの半径を変え、増大または減少する力を与えるばねにした場合、薬剤の送達のための装置を含め、広範囲に亘る製品において好都合である。
Claims (5)
- 薬剤の送達のための装置であって、
細長いハウジングと、
針を有し、前記ハウジング内に設けられ、液状の薬剤を収容するようにされた容器(4)と、
前記容器内に摺動可能な状態で配置されたストッパと、
弾性部材と、近位端が前記ストッパと接触し遠位端が前記弾性部材に動作可能な状態で接続されたプランジャロッド(50)とを含む作動手段と、
前記ハウジングの内側表面に固定して配置されたキャリア(30)と、
前記キャリアに旋回可能な状態で配置された保持手段(40)とを備え、前記保持手段は突起部(41)を含み、前記突起部(41)は、前記プランジャロッドの溝(52)と接触するように配置され、前記弾性部材が蓄積されたエネルギを有する第1の位置で、前記プランジャロッドを解放可能な状態で保持するためのものであり、前記装置はさらに、
前記保持手段に動作可能な状態で接続された起動手段(10)を備え、前記起動手段がユーザによって起動されて前記プランジャロッドを解放して第2の位置に置くと、前記蓄積されたエネルギが、前記プランジャロッドに伝達され、前記ストッパを前記容器内で予め定められた距離だけ駆動し、それにより、前記容器内の薬剤が送達され、
前記起動手段は、前記ハウジングに設けられた管状部材(11)と、前記管状部材に動作可能な状態で接続された少なくとも1つの弾性手段(17)とを含み、前記管状部材は、送達部位に押付けられたときに前記針が送達部位に挿入されるよう、前記弾性手段(17)の力に対抗して前記ハウジングに関して引込み可能にされた端部を含み、前記管状部材は、前記端部が送達部位から外されたときに前記少なくとも1つの弾性手段によって前記端部の方向に付勢されるようにされることを特徴とし、
前記弾性部材は、第1の端部が前記キャリア(3)に装着され第2の端部が前記プランジャロッドの第2の端部に可変の状態で巻かれて置かれた可変力ばね(60)であり、前記可変力ばねは、薬剤送達中少なくとも2つの異なる力プロファイルの予め定められたシーケンスを発生するようにされ、前記シーケンス内において最後の力プロファイルは、前記ばねの弛緩に伴ない力が増大するプロファイルであることを特徴とする、装置。 - 前記可変力ばね(60)は帯状材料からなるコイルばねであり、前記異なる力プロファイルは、前記ばねの材料および/または形状および/または自然半径および/または弾性率を適切に調整することによって得られることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記管状部材(11)は、前記装置の遠位端に向かって長手方向に延びる2つの舌状部(14)を有する外向きの環状の突出部(13)を含み、前記舌状部(14)のうち1つは舌状部延長部分(16)を含み、前記端部が送達部位に押付けられたときに前記舌状部延長部分(16)は前記保持手段(40)を押して旋回させて前記突起部(41)が前記溝(52)から離れるようにすることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記装置は、前記装置が薬剤非送達状態のときに予め定められた段差との関係で操作されるようにされた投与量設定手段を備え、前記投与量設定手段の一段差分の操作により投与量が予め定められた段差で増加することを特徴とする、請求項1から3のいずれか1つに記載の装置。
- 前記投与量設定手段は、少なくとも1つの長手方向に段差が設けられた投与量溝(51)を含み、前記溝の端部壁(53)は前記プランジャロッド(50)上に配置され、前記長手方向に段差が設けられた投与量溝(51)のうち少なくとも1つは、セレクタリング(20)の周面(21)の同軸貫通孔に配置された内向きの突起部(22)に動作可能な状態で接続され、前記プランジャロッド(50)は前記貫通孔を貫通するように配置され、各端部壁(53)と前記突起部(22)との間の距離は、予め定められた投与量に相当し、前記装置が薬剤送達状態にあるとき、前記プランジャロッドの移動が、前記セレクタリングの突起部(22)が前記端部壁(53)と係合したときに停止することを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の装置。
