Description
なお、本明細書における「ウエット・オン・ウエット法」とは、下層の塗料が硬化しない状態で上層の塗料を塗布することであり、上層の塗料塗布前に下層の溶剤または水分を蒸発させる程度のプレヒート処理を行う複層塗膜形成法を含むものである。
すなわち本発明は、
下記の主剤(a)と硬化剤(b)からなる2液型中塗り塗料組成物を提供するものである。
主剤(a):1分子中に2個以上の末端水酸基を有するポリエステル樹脂、水酸基含有アクリル系モノマーを含むアクリル樹脂、顔料、及びセルロース誘導体を含有し、
前記ポリエステル樹脂は、数平均分子量(Mn)が900〜3000、全酸成分中の芳香族ポリカルボン酸成分及び/又は脂環式ポリカルボン酸成分の割合が80質量%以上であり、前記アクリル樹脂は、数平均分子量(Mn)が2000〜10000、炭素数4以上のアルキル側鎖を有するエチレン性不飽和モノマー単位を40〜80質量%含有し、ガラス転移温度(Tg)が30℃以下である;
硬化剤(b):1分子中に2個以上の遊離のイソシアネート基を有するポリイソシアネート化合物からなる。

合成例1
撹拌機、温度調節機、冷却管を備えた2Lの反応容器に表1のポリエステル樹脂1の欄に示す成分を仕込み、昇温した。反応により生成する水をキシレンと共沸させて除去した。還流開始より約2時間をかけて温度を190℃にし、カルボン酸相当の酸価が8になるまで撹拌と脱水を継続し、反応を終了した。さらにキシレン16部を加えた。得られたポリエステル樹脂は数平均分子量1500であり、不揮発分は80%であった。
表1のポリエステル樹脂2または3の欄に示す成分および特数値に変更した以外は、合成例1と同様の方法でポリエステル樹脂2または3を合成した。
合成例4
窒素導入管、撹拌機、温度調節機、滴下ロート及びデカンターを備えた冷却管を取り付けた1Lの反応容器にキシレン80部、酢酸ブチル20部及びt-ブチルパーオキシ-2-エチルヘキサノエート4部を仕込み、温度を120℃にした。次に、表2のアクリル樹脂1の欄に示す成分を滴下ロートに仕込みモノマー溶液とした。反応容器内を120℃に保持しながら3時間かけてこのモノマー溶液を滴下した。滴下後さらに1時間120℃で保持した。数平均分子量3000のアクリル樹脂1を得た。
表2のアクリル樹脂2または3の欄に示す成分及び特数値に変更した以外は、合成例4と同様の方法でアクリル樹脂2または3を合成した。
実施例1A
合成例1で得られたポリエステル樹脂1を31.5部、タイペークCR−97(石原産業社製二酸化チタン)19.2部、MA−100(三菱カーボン社製カーボン顔料)4.8部、硫酸バリウムB−34(堺化学工業社製硫酸バリウム)16部を1Lのステンレス容器に仕込み、ペイントコンディショナーを用いて室温で45分間混合分散し、顔料ペーストを得た。得られた顔料ペーストに、合成例4で得られたアクリル樹脂1を31.5部、ジブチル錫ジラウレート(DBTL)0.03部およびセルロースアセテートブチレート(CAB)0.5部を添加し、ラボミキサーでさらに30分間攪拌混合し、主剤(a)を得た。塗装前に、更に、硬化剤(b)であるスミジュールN−3200(住友バイエルウレタン社製HDIビュレット体)37部を添加して、中塗り塗料1を得た。なお、配合量(部)は固形分で表示した。
梨地鋼板を被塗素材とし、常法に従って洗浄リン酸亜鉛処理を行った後、カチオン型電着塗料(日本ペイント(株)製パワートップU−100)を使用して電着塗装し、170℃×20分の条件で乾燥処理し、厚さ15μmの下塗り塗膜を形成した。次いで下塗り塗膜上に、上記中塗り塗料1をトルエン/ソルベッソ100(シェル化学製)/酢酸ブチル=2/6/2(質量比)の希釈シンナーを用いて、塗装粘度(22”/#4FC)に希釈したものを使用し、回転式静電塗装機を用いて、回転数:30000rpm、シェビング・エア圧:2.0Kg/cm2、印加電圧:−90KV、被塗物との距離:30cmの設定条件で中塗り塗装を行った。ついで80℃×10分の条件で加熱処理をして試験材1aを得た。
表3に示す成分に変更した以外は、実施例1Aと同様の方法で塗膜を形成し、実施例2A〜7Aから試験材2a〜7aを得た。また、比較例1A〜7Aから試験材8a〜14aを得た。
試験材1a〜14aを用いて、下記の方法によりゲル分率を測定した。
試験材から塗膜をカッター等で剥がし、塗膜質量(A)を測定した。この塗膜を用いてアセトン中還流温度で3時間抽出を行い、乾燥後に再度質量を測定し、抽出後塗膜質量(B)を得た。ゲル分率は下記の式より計算した。
ゲル分率={抽出後塗膜質量(B)/塗膜質量(A)}x100
得られたゲル分率と試験材1a〜14aの外観を表4に示す。なお、外観は以下の基準で塗膜表面を目視で評価した。

80℃、10分の加熱処理を行わなかったこと以外は、実施例1Aと同様に本発明品である中塗り塗料組成物を塗布した。その後、霧化式静電塗装機を用い、霧化エア圧:3.0Kg/cm2、パターンエア圧:2.0Kg/cm2、パターン幅:30cm、印加電圧:−60KV、被塗物距離:30cmの設定条件で、日本ペイント(株)製水性メタリックベース塗料「アクアレックスAR−2100」(粘度:45"/#4FC)(シルバーメタリック色)を、ウエット・オン・ウエット方式で塗布した。3分後、80℃、10分間のプレヒートを行った。冷却後、ベース塗料上に、回転式静電塗装機を用い、回転数:35000rpm、シェービング・エア圧:1.5Kg/cm2、印加電圧:−90KV、被塗物距離:30cmの設定条件で、日本ペイント(株)製クリヤー塗料「マックフローO−1820」(粘度:22"/#4FC)を塗布した。ついで中塗り塗膜、ベース塗膜、クリヤー塗膜を同時に、140℃×30分の条件で焼付け硬化させ、試験材1bを得た。
なお、塗装ブース内は、温度25℃、相対湿度80%に保持した。また、中塗り塗装とベース塗料による塗装との間隔(インターバル)は5分、ベース塗料とクリヤー塗料による塗装との間に、ベース塗装後、80℃で10分間プレヒートを行った後、クリヤー塗料による塗装を行い、その後7分間のインターバルをとって140℃、30分間の焼付け硬化を行った。中塗り塗膜の乾燥膜厚は30μm、ベース塗膜の乾燥膜厚は15μm、クリヤー塗膜の乾燥膜厚は35μmとした。
表3に示す成分に変更して中塗り塗膜を形成した以外は、実施例1Bと同様にして複層塗膜を形成し、実施例2B〜7Bから試験材2b〜7bを得た。また、比較例1B〜7Bから試験材8b〜14bを得た。
試験材1b〜14bの外観を目視で評価し、以下の基準により○、△、×で表した。結果を表5に示す。
○:平滑性に優れ、光沢感がある。
△:平滑性はあるが、やや光沢感が劣る。
×:平滑性及び光沢感が劣る(オレンジピール)。
Claims (1)
- 下記の主剤(a)と硬化剤(b)からなる2液型中塗り塗料組成物であって、中塗り塗装、ベース塗装、クリヤー塗装を3コート1ベーク方式のウェット・オン・ウエット法により塗装する際の前記中塗り塗装に使用する2液型中塗り塗料組成物。
主剤(a):1分子中に2個以上の末端水酸基を有するポリエステル樹脂、水酸基含有アクリル系モノマーを含むアクリル樹脂、顔料、及びセルロース誘導体を含有し、
前記ポリエステル樹脂は、数平均分子量(Mn)が900〜3000、全酸成分中の芳香族ポリカルボン酸成分及び/又は脂環式ポリカルボン酸成分の割合が80質量%以上であり、前記アクリル樹脂は、数平均分子量(Mn)が2000〜10000、炭素数4以上のアルキル側鎖を有するアクリル系モノマー単位を40〜80質量%含有し、ガラス転移温度(Tg)が30℃以下である;
硬化剤(b):1分子中に2個以上の遊離のイソシアネート基を有するポリイソシアネート化合物からなる。
