Claims (13)
- 式IAで表される1種類以上の化合物と、式IBで表される1種類以上の化合物と、10〜40質量%の式VIIで表される1種類以上の化合物とを含む液晶媒体。
Y1は、H又はFであり、
Xは、F、Cl、または6個以下の炭素原子を有するハロゲン化アルキル、アルケニル、アルコキシ又はアルケニルオキシ基である。)
R 0 は、夫々9個以下の炭素原子を有するn−アルキル、アルコキシ、オキサアルキル、フルオロアルキル又はアルケニルであり、
X 0 は、F、Cl、1〜6個の炭素原子を有するハロゲン化アルキル、ハロゲン化アルケニル、ハロゲン化アルケニルオキシ又はハロゲン化アルコキシであり、
Z 0 は、−C 2 H 4 −、−(CH 2 ) 4 −、−CH=CH−、−CF=CF−、−C 2 F 4 −、−CH 2 CF 2 −、−CF 2 CH 2 −、−CH 2 O−、−OCH 2 −、−COO−、−OCF 2 −又は−CF 2 O−であり、
Y 1 〜Y 4 は、夫々互いに独立に、H又はFであり、

- 前記化合物は、式VIIaであることを特徴とする請求項6又は7記載の媒体。
- 1〜40質量%の範囲の式IAで表される化合物と、
1〜15質量%の範囲の式IBで表される化合物と、
10〜50質量%の範囲の式IIで表される化合物と、
10〜50質量%の範囲の式VIで表される化合物と、
を含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の媒体。 - 請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体を備える電気光学的液晶ディスプレイ。
- 請求項1で定義される式IA、IBおよびVIIで表される1種類以上の化合物と、請求項3〜9のいずれか1項で定義される1種類以上の化合物または更なる1種類以上の液晶化合物および/または添加剤とを混合して、請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載の液晶媒体を調製する方法。
