Claims (23)
- データドライバを含む画像表示システムであって、
3つのカラー入力信号(R、G、B)から抽出された白色成分信号(W)に基づいて基準電圧を選択的に提供する基準電圧発生回路、および
前記基準電圧、前記3つのカラー入力信号と、前記白色成分信号に基づいて駆動電圧を発生するデジタルアナログ(D/A)変換ユニットを含む画像表示システム。 - 前記3つのカラー入力信号(R、G、B)から白色成分信号(W)を選択的に抽出する白色成分抽出ユニットを更に含む請求項1に記載の画像表示システム。
- 前記基準電圧発生回路は、第1、第2、第3と、第4電圧発生器を含み、前記第1〜第3電圧発生器は、前記白色成分信号に基づいて第1〜第3セットの基準電圧を発生し、前記第4電圧発生器は、第4セットの基準電圧を発生する請求項1に記載の画像表示システム。
- 前記デジタルアナログ(D/A)変換ユニットは、前記第1〜第4セットの基準電圧、前記3つのカラー入力信号と、前記白色成分信号に基づいて前記駆動電圧を選択的に発生する第1、第2、第3と、第4(D/A)コンバータを含む請求項3に記載の画像表示システム。
- 前記デジタルアナログ(D/A)変換ユニットは、前記第1〜第4(D/A)コンバータに接続され、前記3つのカラー入力信号と、前記白色成分信号を選択的に保持する複数のデジタル保持ユニットを更に含む請求項4に記載の画像表示システム。
- 前記デジタルアナログ(D/A)変換ユニットは、前記第1〜第4(D/A)コンバータからの前記駆動電圧を選択的に保持する複数のアナログ保持ユニットを更に含む請求項4に記載の画像表示システム。
- 前記駆動電圧に基づいてカラー画像を選択的に発生する4つのカラー(R、G、B、W)画素を含むディスプレイパネルを更に含む請求項1に記載の画像表示システム。
- 前記第1〜第3電圧発生器は、
直列接続された第1と第2抵抗列(resistor string)であって、それぞれが、直列接続された複数の抵抗と節点を含む第1と第2抵抗列、
前記第1抵抗列の前記節点のそれぞれと第1電圧の間に接続された第1デマルチプレクサ、および
前記第2抵抗列の前記節点のそれぞれと第2電圧の間に接続された第2デマルチプレクサであって、前記白色成分信号に基づいて前記第1デマルチプレクサが前記第1抵抗列の1つの節点に前記第1電圧を選択的に供給し、該第2デマルチプレクサが前記第2抵抗列の1つの節点に前記第2電圧を選択的に供給することで、前記第1〜第3セットの基準電圧を調節することができる第2デマルチプレクサをそれぞれ含む請求項3に記載の画像表示システム。 - 前記第4電圧発生器は、前記第1電圧と前記第2電圧の間に接続された第3抵抗列を含む請求項8に記載の画像表示システム。
- 前記第1、前記第2、前記第3電圧発生器の前記第1と第2抵抗列は、異なる抵抗値を示す請求項8に記載の画像表示システム。
- 前記ディスプレイパネルは、液晶ディスプレイパネルである請求項7に記載の画像表示システム。
- 前記ディスプレイパネルは、エレクトロルミネセンスパネルである請求項7に記載の画像表示システム。
- 前記ディスプレイパネルは、有機発光パネルである請求項7に記載の画像表示システム。
- 前記画像表示システムは、PDA、表示モニター、デジタルカメラ、ノート型コンピュータ、タブレット型コンピュータ、または携帯電話として実装される請求項1に記載の画像表示システム。
- 画像表示システムの駆動電圧を提供する方法であって、
3つのカラー入力信号(R、G、B)から抽出された白色成分信号(W)に基づいて基準電圧を発生するステップ、および
前記基準電圧、前記3つのカラー入力信号と、前記白色成分信号に基づいて駆動電圧を発生するステップを含む方法。 - 前記3つのカラー入力信号(R、G、B)から前記白色成分信号(W)を抽出するステップを更に含む請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記基準電圧は、前記白色成分信号にそれぞれ基づいて、前記3つのカラー入力信号に対応する第1、第2と、第3セットの基準電圧と、前記白色成分信号に対応する第4セットの基準電圧を含む請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記駆動電圧は、前記第1〜第4セットの基準電圧、前記3つのカラー入力信号と、前記白色成分信号に基づいて発生される請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記駆動電圧を発生する前に、前記白色成分信号(W)と前記3つのカラー入力信号(R、G、B)を保持するステップを更に含む請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記白色成分信号(W)と前記3つのカラー入力信号(R、G、B)はそれぞれ、Nビットを含むデジタルデータであり、前記白色成分信号(W)は、前記3つのカラー入力信号(R、G、B)にAND演算を行うことによって得られる請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記白色成分信号(W)と前記3つのカラー入力信号(R、G、B)はそれぞれ、Nビットを含むデジタルデータであり、前記白色成分信号(W)は、前記3つのカラー入力信号(R、G、B)のMビット、ただし、0<M<NにAND演算を行うことによって得られる請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記発生された駆動電圧を保持するステップを更に含む請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記画像表示システムは、ディスプレイ装置を含み、前記ディスプレイ装置は、有機発光装置、液晶ディスプレイ装置、またはエレクトロルミネセンス装置である請求項15に記載の方法。
