Description
表2に列記した実施例A〜Dの感光性ガラス材料を、当業者に馴染みのある方法を用いて溶融した。微細な砂、ホウ酸、塩化ナトリウム、硝酸ナトリウム、ケイフッ化ナトリウム、三酸化二アンチモン、酸化亜鉛およびアルミナをバッチ材料として用いた。バッチ配合した混合物を60分間に亘りボールミル粉砕し、4時間に亘り約1425℃の温度で白金坩堝内で溶融し、幅4インチ(約10cm)、厚さ1インチ(約2.5cm)の厚板に注型し、650℃でアニールした。バッチ配合した状態の基準で濃度が質量%で与えられている。
実施例A〜Dのこのように形成されたガラス材料を、上述したように1mm厚のスライドに形成した。各スライドの一部を、10Hzで6〜20分間の期間に亘りKrFエキシマ・レーザからの248nmの放射線に露光した。パルス当たりのフルエンスは、約30〜60mJ/cm2に及んだ。次いで、スライドを、約2時間に亘り480〜520℃で炉内で熱処理し、室温まで冷却して、ブラッグ・グレーティングを形成した。
バッチから計算した質量パーセントで表して、66.9%のSiO2、6.5%のAl2O3、16.3%のNa2O、0.75%のK2O、6.5%のZnO、0.034%のAg、1.26%のBr、2.5%のF、および0.037%のCeO2の組成を有するフォトリフラクティブ・ガラス材料を溶融し、厚板に形成した。実施例Eについて、バッチ混合物(表4に詳述されている)を60分間に亘りボールミル粉砕し、4時間に亘り約1425℃の温度で白金坩堝内で溶融し、幅4インチ(約10cm)、厚さ1インチ(約2.5cm)の厚板に注型し、650℃でアニールした。
実施例Eの組成のガラス材料は、実際には、上述した4インチ幅(約10cm)、1インチ厚(約2.5cm)の厚板6枚に形成した。6枚の厚板に、10μmのグレーティング・ピッチを有するクロム吸収マスクを通して、10Hzで約12Wの平均パワーで355nmの放射線の出力により照射した。露光時間は、表6に詳述したように、3から30分まで5枚の試料について変えた。照射後、試料を2時間に亘り550℃で炉内において熱処理して、ブラッグ・グレーティングの形成を完了した。

Claims (3)
- Ce4+を含有しないアルカリアミノケイ酸塩NaF含有ガラスを作成するためのフォトリフラクティブ・ガラス組成物であって、
バッチから計算した質量パーセントで表して、65%〜75%のSiO2、5%〜12%のAl2O3、14%〜18%のNa2O、0〜5%のK2O、0〜7.5%のZnO、0.01%〜0.1%のSb2O3またはSnO、0.005%〜0.5%のAg、0.5%〜1.5%のBr、1.5%〜3.0%のF、0〜0.1%のCeO2、0〜0.5%のGeO 2 を含むフォトリフラクティブ・ガラス組成物。 - 前記ガラス組成物が、バッチから計算した質量パーセントで表して、69〜71%のSiO2、6〜7.5%のAl2O3、15〜17.5%のNa2O、4〜6%のZnO、0.01〜0.1%のSnO、0.01〜0.05%のSb2O3、0.005〜0.035%のAg、0.5〜1.5%のBr、2.0〜3.0%のF、0〜0.1%のCeO2、0〜5%のK2O、0〜0.5%のGeO 2 を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載のフォトリフラクティブ・ガラス組成物。
- 前記ガラス組成物が、バッチから計算した質量パーセントで表して、66.9%のSiO2、6.5%のAl2O3、16.3%のNa2O、6.5%のZnO、0〜1.0%のK2O、0.03〜0.05%のAg、1.26%のBr、2.0〜3.0%のF、0.01〜0.1%のCeO2、0.01〜0.1%のSb2O3またはSnO、0〜0.5%のGeO 2 を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載のフォトリフラクティブ・ガラス組成物。
