Claims (3)
- 酸素イオン伝導性を有するポンプ用固体電解質、及び、前記ポンプ用固体電解質の両面に設けられた一対のポンプ用電極、から構成されるポンピングセルと、酸素イオン伝導性を有する測定用固体電解質、及び、前記測定用固体電解質の両面に設けられた一対の測定用電極、から構成されるセンシングセルと、前記ポンピングセル及び前記センシングセル間に設けられた測定対象ガスを拡散律速させるガス律速体と、前記ポンプ用電極間に定電流を供給する定電流源と、前記測定用電極間に定電圧を供給する定電圧源と、前記測定用電極間に流れる電流を検出する電流検出手段と、が設けられた空燃比検出装置において、
前記検出対象ガスが還元雰囲気のときの前記ポンピングセルの限界電流より大きく、かつ、前記検出対象ガスが酸化雰囲気のときの前記ポンピングセルの限界電流より小さい大きさの定電流を供給するように前記定電流源が、設けられ、そして、
前記ポンプ用電極間の電圧の大きさに基づいて前記検出対象ガスが酸化雰囲気であるか、還元雰囲気であるかを判別する酸化・還元雰囲気判別手段が、設けられている
ことを特徴とする空燃比検出装置。 - 前記酸化・還元雰囲気判別手段が、前記ポンプ用電極間の電圧の大きさが第1の閾値以上のときに前記検出対象ガスが還元雰囲気であると判別して、前記ポンプ用電極間の電圧の大きさが前記第1の閾値と等しい、又は、前記第1の閾値より小さい第2の閾値以下のときに前記検出対象ガスが酸化雰囲気であると判別するように設定されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の空燃比検出装置。 - 前記電流検出手段により検出された前記電流の検出値を増幅するアンプと、
前記酸化・還元雰囲気判別手段による判別結果に基づいて酸化雰囲気から還元雰囲気に切り替わるときの前記検出値が基準値になるように前記アンプのゲインを調整するゲイン調整手段と、が設けられている
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の空燃比検出装置。
