Description
また、少なくとも切刃部と軸部とが同条の場合、上記構成では、切刃部のリード(進行速度)が軸部のリード(進行速度)よりも大きくなり、軸部が所定の推進力を得て進行している際に、切刃部は空回りして下穴の確実な形成が可能になる。その結果、軸部のスムーズな進行を促進すると共に、軸部の進行に伴う部材を押し広げる力を低減して部材割れを防止する。

- 螺旋状のねじ山が形成された円柱状の軸部と、前記軸部の先端側に形成された切削部と、前記軸部の基端側に形成された頭部とを備え、前記ねじ山が木材等の部材に螺着される木ねじにおいて、
前記ねじ山は、
前記軸部の軸線に沿った断面形状において、前記軸部に連絡する第1の先端側谷部及び第1の基端側谷部と、前記軸部から最も離れた第1の頂部とを有し、前記軸線に直交し、且つ前記第1の頂部を通る第1の仮想平面を基準にして、前記第1の基端側谷部は前記第1の仮想平面よりも基端側に形成されており、
前記切削部は、
円錐状の芯部と、前記芯部に形成されて、前記部材に下孔を形成する螺旋状の切刃部と、を有し、
前記切刃部は、
前記軸部の軸線に沿った断面形状において、前記芯部に連絡する第2の先端側谷部及び第2の基端側谷部と、前記芯部から最も離れた第2の頂部とを有し、前記軸線に直交し、且つ前記第2の頂部を通る第2の仮想平面を基準にして、前記第2の基端側谷部は前記第2の仮想平面よりも先端側に形成されており、
前記切刃部のピッチは、前記ねじ山のピッチよりも大きく、且つ前記ねじ山のピッチの2倍よりも小さいことを特徴とする木ねじ。 - 前記切刃部は、前記第2の頂部と前記第2の基端側谷部とを結ぶ直線状の追い側フランク部を更に有し、前記追い側フランク部に沿った仮想直線と前記軸線との間で形成される挟角のうち、前記基端側の挟角は鋭角になることを特徴とする請求項1記載の木ねじ。
- 前記切刃部は複数条に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の木ねじ。
- 前記切刃部は二条に形成され、前記ねじ山は二条に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項3記載の木ねじ。
