Claims (5)
- 有底筒状の正極缶内にセパレータを介して正極合剤及びゲル状負極合剤が収容され、前記セパレータの底部中央部にある孔部を隔離材で閉塞することにより、前記ゲル状負極合剤と前記正極缶の底部とが隔離されたアルカリ電池において、
前記隔離材は、電池外部でのショートに起因した発熱による温度上昇過程で溶融軟化して前記孔部の閉塞を解除する熱可塑性樹脂からなり、
前記熱可塑性樹脂の溶融軟化に伴い、前記ゲル状負極合剤と前記正極缶の底部との間をつなぐ内部ショート経路が形成されうる
ことを特徴とするアルカリ電池。 - 前記隔離材は、融点が86℃以上106℃以下の熱可塑性樹脂からなることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のアルカリ電池。
- 前記隔離材は、融点が86℃以上106℃以下であり、前記孔部を閉塞し、かつ導電性が付与されていない第1の熱可塑性樹脂と、融点が86℃以上106℃以下であり、前記第1の熱可塑性樹脂と前記正極缶の底部との間に介在するように配置され、かつ導電性が付与された第2の熱可塑性樹脂とからなることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のアルカリ電池。
- 前記第1の熱可塑性樹脂及び前記第2の熱可塑性樹脂は、前記温度上昇過程で溶融軟化して混ざり合い、全体として導電性を得た状態となることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のアルカリ電池。
- 前記第1の熱可塑性樹脂及び前記第2の熱可塑性樹脂は同種のものであり、前記第2の熱可塑性樹脂にのみ導電物質が含有されていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のアルカリ電池。
