Claims (17)
- ポリマー安定型配向(PSA)処理の混合液晶であって:
少なくとも一組のいかなるアルケニル基も有さない第1の液晶化合物;
少なくとも一組の第2の液晶化合物であり、該化合物のそれぞれが、メタクリレート基を除いて少なくとも1つのアルケニル基を有し、前記一組の第1及び第2の液晶化合物の全重量の約0.1乃至20重量%(wt%)という範囲で濃度を有する第2の液晶化合物;並びに、
少なくとも一組のメタクリレート基を有する反応性単量体;
を含み、
前記第2の液晶化合物が化学式(1)の化合物:
を含み、
R7が、2から8個の炭素原子を有するアルケニル基であり、R8が、1から8個の炭素原子を有するアルキル基である、混合液晶。 - 酸素(O)原子が互いに直接結合しないように、R6の1又は2の隣接していないCH2基が、−O−、−CH=CH−、−CO−、−OCO−、又は、−COO−と置換される、請求項2に記載の混合液晶。

約30から70wt%の化学式(9)の化合物;
約10から50wt%の化学式(10)の化合物;

約0.1から20wt%の前記第2の液晶化合物;

Lmが、独立して、F、Cl、CN、又は、1から7個の炭素原子を有するアルキル基、アルキルカルボニル基、アルコキシカルボニル基、若しくは、アルキルカルボニロキシ基であり;
m≧1であり;
n≧1であり;さらに、
Q1及びQ2が、独立して、−O−、−S−、−CO−、−COO−、−OCO−、−OCH2−、−SCH2−、−CH2S−、−CH=CH−COO−、−OCC−CH=CH−、−CF2O−、−OCF2−、−CF2S−、−SCF2−、−C2H4−、−CF2CH2−、−CH2CF2−、−CF2CF2−、−CH=CH−、−CF=CF−,−C≡C−、又は一重結合である;
請求項1に記載の混合液晶。 - Rが1から12個の炭素原子を有する直鎖又は分岐鎖のアルキル基である場合、O及び/又はS原子が互いに直接結合しないように、Rの1又は2の隣接していないCH2基が、−O−、−S−、−CH=CH−、−CO−、−OCO−、−COO−、−S−CO−、−CO−S−、又は、アルキン(−C≡C−)で置換される、請求項9に記載の混合液晶。
- P1又はP2がメタクリレートである、請求項9に記載の混合液晶。
- P1及びP2が、どちらもメタクリレートである、請求項11に記載の混合液晶。
- Lが、1から7個の炭素原子を有するアルキル基、アルキルカルボニル基、アルコキシカルボニル基、又は、アルキルカルボニロキシ基である場合、1又は複数のそのH原子が、F又はClで置換される、請求項9に記載の混合液晶。
- 前記反応性単量体が、熱重合が可能な、又は、光重合が可能な反応性単量体である、請求項1に記載の混合液晶。
- 一組の、0%≦X≦0.002重量%を満たすXという濃度を有する開始剤をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の混合液晶。
- PSA液晶ディスプレイ装置であって:
上側基板及び下側基板;並びに
前記上側基板と前記下側基板との間に配置される混合液晶;
を含み、
該混合液晶が:
少なくとも一組のいかなるアルケニル基も有さない第1の液晶化合物;
少なくとも一組の第2の液晶化合物であり、該化合物のそれぞれが、メタクリレート基を除いて少なくとも1つのアルケニル基を有し、前記混合液晶における前記一組の第1及び第2の液晶化合物の全重量の約0.1乃至20重量%という濃度を有する第2の液晶化合物;並びに、
少なくとも一組のメタクリレートを有する反応性単量体;
を含み、
前記第2の液晶化合物が化学式(18)の化合物:
R7が、2から8個の炭素原子を有するアルケニル基であり、R8が、1から8個の炭素原子を有するアルキル基である、装置。 - PSA液晶ディスプレイ装置であって:
上側基板及び下側基板;並びに
前記上側基板と前記下側基板との間に配置される混合液晶;
を含み、
該混合液晶が:
少なくとも一組のいかなるアルケニル基も有さない第1の液晶化合物;
少なくとも一組の第2の液晶化合物であり、該化合物のそれぞれが、メタクリレート基を除いて少なくとも1つのアルケニル基を有し、前記混合液晶における前記一組の第1及び第2の液晶化合物の全重量の約0.1乃至20重量%という濃度を有する第2の液晶化合物;並びに、
メタクリレート基を有する一組の反応性単量体によって少なくとも前記下側基板の表面上に形成される少なくとも一組の重合体;
を含み、
前記第2の液晶化合物が化学式(19)の化合物:
R7が、2から8個の炭素原子を有するアルケニル基であり、R8が、1から8個の炭素原子を有するアルキル基である、装置。
