Description
図3は、本発明の第1実施形態を構成するセンサアレイチップの構造を示す。電極10および電極11は、導電物質の連続した小片である。電極10および電極11の少なくとも1つは透明である。適切な電極材料としては、金属、導電性金属酸化物、合金、半導体、および当該分野で知られる他の物質が含まれる。適切な透明電極材料としては、インジウム酸化錫(ITO)、他の導電性金属酸化物、および当該分野で知られる他の物質が含まれる。
〔実施形態2〕
図9は、センサチップの構成を示す。電極34は、第1物質または第2物質によって被覆されない。電極35は、第1物質の層によって被覆される。電極35上の第1物質の層の上面には、第2物質の島状部36が複数堆積され、センサ部位を形成している。図4および図5の等価回路から、任意のセンサ部位における第2物質の位置は、センサ部位の機能を変化させないことが明らかである。
〔実施形態3〕
図10は、センサチップの構成を示す。電極37および電極38の少なくとも1つは、第1物質によって被覆されている。電極37および電極38の少なくとも1つは、センサ部位を形成するために堆積された第2物質の島状部39を複数有する。図4および図5の等価回路から、任意のセンサ部位における第1物質または第2物質の位置は、センサ部位の機能を変化させないことは明らかである。
〔実施形態4〕
図11は、センサチップの構成を示す。電極40は、導電性物質の一片を備え、センサ部位を形成するために堆積された第2物質の島状部41を複数有する。電極42は2つ以上の分離した電極を有する。電極42は第1物質によって被覆される。各電極42の上の第1物質層の正確な組成は異なってもよい。
〔実施形態5〕
図12は、センサチップの構成を示す。電極43はパターニングされず、第1物質によって被覆される。電極44は、センサ部位を区切るように、フォトリソグラフィー、マスク蒸着、スクリーンプリンティング、または他の技術を用いてパターニングされ、第2物質は、電極44上で区切られたセンサ部位において堆積する。
〔実施形態6〕
図13は、センサチップの構成を示す。電極45は、センサ部位を区切るためにパターニングされ、第2物質は、区切られたセンサ部位において堆積する。電極46は、センサ部位を区切るためにパターニングされる。2つ以上の異なる第1物質は、異なるセンサ部位上において被覆される(例えば47および48)。
〔実施形態7〕
図14は、センサチップの構成を示す。プレート49は、ガラス、プラスティック、または同様の物質からなるプレートを有する。電極50は、センサ部位を区切るためにパターニングされる。各センサ部位51は互いに入り込んでいる電極を有するのが好ましい。各センサ部位において、1つの電極(例えば52)は第1物質によって被覆される。もう一方の電極(例えば53)は、その上に堆積した第2物質を有する。この場合の第1電極はまた、第1物質上に堆積した第2物質を有してもよい。
〔実施形態8〕
図15は、センサチップの構成を示す。電極56は第1物質によって被覆される。電極57は、センサ部位を区切るためにパターニングされている。そして、第2物質はセンサ部位の上に堆積する。電極57の上のセンサ部位は複数のオフチップ相互接続部58に接続される。各部位はその相互接続部を有してもよく、または、複数部位は同じ相互接続部に接続されてもよい。上記複数相互接続部によって、異なるセンサ部位において異なる駆動信号を用いることができる。
〔実施形態9〕
図16は、センサチップの構成を示す。プレート59は、ガラス、プラスティック、または同様の材料からなるプレートを有する。電極60は、センサ部位を区切るためにパターニングされる。各センサ部位61は、互いに入り込んでいる電極を有することが好ましい。各センサ部位において、1つの電極が第1物質によって被覆される。もう一方の電極は、その上に堆積した第2物質を有する。この場合の第1電極はまた、第1物質上に堆積した第2物質を有してもよい。
〔実施形態10〕
図17は、センサチップの構成を示す。電極63は第1物質によって被覆される。電極64は、その上に堆積された第2物質の島状部65を複数有する。電極64はオフチップ電気相互接続部を有さない。空中線66は、駆動信号および入力電圧を外部装置から無線手段によって受信する。上記チップは上記外部装置に電磁結合されることが好ましい。
〔実施形態11〕
図18は、センサチップの構成を示す。電極68は第1物質によって被覆される。電極69は、その上に堆積された第2物質の島状部70を複数有する。1つ、または両方の電極は、被分析物含有液体がチップ内部へ入り込み得るように多孔性である、または複数の孔71を有する。

図19は、センサチップの構成を示す。電極72は第1物質によって被覆される。電極73は、その上に堆積された第2物質の島状部74を複数有する。

図20は、液体セルにおいて使用されるセンサチップの構成を示す。電極76は第1物質によって被覆される。電極77は、その上に堆積された第2物質の島状部78を複数有する。
〔実施例1〕
本実施例は、第1物質によって被覆された電極を有するセンサピクセルの操作に関する。センサアレイは、多くのこのようなピクセルから組み立てられると考えてもよい。図21は、センサピクセルの設計を示す。被分析物含有液体は、インジウム酸化錫からなる電極80と、銀の表面を有する電極82との間に含まれる。電極80は透明で、電極82は、内部で機械加工された穴83を有する。ガラスプレート84によってピクセルは完成する。
Claims (18)
- 1つのサンプルの少なくとも1つの被分析物を検知する、少なくとも1つのセンサ部位を備えるセンサであって、
上記少なくとも1つのセンサ部位は、少なくとも1つの第1電極と少なくとも1つの第2電極との間に配置された第1物質および第2物質を備え、上記少なくとも1つの第1電極および上記少なくとも1つの第2電極は、電流を受け取るように構成されており、
上記第2物質は、上記サンプルと接触し、受け取った上記電流に応じて、上記サンプル中の上記被分析物の存在または量に従って、上記第2物質を通過する電荷または上記第2物質の電位を変化させるように構成されており、
上記第1物質は、上記第1物質を通過する電荷または上記第1物質の電位の関数で示される光学特性を有することを特徴とするセンサ。 - 上記第1物質および上記第2物質は、上記第1電極および上記第2電極の間において、電気的に直列であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のセンサ。
- 上記第1電極および上記第2電極の少なくとも1つは透明であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のセンサ。
- 上記第1電極および上記第2電極は、無線受信機に接続されており、
上記無線受信機は、電源に対して電磁結合するためのコイルを備えていることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載のセンサ。 - 上記サンプルは、液体サンプルであることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載のセンサ。
- 複数のセンサ部位を備えており、
上記複数のセンサ部位は、上記サンプル中の複数の異なる被分析物に対して感度を有することを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載のセンサ。 - 上記少なくとも1つの第1電極は、複数の上記第1電極を備えており、上記第1電極の少なくともいくつかは、互いに接続されていることを特徴とする請求項1から4の何れか1項に記載のセンサ。
- 上記第1電極の少なくともいくつかは、共通のパターニングされていない電極の部分を備えていることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のセンサ。
- 上記第1物質および上記第2物質の一方は、上記共通のパターニングされていない電極上に形成されている層を備えていることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のセンサ。
- 上記第1物質および上記第2物質の他方は、上記第1物質および上記第2物質の一方の上に、上記複数のセンサ部位を形成する島状部として形成されていることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のセンサ。
- 上記第1電極および上記第2電極は、上記少なくとも1つのセンサ部位において、互いに入り込んでいることを特徴とする請求項1から7のいずれか1項に記載のセンサ。
- 上記第1電極および上記第2電極はそれぞれ、上記第1物質および上記第2物質によって被覆されていることを特徴とする請求項11に記載のセンサ。
- 上記第1電極および上記第2電極は、上記サンプルが上記第2物質に対して接近できるよう隔てて設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1から10のいずれか1項に記載のセンサ。
- 上記第1電極および上記第2電極の少なくとも1つは、上記サンプルが通過する複数の穴を有することを特徴とする請求項13に記載のセンサ。
- 上記被分析物それぞれが拡散するように、上記第1電極と上記第2電極との間に配置されるゲルまたは固体を備えていることを特徴とする請求項13または14に記載のセンサ。
- 請求項1から15のいずれか1項に記載のセンサと組み合わされた、光学特性の値を読み取る光学式読み取り装置。
- 上記第1物質に光学放射を照射する放射源と、上記光学特性の値を検出する検出器とを備えていることを特徴とする請求項16に記載の光学式読み取り装置。
- 上記光学放射は、赤外線放射、可視光放射、および紫外線放射の少なくとも1つであることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の光学式読み取り装置。
