Claims (3)
- エンジンにおける冷却水の循環通路に設けられ、前記循環通路中の吸込通路から冷却水を取り込んで吐出通路を介して前記エンジンに冷却水を供給する可変流量式ポンプであって、
ハウジングと、
前記ハウジング内に形成され前記吸込通路に連通するインペラ室と、
前記ハウジング内に形成され前記吐出通路および前記インペラ室に連通する渦室と、
前記インペラ室に回動自在に支持され、前記回動に伴って前記吸込通路から取り込んだ冷却水を前記渦室を介して前記吐出通路に吐出するインペラと、
前記インペラを回動させる駆動手段とを備えて構成され、
前記渦室は、前記吐出通路に常時連通する主渦室と、開閉可能な切換え弁を有するサーモスタットを介して前記吐出通路に接続される副渦室とに分割して形成され、
前記サーモスタットは、前記副渦室から送り出される冷却水の水温に応じて前記副渦室と前記吐出通路とを連通遮断すべく開閉動作することを特徴とする可変流量式ポンプ。 - 前記副渦室が、更に複数に分割して形成された複数の分割渦室からなり、
前記複数の分割渦室と前記吐出通路との間には冷却水の水温に応じて前記複数の分割渦室と前記吐出通路とをそれぞれ連通遮断すべく開閉可能な切換え弁を有する複数のサーモスタットが配設され、
前記複数の分割渦室と前記吐出通路とを連通遮断する前記複数のサーモスタットの感応温度がそれぞれ異なる温度として設定されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の可変流量式ポンプ。 - 前記主渦室の容積が前記分割渦室の容積よりも小さく形成されていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の可変流量式ポンプ。
