Description
The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of a droplet discharge head, a droplet discharge head, and a droplet discharge device that form a water- and oil-repellent film on a nozzle surface of a droplet discharge head of the droplet discharge device.
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, various types of droplet discharge heads of a droplet discharge apparatus are known depending on a mechanism for generating (discharge) droplets. For example, there is a droplet discharge head of a type in which a heater is heated to boil a liquid and a droplet is discharged with a bubble pressure generated thereby. In addition, there is a droplet discharge head of a type that discharges droplets by expanding and contracting the volume of a pressure chamber by applying a voltage to a piezoelectric element attached to a pressure chamber that stores liquid. Further, there is a type in which droplets are discharged by changing the volume of a pressure chamber in which liquid is stored using electrostatic force. In any type of liquid droplet ejection head, liquid droplets are ejected from a nozzle by utilizing the pressure fluctuation in the pressure chamber.
When the droplet discharge head is used as a print head, water-based or oil-based ink is mainly used. Therefore, when the water repellency or oil repellency of the nozzle surface is insufficient, the ink easily adheres to the nozzle surface. Become. For this reason, there is a possibility that the straightness of the ink ejected from the nozzles is impaired and the printing is disturbed. As a result, the droplet discharge device may not be able to obtain high-precision print quality.
For example, as disclosed in
However, in such a method for manufacturing a droplet discharge head, since the water / oil repellent film has a thickness of 20 nm or more, when the film thickness of the water / oil repellent film is thicker than a certain level, The wiping operation to remove droplets adhering to the nozzle separates the water and oil repellent film between the layers, and part of the peeled water and oil repellent film penetrates into the nozzle, causing ink to fly during ink ejection. Have been worried about problems such as bending and ink not being ejected in an appropriate amount. On the other hand, when the water / oil repellent film is thinly formed, the vapor deposition film tends to be difficult to form densely on the nozzle surface, so that there is a problem that the ink is easily wetted and the water / oil repellency is lowered.
The object of the present invention is to improve the water / oil repellency of the nozzle surface of the droplet discharge head and to reduce the droplet discharge instability due to the entry of the water / oil repellent film separated by wiping into the nozzle. An object is to provide a manufacturing method of a discharge head and a droplet discharge head, and to provide a droplet discharge apparatus capable of providing high-precision print quality.
The method of manufacturing a droplet discharge head according to the present invention is a method of forming the vapor deposition film in which a vapor deposition film having water and oil repellency is laminated on a nozzle surface by a vapor deposition method in the method of manufacturing a droplet discharge head driven by an actuator. And a step of separating and removing the vapor deposition layer of the vapor deposition film and forming a water / oil repellent film with the remaining lower layer.
According to the present invention, by separating and removing from the vapor deposition layer of the vapor deposition film, a dense and thin water- and oil-repellent film is formed on the nozzle surface. Thus, it is possible to suppress the vapor deposition layer from separating by wiping or the like and entering the nozzle. Therefore, a droplet discharge head capable of stably discharging ink can be manufactured.
In the method for manufacturing a droplet discharge head according to the present invention, the water / oil repellent film is desirably 5 nm or less.
According to this invention, since the dense water- and oil-repellent film having high adhesion is a thin film on the nozzle surface and is uniformly formed, it is possible to suppress the vapor deposition layer from separating and entering into the nozzle by wiping or the like. Accordingly, it is possible to manufacture a droplet discharge head that can discharge ink more stably.
In the method for manufacturing a droplet discharge head according to the present invention, the vapor deposition film is desirably 20 nm or more.
According to the present invention, since the vapor deposition layer is separated and removed from the vapor deposition film after the vapor deposition is once thicker than 20 nm, a dense water and oil repellent film is formed on the nozzle surface. Therefore, this water / oil repellent film can ensure water / oil repellency and reduced entry of the water / oil repellent film separated by wiping or the like into the nozzle. Therefore, a droplet discharge head capable of stably discharging ink can be manufactured.
In the method for manufacturing a droplet discharge head of the present invention, the steps of separating the vapor deposition layer of the vapor deposition film to form a water- and oil-repellent film include a step of sticking an adhesive tape to the vapor deposition film, and a step of peeling the adhesive tape. It is desirable to have
According to this invention, by sticking the adhesive tape on the deposited film and then removing it, a dense and thin water- and oil-repellent film can be reliably formed on the nozzle surface by a simple method. Therefore, it is possible to manufacture a large amount of stable quality droplet discharge heads.
In the method for manufacturing a droplet discharge head according to the present invention, the method includes forming a vapor deposition film on a wafer stack and separating the wafer stack from the droplet discharge head, and the step of peeling the adhesive tape includes the droplet discharge It is preferable that the adhesive tape is a dicing tape after the head is cut off.
According to this invention, since the dicing tape used for cutting the wafer and the adhesive tape used for separating the vapor deposition layer of the vapor deposition film can be used together, the process can be reduced and a dense and thin water and oil repellent film can be formed.
The droplet discharge head of the present invention is desirably a droplet discharge head manufactured by the above-described manufacturing method.
According to this invention, since the droplet discharge head is manufactured by the above-described manufacturing method, a dense and thin water- and oil-repellent film having high durability is formed, and the droplet can be stably discharged. An ejection head can be provided.
The droplet discharge device of the present invention is desirably a droplet discharge device including the above-described droplet discharge head.
According to this invention, since the droplet discharge device includes the above-described droplet discharge head, it is possible to provide a droplet discharge device that can provide high-precision print quality.
Embodiments of a method for manufacturing a droplet discharge head, a droplet discharge head, and a droplet discharge apparatus including the droplet discharge head according to the present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

As shown in FIG. 4, in step S1, a

As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5C, in the next step S6, a
As shown in FIG. 5D, the
As shown in FIG. 4, in step S7, as shown in FIG. 5E, an

In step S8 shown in FIG. 4, the wafer stacked
In step S <b> 9 shown in FIG. 4, the dicing
In the next step S10 shown in FIG. 4, the dicing
As shown in FIG. 6, after forming a
Here, when the pressure-

As shown in FIG. 7, the
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the

Thus, in the accelerated durability test of the water /
From the above accelerated durability test results, it can be seen that
FIG. 9 is a graph showing the film thickness dependence of the vapor-deposited
In FIG. 9, the comparison data of the contact angle between the initial stage of formation of the water /
As can be seen from this graph, when the deposited film thickness is thin, the initial contact angle is low, and the contact angle reduction after the accelerated durability test is also large. Conversely, when the deposited film thickness is thick, the initial contact angle increases, and the contact angle decrease after the accelerated durability test is small. That is, even if the water /
