仮想計算機におけるI/Oデバイスの共有に関する技術は特開2006−85543号公報に記載されている。
また、I/Oデバイスに特化した障害処理は、管理仮想計算機上のアダプタドライバが実施する為に、I/Oデバイスを共有していない仮想計算機に対しての影響を抑えることが可能となる。

Claims (2)
- 物理計算機上でハイパバイザの制御下で複数の仮想計算機が走行し、前記複数の仮想計算機にはユーザに提供される複数のユーザ仮想計算機と管理仮想計算機が含まれ、前記複数のユーザ仮想計算機がハイパバイザの制御下で物理I/Oデバイスを共有使用する仮想計算機システムのI/Oデバイス障害処理方法において、
前記共有使用する物理I/Oデバイスは、物理レジスタを備え、
前記ハイパバイザは、前記物理レジスタを仮想的に分割し、前記管理仮想計算機が使用する管理仮想計算機用の論理レジスタ及び前記ユーザ仮想計算機が使用するユーザ仮想計算機用の論理レジスタを提供し、
前記ハイパバイザは、前記物理I/Oデバイスの障害監視を行い、前記ユーザ仮想計算機及び前記管理仮想計算機が共有使用する物理I/Oデバイスに障害が発生すると、前記物理レジスタに設定されたステータスを参照して前記障害を検出し、
前記管理仮想計算機用の論理レジスタに実障害を示すステータスを設定して、前記管理仮想計算機に対する割り込みを生成し、
前記ユーザ仮想計算機用の論理レジスタに仮想障害を示すステータスを設定して、前記ユーザ仮想計算機に対する割り込みを生成し、
前記管理仮想計算機に対する割り込みにより、前記管理仮想計算機は、前記管理仮想計算機用の論理レジスタに設定された前記実障害を示すステータスを参照して、前記共有使用する物理I/Oデバイスの障害リカバリ処理を行い、
前記ユーザ仮想計算機に対する割り込みにより、前記ユーザ仮想計算機は、前記ユーザ仮想計算機用の論理レジスタに設定された前記仮想障害を示すステータスを参照して、I/O駆動抑止を行うことを特徴とする仮想計算機システムのI/Oデバイス障害処理方法。 - 前記管理仮想計算機用の論理レジスタは、前記管理仮想計算機のアダプタドライバにより使用され、
前記管理仮想計算機のアダプタドライバは、前記障害リカバリ処理を行い、
前記ユーザ仮想計算機用の論理レジスタは、前記ユーザ仮想計算機のアダプタドライバにより使用され、
前記ユーザ仮想計算機のアダプタドライバは、前記I/O駆動抑止を行うことを特徴とする請求項1記載の仮想計算機システムのI/Oデバイス障害処理方法。
