Claims (8)
- 透明物質から成る第1電極と、
上記第1電極と異なる離隔距離を置いて対向して配置される2つ以上の第2電極と、
上記第1電極と上記それぞれの第2電極との間に配置され、上記第1及び第2電極に印加される電圧により光学的特性が変更する2つ以上のディスプレイユニットと、
を含み、
上記それぞれの第2電極は、異なる高さを有する2つ以上の段差部を有する下部構造物に形成され、
上記第2電極の間には、上記第1電極と上記第2電極との間に上記ディスプレイユニットを一ずつ収容するためのセル空間が形成されるように、複数の隔壁が形成され、
上記2つ以上の第2電極および上記2つ以上のディスプレイユニットが1つのピクセルを構成する電子ペーパー表示装置。 - 上記第1電極は、光透過性物質から成る第1基板上に形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電子ペーパー表示装置。
- 上記ディスプレイユニットは、異なる色で着色され、異なる帯電特性を示す2つの表示領域を有する回転体であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の電子ペーパー表示装置。
- 上記回転体は、球状、楕円状またはシリンダー状であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の電子ペーパー表示装置。
- 上記ディスプレイユニットは、異なる帯電特性を示す2種類の帯電粒子が分散された透明流体が封入されたマイクロカプセルであることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の電子ペーパー表示装置。
- 上記ディスプレイユニットは、透明流体及び上記透明流体に分散された異なる帯電特性を示す2種類の帯電粒子であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の電子ペーパー表示装置。
- 異なる高さを有する2つ以上の段差部を有する下部構造物を形成する段階と、
上記それぞれの段差部上に第1電極をそれぞれ形成する段階と、
上記第1電極の間に、上記下部構造物にディスプレイユニットを収容するためのセル空間が形成されるように、隔壁を形成する段階と、
上記それぞれのセル空間にディスプレイユニットを1つずつ配置する段階と、
上記第1電極と対向して配置され、上記ディスプレイユニットを覆うように第2電極を形成して上記第1電極と上記ディスプレイユニットが1つのピクセルを構成する段階と、
を含む電子ペーパー表示装置の製造方法。 - 上記下部構造物は、インプリント方式、射出成形(injection molding)、レーザパターニング、またはフォトリソグラフィ(photolithography)工程で形成されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の電子ペーパー表示装置の製造方法。
