Claims (11)
- アーマチュアバー(16)と液圧ヘッダクリップ(18)との間にロウ接継手を形成する方法であって、
a)前記アーマチュアバーの端部と、液圧ヘッダクリップと、実質的にリンを含有しないロウ付け材料(50、52)とを組立てる段階と、
b)前記アーマチュアバーと液圧ヘッダクリップとロウ付け材料との組立体を、前記クリップが誘導加熱コイル内に挿入されるようにロウ付けチャンバ(60)内に配置する段階と、
c)前記誘導加熱コイルに電流を印加することによって、前記組立体を前記ロウ付け材料の固相線温度から200°F以内かつ該固相線温度以下の第1の温度に加熱し、この温度を所定期間にわたって保持する段階(86、88)と、
d)前記組立体を前記ロウ付け材料の液相線温度以上の第2の温度に加熱する段階(90)と、
e)前記アーマチュアバーの端部上に液体ロウ付け材料のプールを形成する段階と、
f)前記組立体を冷却し、それによって前記アーマチュアバーの端部上にロウ付け層を形成する段階(94)と、
を具備する方法。 - 前記段階(b)〜(f)が、前記ロウ付けチャンバ(60)内部で実質的に酸素を含有しない雰囲気内で行われることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記実質的に酸素を含有しない雰囲気が、実質的に窒素及び水素であることを特徴とする請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記実質的に酸素を含有しない雰囲気が、実質的に全てが水素であることを特徴とする請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記実質的に酸素を含有しない雰囲気が、400ppm未満の酸素レベルを有することを特徴とする請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記加熱する段階の間に、前記クリップに力(81)を加えて前記組立体を押固める段階をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記力(81)が、前記クリップの側面カバーに加えられ、前記側面カバーが前記アーマチュアバーに当接して並置されることを特徴とする請求項6記載の方法。
- 前記力が、100〜1800ポンドの範囲内にあることを特徴とする請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記アーマチュアバーが前記チャンバ(60)内に垂直に配置され、前記バーが、中実ストランド(34)と前記中実ストランドの中実自由端部を越えて軸方向に延びる中空自由端部を有する中空ストランド(36)とを含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記アーマチュアバー(16)が、銅、銅−ニッケル合金及びステンレス鋼の少なくとも1つで形成された中実及び中空ストランド(34、36)を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記アーマチュアバーの端部上に液体ロウ付け材料のプールを形成する段階では、前記中実ストランドの自由端部のみに該プールを形成させ、前記中空ストランドの自由端部には前記液体ロウ付け材料を流さないことを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の方法。
