Description
1)高効率の蛍光色素により発光効率が向上する。
2)蛍光色素の選択により発光波長を変えることができる。
3)濃度消光を起こす蛍光色素も使用可能である。
4)薄膜性に劣る蛍光色素も使用可能である。
例示化合物(3):3,7-N,N-ジ(4-メチルフェニル)アニリノ-2,6-ジフェニルベンゾ[1,2-b:4,5-b’]ジフランを下記に示す合成経路により合成した。
<実施例1>
図1に示す構造を有する有機電界発光素子を以下の方法で作製した。ガラス基板上にインジウム・スズ酸化物(ITO)透明導電膜をスパッタ法で165 nm堆積したもの(シート抵抗10Ω,平均表面粗さ1.5 nm)を通常のフォトリソグラフィ技術と塩酸エッチングを用いて2 mm幅のストライプにパターニングして陽極を形成した。パターン形成したITO基板に対して、界面活性剤(横浜油脂工業株式会社製 セミクリーンM-LO)による超音波洗浄、超純水による超音波洗浄、および流水洗浄を行った後、窒素ブローで乾燥させ、最後に紫外線オゾン洗浄を行った。
<比較例1>
正孔輸送層4として、例示化合物(1)の代わりに下記に示す芳香族ジアミン化合物(通称:α-NPD)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして素子を作製した。
<実施例2>
正孔輸送層4として、例示化合物(1)の代わりに例示化合物(3)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして素子を作製した。得られた素子を実施例1と同様に1000 cd/m2の輝度で評価したところ、電圧は5.1 V、電流発光効率は4.6 cd/A、電力発光効率は2.9ルーメン/Wを示し、実用上十分な性能が得られた。
<実施例3>
正孔輸送層4として、例示化合物(1)の代わりに例示化合物(4)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして素子を作製した。得られた素子を実施例1と同様に1000 cd/m2の輝度で評価したところ、電圧は6.1 V、電流発光効率は5.1 cd/A,電力発光効率は2.7ルーメン/Wを示し、実用上十分な性能が得られた。
<実施例4>
正孔輸送層4として、例示化合物(1)の代わりに例示化合物(16)を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして素子を作製した。得られた素子を実施例1と同様に1000 cd/m2の輝度で評価したところ、電圧は5.5 V、電流発光効率は4.3 cd/A,電力発光効率は2.2ルーメン/Wを示し、実用上十分な性能が得られた。
<実施例5>
図2に示す構造を有する有機電界発光素子を作製した。正孔輸送層4として、前記芳香族ジアミン化合物(通称:α-NPD)を、発光層5として例示化合物(1)をホスト材料としてルブレンを2.9重量%ドープしたものを、電子輸送層6としてアルミニウムの8-ヒドロキシキノリン錯体Al(C9H6NO)3を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして素子を作製した。得られた素子を実施例1と同様に1000 cd/m2の輝度で評価したところ黄色発光を示し、電圧は4.3 V、電流発光効率は4.6 cd/A、電力発光効率は3.2ルーメン/W、CIE色度座標は(0.455, 0.499)であった。
<実施例6>
図2に示す構造を有する有機電界発光素子を作製した。発光層5として例示化合物(7)をホスト材料として下記ペリレン誘導体(1.2重量%)をドープしたものを用いた以外は、実施例5と同様にして素子を作製した。
<実施例7>
図3に示す構造を有する有機電界発光素子を作製した。正孔輸送層4として、前記芳香族ジアミン化合物(通称:α-NPD)を、発光層5として例示化合物(7)をホスト材料として下記リン光性イリジウム錯体:
<比較例2>
発光層5のホスト材料として下記に示すカルバゾール誘導体(通称CBP)を用いた他は実施例7と同様にして図3に示す構造を有する有機電界発光素子を作製した。

Claims (6)
- 前記芳香族アミン化合物を含有する層は、陽極と発光層との間に設けられた正孔輸送層であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記芳香族アミン化合物を含有する層は、発光層であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 発光層は、前記芳香族アミン化合物と、電子輸送材料とを含有することを特徴とする請求項3記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 一般式(Ia)、(Ib)におけるジアリールアミノ基およびN−カルバゾリル基が有していてもよい置換基が、炭化水素基またはアルコキシ基であることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 一般式(Ia)、(Ib)におけるジアリールアミノ基およびN−カルバゾリル基以外のR1〜R10が、それぞれ独立に水素原子または炭化水素基であることを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の有機電界発光素子。
