Description
なお、酢酸セルロース系樹脂フィルム2およびシクロオレフィン系樹脂フィルム3が積層される直前の偏光フィルム1の水分率を8重量%以上に維持するためには、具体的には、上述のように洗浄した後のポリビニルアルコール系樹脂フィルムを乾燥させる際の温度と時間を適宜調整すればよい。具体的には、乾燥炉が1個だけであれば、そこでの温度と滞留時間を適宜調整することにより、偏光フィルム1の水分率が調整できる。また、乾燥炉を2個またはそれ以上の多段で設け、各乾燥炉の温度、各乾燥炉での滞留時間を調整する方法も有効である。
平均重合度約2400、ケン化度99.9モル%以上で厚み75μmのポリビニルアルコールフィルムを、緊張状態に保ったまま、30℃の純水に浸漬し膨潤させながら、その中で延伸倍率1.3倍まで長手方向に延伸した。このポリビニルアルコールフィルムを、前記延伸倍率を保持した状態で、30℃のヨウ素およびヨウ化カリウムを含む水溶液(ヨウ素:ヨウ化カリウム:水=0.05:2:100(重量比))にて染色し、その後、54℃のヨウ化カリウムおよびホウ酸を含む水溶液(ヨウ化カリウム:ホウ酸:水=12:5:100(重量比))にて架橋処理を行いながら、総倍率5.6倍になるように延伸した後、12℃の純水で洗浄した。洗浄後のポリビニルアルコールフィルムを、温度が65℃、75℃および85℃に保たれた3つの乾燥炉にこの順で通過させ、合計滞留時間が169秒となる条件で乾燥して、ポリビニルアルコールにヨウ素が吸着配向された偏光フィルムのサンプル1〜5を得た。得られたサンプル1〜5について、105℃のオーブンで1時間乾燥させ、下記式によってその前後の重量から水分率を算出したところ、5%であった。
別途、100重量部の水に、カルボキシル基変性ポリビニルアルコール(クラレポバールKL318((株)クラレ製)3重量部と、水溶性ポリアミドエポキシ樹脂(スミレーズレジン650(住化ケムテックス(株)製)(固形分濃度30%の水溶液)1.5重量部を溶解させて、ポリビニルアルコール系樹脂を主成分とする水系の接着剤を調製した。
Claims (1)
- ポリビニルアルコール系樹脂からなる偏光フィルムの一方の面に水系接着剤を介して酢酸セルロース系樹脂フィルムを、他方の面に水系接着剤を介してシクロオレフィン系樹脂フィルムを積層して偏光板を製造する方法であって、
酢酸セルロース系樹脂フィルムおよびシクロオレフィン系樹脂フィルムが積層される直前の偏光フィルムの水分率を8重量%以上12重量%以下に維持し、かつ、偏光フィルムに酢酸セルロース系樹脂フィルムおよびシクロオレフィン系樹脂フィルムを積層した後、
張力を600N/m以下に保持しながら乾燥させる、偏光板の製造方法。
