Description
前記映像信号線と前記画素電極は前記画素内で屈曲しており、前記屈曲した画素電極の辺と前記第1の方向とのなす角度は、前記液晶が前記第2の基板から前記第1の基板に向かい反時計回りにねじれている場合、前記屈曲部の一方の側は時計回りに10度以上で45度以下で、前記屈曲部の他方の側は反時計回りに15度以上で45度以下であり、前記液晶が前記第2の基板から前記第1の基板に向かい時計回りにねじれている場合、前記屈曲部の一方の側は時計回りに15度以上で45度以下で、前記屈曲部の他方の側は反時計回りに10度以上で45度以下であり、前記画素電極と前記映像信号線はオーバーラップしており、前記オーバーラップ量は前記映像信号線の前記屈曲部において、他の部分よりも大きいことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
12時視角:12時方向が階調反転しにくく、6時方向が階調反転し易い。
6時視角:6時方向が階調反転しにくく、12時方向が階調反転し易い。
3時視角:3時方向が階調反転しにくく、9時方向が階調反転し易い。
9時視角:9時方向が階調反転しにくく、3時方向が階調反転し易い。
ここで、3時方向という場合は2時から4時の間で、かつ、2時および4時は含まないものとする。また、9時方向という場合は8時から10時の間で、かつ、8時および9時を含まないものとする。他の場合も同様である。
Claims (3)
- 第1の基板と第2の基板の間に液晶が挟持され、前記第1の基板と前記第2の基板には走査線の方向に階調反転がしにくいようにラビング処理が施され、ドット反転駆動あるいは列毎反転駆動を行うTN方式の液晶表示装置であって、
前記第1の基板には映像信号線を挟んで第1の画素電極と第2の画素電極が走査線の方向に間隔をもって配置されており、前記映像信号線は前記第1の画素電極および前記第2の画素電極とオーバーラップしており、前記映像信号線と前記第1の画素電極とのオーバーラップ量は前記映像信号線と前記第2の画素電極とのオーバーラップ量よりも大きく、
前記第2の基板には遮光膜が形成され、前記遮光膜は前記第1の画素電極および前記第2の画素電極とオーバーラップし、前記遮光膜の前記第1の画素電極とのオーバーラップ量は、前記遮光膜の前記第2の画素電極とのオーバーラップ量よりも大きく、
前記第1の画素電極側では、前記遮光膜が前記映像信号線よりも外側にはみ出しており、前記第2の画素電極側では前記映像信号線が前記遮光膜よりも外側にはみ出していることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1の画素電極側にはリバースチルトドメインが発生しており、前記リバースチルトドメインは前記映像信号線と前記遮光膜によって覆われていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶の誘電率異方性は6以下で、ゼロよりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
