Description
ルまたは「隔壁」を提供する、カテーテル及びントロデューサ針アセンブリが当技術分野で開発された。これらの構造物は普通、漏れを防ぐために保管および使用中に針の形状にしっかり一致し、その後針の除去の際に密封するように設計されたエラストマー・プレートである。これらの隔壁は、望ましくない血液の漏れを防ぐために、針の除去中に切り欠き及び針先端を封入するように、フラッシュバック切り欠きを備えた針の中に延びている必要がある。このように隔壁が延びることにより、針の上に定置された摩擦量、及びそれを除去するのに必要な労力の量が大きくなる。これを回避するために、使用される針より僅かに大きい内径を有する内部キャビティを備えた隔壁が開発された。この結果、針がこのキャビティの外側の領域のみで隔壁と接触して、隔壁と接触する表面積が小さくなる。
本発明の隔壁は普通、遠位部及び近接部、キャビティ部、及び長手軸を備えている。遠位部は、装置のユーザから最も離れて、患者の最も近くに位置決めされて、1次シールとして働き、カテーテルからの血液の漏れを防ぐ。隔壁はまた、針上の摩擦を少なくするように、遠位部と近接部の間に配置されたキャビティ部を備えている。キャビティ部は普通、針の除去中の摩擦を少なくするように、隔壁で使用される針の外径より大きいまたはこれと等しい内径を有する。したがって、一部の構成では、隔壁はその遠位部及び近接部のみで針と接触し、他の構成では、その長さに沿って針と接触する。隔壁の近接部は、キャビティからの材料の漏れを防ぐ2次シールとして働き、キャビティを密封し、引き出されているときに針を拭き取る。

位部60は全体的に、保管中、及びその後針が引き出された場合に、イントロデューサ針を中心としてしっかり圧縮することによってアセンブリ20に対する1次シールとして働くように構成されて、流体の漏れを防ぐように針を中心として径方向にしっかり閉じる。隔壁10の近接部50は、隔壁10のキャビティ部70を閉じる2次シールとして働く。いくつかの実施形態では、隔壁10の近接部50は、隔壁10を通して引き出されたときに針から流体を拭き取るようにスキージとして働くことができる。隔壁10は、これに限らないが、ポリイソプレンなどの熱可塑性エラストマー、またはシリコーンなどの熱硬化性エラストマーを含む、様々な適切な材料で作ることができる。

Claims (4)
- 内部を貫通する針を中心としてシールを提供し、該針が操作者側に引き出された場合に密閉する隔壁アセンブリであって、
隔壁ハウジングと、
該隔壁ハウジング内に挿入され、操作者から最も遠位に位置するとともにシールを供する遠位部、使用時に最も操作者に近接する近接部、及び該遠位部と近接部の間に位置する領域と近接部とを貫通して延びるキャビティを有する一体型隔壁とを備え、
前記近接部は径方向外側に突出するとともに互いに対向する少なくとも2つのフレア状領域を有し、前記一体型隔壁が隔壁ハウジング内に配置されると隔壁ハウジングにより前記少なくとも2つのフレア状領域が径方向に圧縮されることにより近接部においてキャビティが閉じて近接部がシールを供する隔壁アセンブリ。 - 針と、
所定の形状を有し、内部に針が配置されたハウジングと、
該ハウジング内において前記針を中心として配置され、使用時に操作者から最も遠位に位置するとともにシールを供する遠位部、使用時に最も操作者に近接する近接部、及び該近接部と該遠位部の間に位置する領域及び近接部を貫通して延び、かつ針の外径より大きいまたはそれと等しい内径を有するキャビティを有するとともに、内部を貫通する針を中心としてシールを提供し、針が操作者側に引き出された場合に密閉する一体型の密封手段と、からなる針密封アセンブリであって、
前記近接部は径方向外側に突出するとともに径方向において互いに対向する少なくとも2つのフレア状領域を有し、前記一体型の密閉手段が前記ハウジング内に配置されるとハウジングにより前記少なくとも2つのフレア状領域が径方向に圧縮されることにより近接部においてキャビティが閉じて近接部がシールを供する針密封アセンブリ。 - 針の保管、使用、及び除去中にカテーテル・アダプタを密封する方法であって、
ハウジングと、使用時に最も操作者に近接する近接端及び使用者から最も遠位に位置するとともに孔を備えた遠位端を有するイントロデューサ針とを備えたカテーテル・アダプタを提供する工程と、
前記ハウジング内に針を中心として配置され、近接隔壁部、シールを供する遠位隔壁部、及び該近接隔壁部と遠位隔壁部の間に位置する領域及び近接隔壁部を貫通して延びるとともに針の外径より大きいまたはそれと等しい内径を有するキャビティを有し、内部を貫通する針を中心としてシールを提供し、針が操作者側に引き出された場合に密閉する一体型エラストマー隔壁を提供する工程とからなる方法であって、
前記近接隔壁部は径方向外側に突出するとともに径方向において互いに対向する少なくとも2つのフレア状領域を有し、前記一体型エラストマー隔壁が前記ハウジング内に配置されるとハウジングにより前記少なくとも2つのフレア状領域が径方向に圧縮されることにより近接隔壁部においてキャビティが閉じて近接隔壁部がシールを供する方法。 - 前記イントロデューサ針は孔に隣接した切り欠きと、同切り欠きとイントロデューサ針の孔の遠位端との間の距離である切り欠き距離とを有し、前記一体型エラストマー隔壁は該切り欠き距離より大きい全長を有する請求項3に記載のカテーテル・アダプタを密封する方法。
