本発明の実施例はプレイリストベースの同期化されたブレークポイント算出のための方法及びシステムを提供することによって従来技術の欠点に対処する。
[発明の詳細な説明]
本発明は好適にプレイリストベースの同期化されたブレークポイント算出の方法及びシステムを提供する。本発明が小売広告ネットワークの環境、コントロール、及びプログラミングの表示を開示しているが、本発明の特定の実施例は、本発明の範囲を制限するように解釈されてはならない。本発明のコンセプトは、ディスプレイ、スピーカ等の他のエンドシステムの制御のための、例えばオンデマンドネットワーク等のいかなるコンテンツ配信及びプレイバックネットワークに対して好適に適用することができる。
<ブレークインチャネル間隔持続時間>−<第1のブレークインチャネルコンテンツ持続時間>(1)
個々のチャネルコンテンツをプレイするための次の間隔に対して、個々のチャネル理想の持続時間は式(2)に従って決定され得る。
(<ブレークインチャネル間隔持続時間>−<次のブレークインチャネルコンテンツ持続時間>)−(<前の実際のチャネル持続時間>−<前の理想のチャネル持続時間>)(2)
式1、及び式2において、前の実際のブレーク持続時間は、全てのレギュラーチャネルに対する前の最適化された累算された持続時間と同様である。方法400は、ステップ406へ任意に進んでもよい。そうでない場合には、方法は、ステップ408へ進んでもよい。すなわち、本発明のさまざまな実施例で、受け入れられるブレーク間隔持続時間範囲は、同期化されたブレークポイントの、より簡単な決定を可能にすることを要求される。そして、方法400はステップ406へ進んでもよい。しかしながら、この種の範囲が要求されない場合、方法はステップ408へ進んでもよい。

方法400は、ステップ408へ進む。
図5の例において、ブレークインチャネルは、15分に毎にプレイされる。これは、1時間に4回というブレーク頻度設定に基づく。プレイ1の個々のチャネルコンテンツの持続時間は、理想的には9分である。これは、上述の式1に示されるように、[ブレーク間隔持続時間(15分)−ブレークインコンテンツ1の持続時間(6分)]となる。図5におけるブレークイン間隔最小/最大設定(14分/16分)及びブレークインコンテンツ1の持続時間6分に基づき、個々のチャネルコンテンツのためのプレイ1持続時間は、8分から10分の間となる。すなわち、(14分−6分)から(16分−6分)となる。この累算された持続時間範囲に対して、CH1のための可能なメディア境界は、メディア3の終わりである10分に位置する。CH2のための累算された持続時間範囲は、メディア3の終わりの9:45に位置する。このように、メディア第2の境界に関して合計3つの可能なブレークポイントが存在することになる。すなわち、9:00(理想のブレークポイント)、9:45(チャネル2のブレークポイント)、及び10:00(チャネル1のブレークポイント)である。
プレイ1及びブレーク2を計算したときに、プレイ1は、ブレーク2までに9分の持続時間を有するケースが15:00分の理想的時刻に該当する場合であった。なぜなら、ブレークインチャネルは、理想的に15分毎にプレイされなければならないからである。しかしながら、プレイ1は、実際には10分の持続時間であった。このことを考慮すると、次のブロックのブレークインチャネルコンテンツの長さは、5分となり、プレイ2の理想的な持続時間は9分となる。これは、上述の式2にしたがって計算され、以下のようになる。
(15:00−5:00)−(10:00−9:00)=9:00分
図5のブレークイン間隔の最小/最大設定(14分/16分)に基づいて、個々のチャネルコンテンツのためのプレイ2の持続時間は、9分から11分となる。すなわち、(14分−5分)から(16分−5分)である。この累算された持続時間の範囲、及び個々のチャネルコンテンツ持続時間範囲の規則を考慮すると、理想的な9:00のブレークポイント以外、CH1及びCH2の可能なメディア境界の解決案はない。より具体的には、CH1に対して、メディア4、及び5のみをプレイする場合、個々のチャネルコンテンツ持続時間は、5:30となる。また、メディア4、5、6、及び7をプレイする場合、個々のチャネルコンテンツ持続時間は11:30となる。この両者は、チャネルコンテンツ持続時間範囲を上回る。同様に、CH2に対して、メディア4、及び5だけをプレイすることは6:00の個々のチャネルコンテンツ持続時間となる。メディア4、5、6、及び7をプレイすることは、11:30の個々のチャネルコンテンツ持続時間となる。この両者は、チャネルコンテンツ持続時間範囲を上回る。
プレイ2及びブレーク3を算出するときに、ブレーク3が30:00分後の時刻になるようにするために、プレイ2は、理想的には9分の持続時間を有することが必要であった。なぜなら、ブレークインチャネルは、理想的には15分毎にプレイしなければならず、プレイ2は、実際に9分の持続時間であった。この点及び次のブロックのブレークインチャネルコンテンツの長さが6分であることを考慮すると、プレイ3の理想的な持続時間は、上述の式2にしたがって、9分となり、以下のように計算される。
(15:00−6:00)−(9:00−9:00)=9:00分
図5のブレークイン間隔の最大/大小設定規則(14分/16分)を基にすると、個々のチャネルコンテンツに対するプレイ3の持続時間は、8分から10分の間の範囲となる。すなわち、(14分−6分)から(16分−6分)である。この累算された持続時間の範囲において、個々のチャネルコンテンツの持続時間の範囲の規則を考慮すると、CH1に対する可能なメディア境界は存在しない。なお、CH2に対しては、メディア9の終わりにおいて、8:30に可能なメディア境界が存在する。より具体的には、CH1に対して、メディア7、及び8をプレイすることは、結果として7:30の個々のチャネルコンテンツ持続時間になる。そして、メディア7、8、及び9をプレイすることは、結果として10:30の個々のチャネルコンテンツ持続時間になる。これらは、両方とも個々のチャネルコンテンツ持続時間範囲を上回る。しかしながら、CH2に対しては、メディア7、8、及び9をプレイすることによって、結果として8:30の個々のチャネルコンテンツ持続時間になる。そして、これは個々のチャネルコンテンツ持続時間範囲の中にある。8:30のブレークポイントに対して、CH1は、メディア7、及び8をプレイし、かつ1:00分のフィラーを必要とする。そして、CH2は、メディア7、8、及び9をプレイし、かつフィラーを必要としない。
Claims (15)
- プレイリストのための同期化されたブレークポイントを特定する方法であって、
単位時間当たりのブレーク回数を表す、定義されたブレーク頻度を使用して、ブレーク間隔持続時間を特定するステップと;
前記特定されたブレーク間隔持続時間から前記ブレーク間隔持続時間の間提示されるブレークインコンテンツの持続時間を引いた差を使用して、提示される個々のチャネルのコンテンツのための計算された持続時間間隔を特定するステップと;
個々のチャネルのそれぞれのプレイリストが、計算された持続時間間隔に等しくなることを試みるために、個々のチャネルのそれぞれのコンテンツ部分を選択することにより、コンテンツ部分を編集するステップと;
計算された持続時間間隔の終了ポイント、及び個々のチャネルのプレイリストの終了ポイントのうちの少なくとも1つであって、個々のチャネルのそれぞれの終了ポイントを選択されたブレークポイントに同期させるために必要とされるフィラーコンテンツを最小の長さとさせる、いずれかの終了ポイントを、全てのチャネルのブレークポイントとして選択するステップと;
を有する方法。 - 次のブレーク間隔持続時間に対して、前に決定された計算された持続時間間隔の終了ポイントから選択されたブレークポイントを差し引いた差がもし存在すれば、前記差に等しい長さを加算することによって、個々のチャネルのコンテンツの表示のための計算された持続時間間隔を調整するステップ、
を更に有する請求項1記載の方法。 - 前記ブレークポイントは、個々のチャネル・プレイリストの編集の終了ポイントに等しい、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記コンテンツの部分は、メディア・クリップを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記メディア・クリップは、広告メディアコンテンツを含む、請求項4記載の方法。
- 前記計算された持続時間間隔に最も近い個々のチャネル・プレイリストの編集の終了ポイントが、前記ブレークポイントとして選ばれる、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記ブレーク間隔持続時間のための最大および最小の値のうち少なくとも1つを有する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記フィラーコンテンツのための最大および最小の値のうち少なくとも1つを有する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 複数の個々のチャネルにおいて、選択されたブレークポイントに個々のチャネルのそれぞれの終了ポイントを同期させることを必要とするフィラーコンテンツが最小の長さに結果としてなる場合、ブレークポイントは、計算された持続時間間隔に最も近いプレイリスト、またはより短い持続時間の値を有する個々のチャネルの終了ポイントとして選ばれ得る、請求項1記載の方法。
- 個々のチャネルのそれぞれのプレイリストが、選択されたブレークポイントで終了するように、個々のチャネルのそれぞれのプレイリストにフィラーコンテンツを付加するステップ、
を更に有する請求項1記載の方法。 - プレイリストのための同期化されたブレークポイントを特定するシステムであって:
個々のチャネルコンテンツ、フィラーコンテンツ、及び少なくとも一つのブレークインチャネルコンテンツを提供するための少なくとも一つのコンテンツ・ソースと;
少なくとも、個々のチャネルコンテンツ、フィラーコンテンツ、ブレークインチャネルコンテンツ、及びプログラム命令に関する情報を記憶するためのメモリと、前記プログラム命令を実行するためのプロセッサとを含むコントローラと;
を有するシステムであって、
前記コントローラは、
単位時間当たりのブレーク回数を表す、定義されたブレーク頻度を使用して、ブレーク間隔持続時間を特定する手順と;
前記特定されたブレーク間隔持続時間から前記ブレーク間隔持続時間の間提示されるブレークインコンテンツの持続時間を引いた差を使用して、提示される個々のチャネルのコンテンツのための計算された持続時間間隔を特定する手順と;
個々のチャネルのそれぞれのプレイリストが、計算された持続時間間隔に等しくなることを試みるために、個々のチャネルのそれぞれのコンテンツ部分を選択することにより、コンテンツ部分を編集する手順と;
計算された持続時間間隔の終了ポイント、及び個々のチャネルのプレイリストの終了ポイントのうちの少なくとも1つであって、個々のチャネルのそれぞれの終了ポイントを選択されたブレークポイントに同期させるために必要とされるフィラーコンテンツを最小の長さとさせる、いずれかの終了ポイントを、全てのチャネルのブレークポイントとして選択する手順と;
を実行する、システム。 - 前記少なくとも一つのコンテンツ・ソースは、
広告主、レコード会社、及び映画スタジオのうちの少なくとも一つを含む、請求項11記載のシステム。 - 前記コントローラは、ネットワーク管理センタ、ネットワークオペレーション・センター、及びコンテンツ配信ネットワークのうちの少なくとも1つのサーバを含む、請求項11記載のシステム。
- 少なくとも一つの前記個々のチャネルは、小売を広告するチャネルを含む、請求項11記載のシステム。
- 前記フィラーコンテンツ、前記個々のチャネルのそれぞれのコンテンツの部分、及び前記ブレークインコンテンツのうちの少なくとも一つは、小売を広告しているメディアを含む、請求項11記載のシステム。
