Description
本発明は、包装されたホットメルト接着剤、及びホットメルト接着剤を封入又は包装する方法を提供するものである。
実施例において、特性を評価するために使用された試験は、以下のようにして実施された。
TA Instruments社のDSC 2920又は類似の装置を使用して、5〜10mgの接着剤のサンプルを調製した。対照としてブランクのパン(pan)と共に、そのサンプルをDSC中に装着し、25℃の温度にした。そのサンプルを20℃/分で177℃まで加熱し、そして177℃で3分間保持した。次いで、そのサンプルを20℃/分で25℃まで冷却した。その溶融曲線上のピークの温度を測定して、その値を記録した。
手で包装したキャビティパック(cavity pack)を130゜F(54℃)の炉中に1週間置いて、それらのブロックの表面を粘着性について評価した。
およそ100個の接着剤を110℃の炉中の各フィルムの0.5重量%のガラスジャー中に据えた。次いで、接着剤を緩やかに攪拌し、そしてフィルムの分散性と外観について評価した。
通常の攪拌装置を使用して、低温(190゜F(88℃)〜250゜F(121℃))での適用に適したゴムベースの感圧ホットメルト接着剤を調製した。その接着剤は、145゜F(63℃)の軟化点及び225゜F(107℃)で約6,000cPの溶融粘度を有していた。
実施例1において記載したように包装した接着剤のブロックの25kg入りボックスを、105℃のITW Dynatech社のホットメルトタンク中でメルトダウンさせた。その接着剤を次いでポンプ注入し、そして標準のホットメルトスプレーアプリケーターからスプレーした。スプレー適用の質を、8時間の操作に渡って評価した。その接着剤を次いでそのタンク中に適用温度で一晩放置し、フィルムの分散性についての評価を行った。それらの結果を表2に示す。
実施例1において使用した接着剤のブロック1kgを、溶融状態で各多層フィルムの10.5x12インチ幅(267mm〜305mm)に包装した。試験群の25ブロックを充填した25kg入りボール箱(cardboard box)を45℃で72時間熟成させ、そしてブロッキング性能を評価した。それらの結果を表2に示す。
Claims (5)
- 多層熱可塑性フィルム中に入れられた、66℃〜135℃で溶融するホットメルト接着剤を含む、包装されたホットメルト接着剤であって、前記多層熱可塑性フィルムが異なる融点を有する少なくとも2層の熱可塑性層を含み、前記少なくとも2層の内の1層が、前記多層熱可塑性フィルムの50%より多くを成すものであり、且つ100℃より低い融点を有するものであり、少なくとも他の1層が100℃より高い融点を有するものである、包装されたホットメルト接着剤。
- 前記多層熱可塑性フィルムの前記1層が前記多層熱可塑性フィルムの65%〜85%を成すものである、請求項1に記載の包装されたホットメルト接着剤。
- 前記多層熱可塑性フィルムの前記1層がエチレンメチルアクリレートを含むものである、請求項1に記載の包装されたホットメルト接着剤。
- 前記多層熱可塑性フィルムの前記少なくとも他の1層がエチレンビニルアセテートを含むものである、請求項1に記載の包装されたホットメルト接着剤。
- 前記多層熱可塑性フィルムの少なくとも1層が、エチレンの、10%〜45%のメチルアクリレート、n−ブチルアクリレート又はビニルアセテートのコモノマーとのコポリマーを含むものである、請求項1に記載の包装されたホットメルト接着剤。
