Description
The present invention relates to a cleaning device for cleaning a print head of an inkjet printer.
Conventionally, inkjet printers have been used for manufacturing FPD fields, mounting wiring boards, etc., such as color filters for liquid crystal display elements, spacers, alignment films, light emitting layers for organic EL display elements, wiring for plasma display elements, etc. .
An ink jet printer has a nozzle plate provided with ejection openings, and performs printing by ejecting ink from the ejection openings. However, a large amount of ink adheres to the periphery of the ejection openings, or bubbles are formed in the ink in the ejection openings. When the ink enters, there is a problem that ink is not discharged from the discharge port.
In order to solve such problems, countermeasures have been sought in the prior art as well, for example, a contact method has been proposed in which the surface of the nozzle plate is rubbed with a brush to remove ink adhering to the periphery of the ejection port.
However, not only liquid ink but also deposits after the ink is dried and the solvent is removed may adhere to the periphery of the ejection port. In the above contact method, the liquid ink is removed, but the precipitate remaining after the ink is dried and the solvent is removed cannot be removed. To remove the deposit, it is necessary to rub the nozzle plate strongly with a brush. is there. If the nozzle plate is rubbed strongly with a brush, the nozzle plate will be damaged, or the liquid-repellent treatment of the nozzle plate will be damaged, resulting in liquid pooling on the surface of the nozzle plate and variations in the ink discharge angle.
The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a cleaning apparatus that can clean a nozzle plate and remove bubbles.
In order to solve the above-mentioned problem, the invention described in
Invention of Claim 2 is the washing | cleaning apparatus of
Invention of Claim 3 is a washing | cleaning apparatus of any one of
Invention of Claim 4 is a washing | cleaning apparatus of any one of
The present invention is configured as described above, and the ink is retained inside the print head even when ink is not ejected. When the ejection surface is brought into contact with the cleaning container, the ink in the print head is ejected through the ejection port. Is exposed inside the cleaning container.
A discharge element such as a piezo element is provided near the discharge port in the print head. During printing, the discharge element controls the discharge timing and discharge amount. It cannot be removed.
If the cleaning container is sealed and the cleaning container is evacuated and the internal pressure is lowered, the ink in the print head is sucked into the cleaning container from the discharge port. The lower the internal pressure, the greater the amount of ink that is sucked in, and bubbles that cannot be removed only by ejection can be removed.
If the ink adhering to the discharge surface is wiped with a cleaning body before the print head is cleaned by the cleaning device, the time required for cleaning the discharge surface is shortened.
In addition, if the discharge surface is wiped with a cleaning body after cleaning and before resuming printing, excess solvent adhering to the discharge surface is removed in the cleaning process, and ink discharge from the discharge port is stabilized when printing is started. .
The cleaning device of the present invention not only removes ink adhering to the ejection surface but also removes bubbles from the ink in the print head, so printing after washing is performed stably. Further, if the cleaning container is kept sealed after cleaning, the ink in the print head does not dry even if printing is not performed for a long time.
In addition, after the bubbles are removed from the ink and the deposits are removed from the ejection surface, the solvent is continuously ejected and the solvent is stopped from being discharged into the discharge system. When the valve is closed and the exhaust is stopped, the ejection of the solvent and the suction of the ink are stopped, and the cleaning container is kept sealed, the solvent accumulated in the cleaning container evaporates and becomes saturated.
Since the discharge port is exposed to the saturated vapor of the solvent and the amount of solvent evaporation from the ink in the print head is in an equilibrium state, the ink is not dried and the viscosity of the ink near the discharge port does not increase.
The
The
The
The arrangement and interval of the
FIG. 3A is a schematic enlarged cross-sectional view of the
The outer periphery of the
A
Although the
On the
The end of the
The
When the
An
Here, the
When the pressure in the cleaning
A cleaning
While ejecting
The central axis of the
FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view showing a state in which the
The
The
After wiping the
After the
If the cleaning
When resuming printing, the inside of the cleaning
Next, the
Since the
In the above, the case where the
X axis direction extending guide rail 62 1-62 in 4 two holding
Moving the X-axis direction of the guide rail 62 1-62 4, the holding
When the interval between the print positions where the ink of the
When wiping the
Further, when cleaning the
The case where one
The sealing
Furthermore, the sealing
The timing for cleaning the
The timing and frequency of wiping the
The cleaning
If the cleaning
The ink discharged from the
The solvent ejected from the
The above describes the case where the inside of the cleaning
In this case, the suction of the ink from the
