Description
(項目1)
ePTFE構造を製造する方法であって、未焼結の膨張してないPTFE押出物を準備する準備工程と、第1のノード及びその中にフィブリル微細構造を有するePTFE構造を生じるために未焼結押出物を最初に膨張する第1の膨張工程と、ePTFE構造の少なくとも一部が部分的に焼結されるように、十分な継続時間その温度を上げるためにePTFE構造を加熱する加熱工程とを含み、上記加熱工程は、第1の膨張の少なくとも一部が保持されるePTFE構造を与え、保持される第1の膨張の少なくとも一部でePTFE構造部分が完全に焼結されないように温度及び継続時間を制限することを提供する方法。
(項目2)
膨張していないPTFE押出物は膨張していないPTFE未処理チューブ押出物によって形成され、上記準備工程は膨張していないPTFE未処理チューブ押出物を準備する工程を含んでなり、上記第1の膨張工程は膨張していない未処理チューブ押出物からePTFEチューブ構造を生じる、項目1に記載の方法。
(項目3)
ePTFEチューブ構造の上記加熱が、およそ316℃(600゜F)〜およそ371℃(700゜F)間でその温度を上昇する工程を含んでなり、上記上昇する工程がおよそ1分間〜およそ1時間の継続時間である、項目2に記載の方法。
(項目4)
第2のノード及びその中にフィブリル微細構造を生じるために、部分的に焼結されたePTFE構造を次に膨張する第2の膨張工程をさらに含んでなり、上記第2の膨張工程は上記加熱工程後である、項目1に記載の方法。
(項目5)
上記第1の膨張工程が、PTFE未処理チューブ押出物の長さをおよそ200%〜およそ6000%増大する、項目2に記載の方法。
(項目6)
上記第2の膨張工程が、部分的焼結ePTFE構造を横断方向に膨張する横断方向膨張工程を含んでなる、項目4に記載の方法。
(項目7)
PTFE押出物がPTFE未処理チューブ押出物によって形成され、上記準備工程がPTFE未処理チューブ押出物を準備する工程を含んでなり、上記第1の膨張工程がePTFEチューブ構造を生じるためのPTFE未処理チューブ押出物を長手方向へ膨張する工程によって定められ、上記横断方向膨張工程が部分的焼結されたePTFEチューブ構造を半径方向に膨張する半径方向膨張工程によって定められる、項目6に記載の方法。
(項目8)
上記半径方向膨張工程が、部分的に焼結されたePTFEチューブ構造の半径方向の寸法をおよそ10%〜600%増大する、項目7に記載の方法。
(項目9)
ePTFE構造の上記加熱が、その半固定された微細構造をもたらす、項目1に記載の方法。
(項目10)
さらに、およそ500゜F(260℃)の温度まで未焼結PTFE未処理チューブ押出物を最初に加熱する第1の加熱工程を含んでなり、上記第1の加熱工程が上記第1の膨張工程前である、項目2に記載の方法。
(項目11)
さらに、繊維物質で形成されたチューブ構造にePTFE構造を取り付ける取付工程を含んでなり、上記取付工程は上記加熱工程後であり、ePTFE構造が繊維物質で形成されたチューブ構造と同軸関係にある、項目2に記載の方法。
(項目12)
ePTFE構造を製造する方法であって、未焼結である膨張されてないPTFE押出物を供給する工程と、未焼結ePTFE構造を生じるために未焼結押出物を長手方向に膨張する長手方向膨張工程と、未焼結ePTFE構造を横断方向に膨張する横断方向膨張工程と、を含んでなる方法。
(項目13)
さらに、ePTFE構造を焼結する工程を含んでなり、上記焼結する工程が上記長手方向及び横断方向膨張工程後である、項目12に記載の方法。
(項目14)
PTFE押出物がPTFE未処理チューブ押出物によって形成され、上記長手方向膨張工程がePTFEチューブ構造を形成するためのPTFE未処理チューブ押出物を長手方向に膨張する工程によって定められ、上記横断方向膨張工程がePTFEチューブ構造を半径方向に膨張する工程によって定められる、項目12に記載の方法。
(項目15)
完全焼結及び完全再結晶化された微細構造の結晶微細構造より少ないある程度の結晶微細構造を有するPTFE構造。
(項目16)
上記PTFE構造がある程度の結晶構造を有する微細構造を含んでなり、その結晶構造が完全焼結及び完全再結晶化された微細構造の約10%〜約90%である、項目15に記載のPTFE構造。
(項目17)
微細構造の最大結晶化未満であるとDSCによって測定されたとき、ある程度の結晶を有する上記微細構造を含んでなるPTFE構造。
(項目18)
上記PTFE構造がPTFEチューブ構造を含んでなる、項目17に記載のPTFE構造。
(項目19)
制御された結晶性高分子微細構造を有するPTFE構造を形成する方法であって、PTFE押出物を準備する工程と、PTFE押出物を完全に焼結するには不十分であるが部分的に焼結するのに十分な時間及び温度でPTFE押出物の少なくとも一部を加熱する工程と、部分的に結晶であり、PTFE押出物を冷却し、部分的に焼結状態に相関する微細構造を組み立てさせる工程と、を含んでなる方法。
(項目20)
さらに、DSCによる微細構造の結晶含量のデータπマイニング分析する工程と、PTFE押出物のPTFEの微細構造を完全に結晶化するためにDSCにかけて測定した結晶含量を比較する工程と、を含んでなる、項目19に記載の方法。

Claims (5)
- 完全焼結および完全再結晶化された微細構造の結晶微細構造より少ない程度の結晶微細構造を有するPTFE構造であって、
該PTFE構造が、織物チューブ内または織物チューブの周りに配置されたチューブの形態であり、そして
該PTFE構造が、完全焼結および完全再結晶化された微細構造の結晶微細構造のより少ない程度の結晶微細構造を有する第1の長手方向部分を備え、該PTFE構造が、完全焼結および完全再結晶化された微細構造の結晶微細構造の程度に等しい程度の結晶微細構造を有する第2の長手方向部分を備える、PTFE構造。 - 前記PTFE構造が、完全焼結および完全再結晶化された微細構造の結晶微細構造の約10%〜約90%である程度の結晶構造を有する微細構造を備える、請求項1に記載のPTFE構造。
- DSCによって測定されるとき、最大結晶化の微細構造より少ない程度の結晶を有する微細構造を備える、PTFE構造であって、
該PTFE構造が、織物チューブ内または織物チューブの周りに配置されたチューブの形態であり、そして
該PTFE構造が、DSCによって測定されるとき、該最大結晶化の微細構造より少ない程度の結晶を有する微細構造を含む第1の長手方向部分を備え、該PTFE構造が、該微細構造の最大結晶化の程度に等しい程度の結晶微細構造を有する第2の長手方向部分を備える、PTFE構造。 - 前記PTFEのチューブが、前記織物チューブ内に配置された、請求項3に記載のPTFE構造。
- 前記PTFEのチューブが、前記織物チューブの周りに配置された、請求項3に記載のPTFE構造。
