Claims (3)
- 複数の信号線及び複数の走査線が配列され、これらの交点ごとに、画素電極及びスイッチング素子が設けられてカラー表示を行うための赤、緑または青の画素ドットが形成され、これら画素ドットがマトリクス状に配列された表示パネルと、
白色LEDを光源とし前記表示パネルに光源光を供給する面光源装置と、
前記表示パネルの周縁部に備えられ、外部の駆動系統から入力される画像データ信号を所定のガンマ曲線にしたがって信号電圧に変換し、この信号電圧を、外部の駆動系統から入力されるクロック信号及び同期信号に基づき所定のタイミングで前記信号線に供給する駆動ICと、
前記ガンマ曲線を決定するデジタルデータを格納する不揮発性メモリとを備える平面表示装置であって、
前記駆動ICには、前記ガンマ曲線にしたがう変換を行うための変換回路が、赤、緑及び青の各原色についてそれぞれ独立に設けられ、
前記不揮発メモリには、前記ガンマ曲線のデジタルデータが、赤、緑及び青の各原色についてのそれぞれ別個のガンマ曲線を決定するものとして格納され、これら各ガンマ曲線を決定するデジタルデータは、前記白色LEDの色度の測定結果に基づき、前記白色LEDごとの色度のバラツキの影響を除くように補正されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 複数の信号線及び複数の走査線が配列され、これらの交点ごとに、画素電極及びスイッチング素子が設けられてカラー表示を行うための赤、緑または青の画素ドットが形成され、これら画素ドットがマトリクス状に配列された表示パネルと、
白色LEDを光源とし前記表示パネルに光源光を供給する面光源装置と、
前記表示パネルの周縁部に備えられ、外部の駆動系統から入力される画像データ信号を所定のガンマ曲線にしたがって信号電圧に変換し、この信号電圧を、外部の駆動系統から入力されるクロック信号及び同期信号に基づき所定のタイミングで前記信号線に供給する駆動ICと、
前記ガンマ曲線を決定するデジタルデータを格納する不揮発性メモリとを備える平面表示装置の製造方法であって、
前記駆動ICには、前記ガンマ曲線にしたがう変換を行うための変換回路を、赤、緑及び青の各原色についてそれぞれ独立に設け、
前記不揮発メモリには、前記ガンマ曲線のデジタルデータを、赤、緑及び青の各原色についてのそれぞれ別個のガンマ曲線を決定するものとして格納し、これら各ガンマ曲線を決定するデジタルデータは、前記白色LEDの色度の測定結果に基づき、前記白色LEDごとの色度のバラツキの影響を除くように補正しておくことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記変換回路が、前記画像データ信号を前記信号電圧に変換するデジタル−アナログ変換回路であり、前記不揮発メモリが、電気的に書き換え可能なROM(EEPROM)であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
