Description
i)銅金属、

銅モノエタノールアミン水溶液の歩留まりを高めるために、この反応条件を、例えば、濃度、温度、及び圧力を変更することにより最適化することができる。
この方法には、任意の銅含有材料を使用することができる。一実施形態では、純粋な金属銅が使用される。#l及び#2スクラップ銅金属などの、不純な形態の銅もまた使用することができる。超高純度の陰極グレードの切断された銅、及び他の高度に純粋な形態を使用することができる。#1スクラップ銅金属は、典型的にはほぼ99%の銅を含有し、#2スクラップ金属は、典型的にはほぼ97%の銅を含有するが、これは供給業者の中でいくぶんかは異なり得る。#2スクラップ金属は、しばしば、その絶縁体が取り除かれ、小片に切断された再生銅線である。
この方法には、空気を含めた任意の酸素供給源を使用することができる。一実施形態では、閉鎖型容器を使用する場合は、純粋な酸素が使用される。開放容器では、より低濃度の酸素が使用することができる。
この反応成分は、溶解した銅生成物を形成するのに十分な温度、例えば、40〜115℃、又は60〜90℃に維持される。温度は、好ましくは、良好な反応速度を得て、且つ、副生成物の酸化エタノールアミンが無視し得るか、又はないように選択される。この温度は、任意選択で、約40〜60℃、50〜60℃、60〜80℃、70〜90℃、又は80〜110℃である。特に、一実施形態では、この温度は、溶解した銅の生成を促進するために、少なくとも65℃、少なくとも70℃、少なくとも75℃、又は少なくとも80℃である。上記のように、この温度は、圧力及び酸素供給源などの他の反応条件の選択によりまた決まるであろう。反応中は、この反応容器は、温度をこの範囲に維持するための任意の適当な手段、例えば、ウオータージャケットにより加熱又は冷却することができる。
種々の反応器の設計を使用することができる。銅エタノールアミン水溶液を製造する反応器システムは、例えば、反応容器、スターラ、撹拌機、ガス供給源、入口及び出口バルブ、加圧システム、入口及び出口系統、熱電対、加熱器、撹拌機、ガス拡散器、タンク、ポンプ、冷却ジャケット、スクラバ、水蒸気供給源等を備えることができる。本明細書に記載の反応器システムは、本明細書に記載の任意の反応に使用することができ、銅エタノールアミン水溶液の製造用システムの考察は、一例として提供するものである。特定の実施形態を、実施例8に述べ、図6、7及び12に示す。
本発明では、種々の撹拌レベル及び撹拌機を使用することができる。撹拌機は、銅金属を反応混合物中に分散させるために使用することができる。一実施形態では、この撹拌レベルは、液体/ガス界面で液体の継続的なはね返り、或いは、容器ヘッドスペース中のガス相中に継続的又は断続的な溶液のスプレーを引き起こすのに十分な撹乱を生じさせる。
溶解した二酸化炭素を含有するエタノールアミン水溶液中における、銅と酸素との化学反応は、以下の式に分解することができ、ただし、EAはエタノールアミンである。

銅エタノールアミン水溶液の種々の製剤が提供される。この製剤は、本明細書に記載のように、且つ、当技術分野で利用可能な方法を使用して調製することができる。例えば、この製剤は、木材防腐製剤として使用するのに適した形態であり得る。
銅エタノールアミン溶液及びその製剤は、広範囲の応用例及び広範囲の材料に防腐剤として使用することができる。これらは、化粧品、パーソナルケア製品、家庭用品、或いは、接着剤、サイズ剤、紙及びボール紙、織物、皮革、木材、塗料及びプラスチック製物品、及び冷却用潤滑剤並びに微生物及び/又は真菌により攻撃され又は分解され得るその他の材料などの、工業材料の保存に使用することができる。生産プラントの構成要素、例えば、微生物及び/又は真菌の増殖により損なわれ得る冷却水も処理し得る。また、水泳プール及び温泉などのその他の水含有系の完全性を、防腐剤の使用により維持することができる。さらに、これらは、家庭、公共施設、及び病院などにある表面を消毒及び無菌化により、微生物及び/又は真菌を抑制し、除去するために使用することができる。
幾何学的表面の影響
幾何学的表面の影響を例示するために、#1微細及び#1大型を用いて、銅モノエタノールアミン溶液の2つのバッチを調製し、その溶解速度を測定した。2リットルParr反応器に、ダブルブレード撹拌機、空気/ガス入口チューブ、雰囲気へのガス排気口、冷却クール及び加熱ジャケットを取り付けた。マイクロプロセッサ制御のユニットにより、加熱ジャケットを止めて、冷却コイル中に流水を通過させることにより温度を維持した。
この反応は不均一系であり、この反応条件は、銅表面が銅溶解速度に影響を与えるようなものである。溶液中の銅の総量は、予想外のものであり、改善された結果を示す。
銅の溶解への温度の影響
銅の溶解は、銅(II)又は第二銅イオンによるモノエタノールアミンの酸化が少ないか、又は伴わずに、可能な限り急速に進行することが好ましい。この酸化反応は、時間及び温度に依存する。この条件は、110℃を超えると起こり得るアルキルヒドロキシルアミンの酸化を回避するように最適化することができる。
エタノールアミンの濃度
エタノールアミンの濃度は、反応速度又は銅溶解速度に影響を与え得る。このことは、酸素溶解度、溶液粘度、水性混合物中の生成物の溶解度等の種々の要因による可能性がある。この影響を試験するために、反応容器中の利用可能な水量を減少させて実験を実施し、銅溶解の初期速度を調べた。
これらの結果は、反応混合物中のエタノールアミンの濃度は、銅溶解の初期速度に影響を持つことを示している。
反応速度に対する二酸化炭素の影響
特定の実施形態では、二酸化炭素、酸無水物をエタノールアミン/水混合物に添加し、プロトン化されたエタノールアミンカーボネート塩が生成する。空気を、エタノールアミン、水、二酸化炭素及び金属銅が加熱された混合物中に送り込むので、二酸化炭素は、反応混合物から押し出されて、所望の量の銅を溶解するのに不十分な量が残存する。上記実施例は、わずかに過剰の二酸化炭素と銅(モル比1.08:1)及び1:4の銅:エタノールアミンモル比の錯体を形成するのに必要な銅の量の約2倍を含有していた。化学量論量の二酸化炭素及び大過剰の二酸化炭素の影響を求めるために、実験を実施した。これらを、実施例1〜3に記載の対照と比較した。

水酸化銅、炭酸銅及び塩基性炭酸銅などの銅の水不溶性塩は、エタノールアミン水溶液中に、4未満のモル比となるよう溶解することができる。銅とエタノールアミンのモル比が低いほど、銅エタノールアミン溶液のコスト、したがって木材防腐剤全体のコストが低下する。典型的には、木材防腐製剤には約1:3.5の銅とエタノールアミンのモル比が理想的である。この値より低くすると、水性工業用木材処理溶液からの沈殿による銅の損失の可能性が生じる。一般に、化学作用は、銅1原子当たり1個の炭酸塩イオン及び4個のエタノールアミン分子が必要であり、これが実際であると仮定して、標準的な実施例1の条件での反応は、11.1パーセントの最終又は予測の溶液の銅濃度を生じるものである。しかし、さらに銅の溶解が起こるかを試験するために、すべての反応は、溶解した銅が11.1パーセントを過ぎるよう続けた。
圧力の影響
空気圧又は酸素分圧の増加が、反応速度に影響するかを調べるために、実験を65及び85℃の両方において高い空気圧を上昇させて実施した。
装置
種々の反応器の設計を使用することができる。銅エタノールアミン水溶液を製造する反応器システムは、例えば、反応容器、スターラ、ガス供給源、入口及び出口バルブ、加圧システム、入口及び出口系統、熱電対、加熱器、撹拌機、ガス拡散器、タンク、ポンプ、冷却ジャケット、スクラバ、水蒸気供給源等を備えることができる。本明細書に記載の反応器システムは、本明細書に記載の任意の反応に使用することができ、銅エタノールアミン水溶液を製造するシステムの考察は、一例として提供される。
反応のスケールアップ
上記のものと類似の実験を、反応をスケールアップするために30ガロン反応器中で実施した。
300ガロン/カラム反応器を用いたスケールアップ
一実施形態では、例えば、大気圧条件、或いは例えば50又は75ポンド/平方インチゲージの加圧下の空気と共に、300ガロンカラム反応器を使用する。この反応は、例えば、1バッチ当たり約I2〜13時間かかり、任意選択でヒールを使用することができる。50ポンド/平方インチゲージ酸素と共に、50ガロン反応器などの、反応器のサイズ及び圧力の他の実施形態が実行可能である。
酸素との反応
この反応は、酸素供給源として空気又は純粋な酸素を使用することができる。純粋な酸素は、液体及びガスの形態で市販されている。反応器中の空気の圧力を増加させると、銅が溶解して銅エタノールアミンを形成する速度が劇的に改善される。空気圧の上昇は、反応マトリックス中の酸素の溶解度(おそらく窒素も)に影響し、これによって銅溶解の全体的な速度が改善される。酸素の利用能は、空気の代わりに純粋な酸素を用いることによりさらに増大することができる。純粋な酸素は、水溶液中のエタノールアミンとの潜在的な火災/爆発の危険の原因となるはずであるが、酸素/エタノールアミンの反応が起こらないように酸素圧を調整することができる。
酸素との反応−バッチ式反応
溶解速度への酸素の影響をさらに評価するために、空気の代わりに純粋な酸素が使用された以外は、実施例7に記載のものと類似の配置の50ガロン反応器を用いて、反応を実施した。反応器にほぼ50#の銅金属スクラップ及び約172ポンドのモノエタノールアミン、34ポンドの二酸化炭素、及び224ポンドの水を含む原液を投入した。反応器に酸素を加え、反応の過程全体に25と30ポンド/平方インチゲージの間に維持した。反応器の温度を75℃に維持した。図11は、30ポンド/平方インチゲージの酸素で、75℃のエタノールアミン/二酸化炭素溶液中の銅溶解への純粋な酸素の影響を示す。図11に示すように、この反応は、10.99と11.15パーセントの間の銅エタノールアミンを1.15と1.5時間の間で生成した。反応速度は、リットル・時間当たり94と120グラムの間の銅の範囲にある。この劇的な銅溶解速度は価値があり及び効率的である。
Claims (19)
- 銅モノエタノールアミン水溶液を製造する方法であって、前記方法が
a)純粋な金属銅及び少なくとも97%の銅を含有するスクラップ銅金属からなる群より選択される銅含有材料を含むフロースルー型容器、前記フロースルー型容器に供給する前に、水、モノエタノールアミン、酸素及び二酸化炭素を混合するための第2混合容器、及び前記第2混合容器の成分を撹拌するための撹拌機を備える反応器システムを備えること、
b)
i)水、
ii)モノエタノールアミン、
iii)二酸化炭素、及び
iv)酸素
を含む溶液を、金属銅含有材料を含むフロースルー型容器に供給すること、並びに
c)前記溶液を40から115℃の温度に維持し、
これにより、銅モノエタノールアミン水溶液が形成されることを含む方法。 - ステップc)において、前記混合物が90〜115℃の温度に維持される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を、前記フロースルー型容器を通して繰り返して循環することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記システムが、さらに、加熱器又は冷却ユニットを含み、前記溶液の温度が、カラムに供給される前に制御される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記フロースルー型容器が加圧される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記フロースルー型容器が、液体がその中を流れることを可能にする、銅を支持するメッシュフィルタを備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記システムがポンプを備え、
前記混合物が、前記フロースルー型容器のボトムにポンプにより供給され、そして、前記容器を通過して、そして、トップからオーバーフローを通して出てゆき、
前記混合物が、任意選択で前記容器中に再循環される、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 少なくとも10〜15%の溶解した銅を含む生成物が、2、3、4、5、6、7、又は8時間未満の前記溶液と前記フロースルー型容器との接触で得られる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 銅モノエタノールアミン水溶液を製造する方法であって、この方法が、
a)加圧反応容器中に、
i)水、
ii)モノエタノールアミン、
iii)CO 2 、
iv)純粋な金属銅及び少なくとも97%の銅を含有するスクラップ銅金属からなる群より選択される金属銅含有材料、及び
v)酸素
の混合物を供給すること;
b)前記混合物の温度を、40〜115℃の温度に維持して、金属銅を溶解すること;
c)銅が溶解したモノエタノールアミン溶液から、過剰な金属銅又は異物固体を任意選択で除去し、
これにより、銅モノエタノールアミン溶液生成物を形成すること;
を含み、
酸素を、0.24〜0.38MPa(20〜40ポンド/平方インチゲージ)、0.31〜0.45MPa(30〜50ポンド/平方インチゲージ)、0.45〜0.52MPa(50〜60ポンド/平方インチゲージ)、0.52〜0.58MPa(60〜70ポンド/平方インチゲージ)、0.58〜0.65MPa(70〜80ポンド/平方インチゲージ)、又は0.65〜0.72MPa(80〜90ポンド/平方インチゲージ)の圧力で前記容器中に導入し、前記反応容器中の前記混合物を撹拌機を使用することにより撹拌する、方法。 - 前記温度が65〜85℃である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記温度が70〜115℃である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 二酸化炭素と前記生成物中に溶解した銅のモル比が0.5から1.5である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 二酸化炭素と前記生成物中に溶解した銅のモル比が0.7〜0.8である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- モノエタノールアミンと前記生成物中に溶解した銅のモル比が2.5から4である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- モノエタノールアミンと前記生成物中に溶解した銅のモル比が3.5〜4.0である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記反応が、7〜15重量%の溶解した銅濃度を有する、銅モノエタノールアミン水溶液を製造する、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記酸素が純粋な酸素である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- ステップa)が、前記銅材料を含む前記反応容器に、水及びモノエタノールアミンを投入すること、
前記容器中に加圧空気をポンプにより供給すること、
前記混合物を第2容器にポンプにより供給し、そこで、CO 2 及び水の残りを添加すること、
を含む、請求項9に記載の方法。 - ステップa)が、前記銅材料を含む前記反応容器に、水及びモノエタノールアミンを投入すること、
前記容器に加圧された純粋な酸素をポンプにより供給すること、
前記混合物を第2容器にポンプにより供給し、そこでCO 2 及び水の残りを添加すること、
を含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
