Description
Claims (13)
- パケット・データ・サービス・ノード(PDSN)を含むワイヤレス通信ネットワークにおいて、ユーザ・データを収容するアプリケーション・インターネット・プロトコル(IP)パケットの境界を示す方法であって、
前記PDSNでアプリケーションIPパケットを受信するステップと、
前記アプリケーションIPパケット内のユーザ・データを、IPパケットでさらにカプセル化される1個または複数の汎用ルーティング・カプセル化(GRE)フレームの中にカプセル化するステップと、
少なくとも1個の前記GREフレームの中に、前記アプリケーションIPパケットの境界を示すフラグメンテーション情報を含めるステップと
を有することを特徴とする方法。 - 前記GREフレームの中にカプセル化する前に、さらに前記アプリケーションIPパケットをポイント・ツー・ポイント・プロトコル(PPP)フレームの中に入れるステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記PDSNで前記アプリケーションIPパケットを受信するステップが、2個以上の分割されたIPパケットを受信するステップと、前記GREカプセル化に先立ち、前記アプリケーションIPパケットを復元するため、前記PDSNにおいて前記分割されたIPパケットを組み立てるステップとを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アプリケーションIPパケットを復元するため前記PDSNにおいて前記分割されたIPパケットを組み立てるステップが、前記アプリケーションIPパケットの前記分割されたIPパケットの番号と順序を決定するため、前記分割されたIPパケット・ヘッダ中のオフセットおよび継続ビットを点検するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記GREフレームを1個または複数のA10IPパケットの中にカプセル化するステップと、
前記A10IPパケットを前記ネットワークのパケット制御装置(PCF)に送信するステップとを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記PCFで前記A10IPパケットから前記GREフレームを取り出すステップと、
前記PCFで前記GREフレームから前記ユーザ・データを取り出すステップと、
前記アプリケーションIPパケットの境界を確定するため、前記フラグメンテーション情報を解釈するステップとを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。 - 前記ユーザ・データおよび前記フラグメンテーション情報を1個または複数のA8IPパケット中の1個または複数のGREフレームの中にカプセル化するステップと、
前記A8IPパケットを前記ネットワークの基地局コントローラ(BSC)に送信するステップとを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。 - 前記BSCで前記A8IPパケットから前記GREフレームを取り出すステップと、
前記BSCで前記GREフレームから前記ユーザ・データを取り出すステップと、
前記アプリケーションIPパケット境界を確定するため、前記フラグメンテーション情報を解釈するステップとを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の方法。 - 前記フラグメンテーション情報が1ビットだけを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記フラグメンテーション情報が2ビットからなり、前記ビットの符号化が、GREフレーム中の分割されていないアプリケーションIPパケットのデータ、GREフレーム中の分割されたアプリケーションIPパケットの始端部分のデータ、GREフレーム中の分割されたアプリケーションIPパケットの中間部分のデータ、またはGREフレーム中の分割されたアプリケーションIPパケットの終端部分のデータの1つを表すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記フラグメンテーション情報の一番目のビットが、GREフレームがアプリケーションIPパケットの始端部分のデータを含むことを表し、前記フラグメンテーション情報の二番目のビットが、GREフレームがアプリケーションIPパケットの終端部分のデータを含むことを表すことを特徴とする請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記フラグメンテーション情報が、分割されたアプリケーションIPパケットを含む各GREフレームを一意に識別する連続番号を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アプリケーションIPパケットの始端部分のデータを含むGREフレームの前記連続番号が、前記分割されたアプリケーションIPパケットのデータを含むGREフレームの合計数であり、前記連続番号が引続く各GREフレームに対して減少し、前記分割されたアプリケーションIPパケットの終端部分のデータを含むGREフレームに対する値が「1」になることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
