Description
(a)1種以上の臭素置換オレフィンポリマー、
(b)1種以上のハロスルホン化オレフィンポリマー、
(c)エポキシ樹脂、フェノール樹脂、塩素化ポリオレフィン、およびその混合物からなる群から選択される1種以上の相溶化剤:を含む水性接着剤組成物が提供される。
水中に分散している成分は、水全体にわたって分散した、別々の粒子の形態である。水中の粒子の分布は、任意の形態、例えば、分散液、懸濁液、エマルジョン、ラテックス、またはその組み合わせであってよい。別々の粒子は、固体、液体、またはその組み合わせであってよい。独立して、別々の粒子は、コロイドまたは他の分布形態を形成してもよい。
R−O−(−CH2CH2O−)x−H
(式中、Rは脂肪族基、芳香族基、脂肪族置換芳香族基、および芳香族置換脂肪族基、またはその混合物であり、xは5〜200である)を有するエトキシレートが含まれる。いくつかの実施態様において、Rはアルキル置換ベンゼンであり、構造R1−R2−(式中、R1は直鎖アルキル基であり、R2は芳香族環である)を有するものである。一つの好適な非イオン性界面活性剤はノニルフェノールエトキシレートである。
a.エマルジョンを製造するために使用される容器中にBPDCD(キシレン中40重量%溶液)を入れ、アジテーターを開始させた。
b.撹拌しながら、固体CSMポリマーおよび相溶化ポリマー(固体または液体形態、溶液でない)を添加し、全てのポリマーが溶解するまで室温で混合した。
c.使用される装置の最大まで撹拌を増大させた(Cowlesミキサーが使用された場合には、撹拌は3500rpmを超えた;混合乳化機またはローターステーターが使用された場合には、撹拌は5000rpmを超えた;異なる装置を使用することによる効果の差は観察されなかった)。界面活性剤およびコロイド安定化物質(前記リストの最初の4つの成分)をポリマー溶液に添加し、次の物質に取りかかる前に固体界面活性剤を溶解させた。
d.全ての界面活性剤を入れた時点で、溶液は均質であり、60〜70分かかるように水をゆっくりと添加した。反転点(inversion point)に達したら、水の添加速度を増大させた。反転点は、エマルジョンの粘度が濃厚なペーストと同程度の最大値に達する点であり、追加の水を急速に添加すると、粘度が低下する。これは、エマルジョンが油中水エマルジョンから水中油エマルジョンに移行する点である。
e.水が全て添加されたら、バッチをストリッピング容器に移し、バッチを次に70〜80℃に加熱した。
f.バッチが所望の温度に達したら、容器中の圧力を低下させて、溶媒を除去した。
注:エマルジョン1B−Cに関して、CSMおよびCPEを溶媒に添加し、溶解させ、プロセスは前記のように進行させた。
引っ張りボタン試験(本明細書においては「ボタン」)(ASTM D−429A)、90°剥離試験(本明細書において「剥離」)(ASTM D−429B)、およびプリベーク試験(ASTM D−429B)を用いて接着剤配合物を試験した。90°剥離試験および引っ張りボタン試験に関して、スチールバーを清浄化し、グリットブラストし、次いでRobond(商標)TR−100(Rohm and Haas Co.)で下塗りし、次いで0.0102mmから0.0152mm(0.0004インチから0.0006インチ)の厚さにスプレーすることにより、接着剤配合物でコートした。接着剤層を70℃で10分間乾燥した。次いで、ゴム層を適用し、次のようにして硬化させた。
安定性試験サンプル4Aおよび比較4B−Cは次の成分を用いて製造された。物質は実施例1において記載されたものと同じであった。

Claims (9)
- (a)1種以上の臭素置換オレフィンポリマーであって、前記臭素置換オレフィンポリマーがさらに塩素で置換されており、ハロゲン以外の他の置換基を有しない臭素置換オレフィンポリマー、
(b)1種以上のハロスルホン化オレフィンポリマーであって、前記ハロスルホン化オレフィンポリマーのスルホニルハライド基中のハロゲンが塩素であるハロスルホン化オレフィンポリマー、
(c)エポキシ樹脂からなる群から選択される1種以上の相溶化剤、
を含む水性接着剤組成物。 - 前記組成物が有効量のイソシアネートを含有しない請求項1記載の接着剤組成物。
- 前記組成物中の前記のあらゆる臭素置換オレフィンポリマーが、ジエン分子の残基でないモノマー単位が存在しない置換ジエンポリマーである請求項1記載の接着剤組成物。
- 前記臭素置換オレフィンポリマーが、少なくとも1種の混合ハロゲン置換オレフィンポリマーを含む請求項1記載の接着剤組成物。
- 前記ハロスルホン化オレフィンポリマーがクロロスルホン化ポリエチレンを含む請求項1記載の接着剤組成物。
- 基体を接着する方法であって、
(i)請求項1記載の接着剤組成物の1以上の層を第一基体に、またはプライマーを第一基体に適用した後の前記第一基体に適用し、
(ii)前記接着剤組成物の前記層を乾燥し、および
(iii)少なくとも1つの追加の基体を前記接着剤組成物の前記層と接触させることを含み、
前記第一基体および前記追加の基体:の一方または両方がエラストマーである方法。 - 前記第一基体が金属であり、および少なくとも1つの前記追加の基体がエラストマーである請求項6記載の方法。
- 請求項6記載の方法により形成される物品。
- 前記第一基体が金属であり、および少なくとも1つの前記追加の基体がエラストマーである請求項8記載の物品。
