【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a powder coating apparatus for attaching a powder coating charged by ions to an object to be coated.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In general, when a powder coating material is used to coat an object to be coated such as a hood or a door of an automobile, a corona discharge type powder coating apparatus is widely used. In this type of coating apparatus, an electrostatic application electrode is arranged radially inward or radially outward of the powder coating spray nozzle. In such a configuration, a high voltage is applied between the electrostatic application electrode and the grounded workpiece, and ions are generated from the electrostatic application electrode. Then, the powder coating charged by the ions is sprayed onto the object to be coated, and the powder coating is adhered to the surface of the object to be coated. In this case, the object to be painted is placed in the painting booth. In the coating booth, there is a coating device (hereinafter referred to as an internal electrode type coating device) in which an electrostatic application electrode is disposed radially inward of the powder coating material injection port, or an electrostatic application electrode. Only one of the coating devices (hereinafter referred to as an outer electrode type coating device) disposed radially outward of the powder coating material injection port is disposed.
[0003]
In the inner electrode type coating apparatus, ions generated from the electrostatic application electrode are reliably generated inside and outside the radially sprayed powder coating, so that the powder coating is efficiently charged.
[0004]
On the other hand, in the external electrode type coating apparatus, ions generated from the electrostatic application electrode are generated mainly on the outside of the powder coating sprayed radially. In other words, the electrostatic application electrode is a powder. Since the powder coating becomes a wall and the generation of ions inside the powder coating is prevented as much as possible by disposing it outside the coating spray port, the outside of the powder coating is important. There is a tendency that the charging efficiency with respect to the whole powder paint sprayed is slightly lowered as compared with the internal electrode type coating apparatus.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, when the object to be coated is coated using the inner electrode type coating apparatus, the powder coating itself has an electrostatic repulsion because the powder coating has good charging efficiency. There is a risk that the smoothness of the appearance of the product will be slightly reduced. However, when coating is applied to the vertical part of the object to be coated, ions are reliably generated inside the radially sprayed powder coating, that is, an electric force reliably acts on the inside of the powder coating. Therefore, the inner powder coating does not hang down vertically under the action of gravity, and the smoothness of the appearance finish of the coated object after coating can be ensured.
[0006]
On the other hand, when the object is coated using the outer electrode type coating apparatus, the charging efficiency for the powder coating is slightly lower than that of the inner electrode type coating apparatus. It is possible to prevent the occurrence of electrostatic repulsion as much as possible, and to ensure the smoothness of the appearance of the coated object after coating. However, when coating the vertical part of the object to be coated, the generation of ions inside the radially sprayed powder paint is prevented as much as possible (electricity inside the powder paint). Because the force is less likely to act), the powder coating on the inside tends to hang vertically downward under the action of gravity, and the smoothness of the appearance of the coated object after coating may be slightly impaired.
[0007]
The present invention has been made in order to further improve the conventional powder coating method, and an electrostatic application electrode is disposed radially inward of the powder coating spray nozzle with respect to the vertical portion of the object to be coated. In addition to improving ion charging efficiency for the powder coating material, the powder coating device prevents the powder coating material from dripping vertically under the action of gravity. Use a powder coating device that ensures the smoothness of the appearance finish and that the electrode for electrostatic application is arranged radially outward of the powder coating nozzle for the horizontal part of the object. Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a powder coating apparatus capable of preventing the occurrence of electrostatic repulsion of the powder coating itself as much as possible and ensuring the smoothness of the appearance finish.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention applies a high voltage between the electrostatic application electrode and the object to be coated to inject ions from the electrostatic application electrode when spraying the powder paint onto the object to be grounded. In a powder coating apparatus for generating and charging the powder coating material by the ions to attach the powder coating material to the surface of the coating object, a coating booth and the coating target disposed in the coating booth A first powder coating apparatus for coating a vertical part of an object, and a second powder coating apparatus for coating a horizontal part of the object to be coated; The coating apparatus includes a plurality of first electrostatic application electrodes arranged radially inward of the annular first powder coating spray nozzle, and the second powder coating apparatus includes an annular second And a plurality of second electrostatic application electrodes disposed radially outward of the powder coating material injection port.
[0009]
According to the present invention, a powder coating apparatus used for charging a powder coating with ions and attaching the charged powder coating to an object to be coated is used to coat a vertical portion of the object to be coated. And the case where the horizontal portion of the object is painted. When coating a vertical portion of an object to be coated, a powder coating apparatus is used in which an electrostatic application electrode for generating ions is disposed radially inward of the powder coating spray port. As a result, ions are reliably generated inside and outside of the powder coating sprayed radially, improving the charging efficiency of ions to the powder coating, and the electric force inside and outside the powder coating. Since the powder coating is surely directed to the object to be coated, it is possible to avoid as much as possible that the powder coating hangs vertically under the action of gravity, and the smoothness of the appearance of the object after coating is excellent. Can be secured. Further, when the horizontal portion of the object to be coated is to be coated, a powder coating apparatus is used in which an electrostatic application electrode for generating ions is disposed radially outward of the powder coating spray port. As a result, the outside of the powder coating that is sprayed radially is preferentially charged, so that the occurrence of electrostatic repulsion of the powder coating itself can be prevented as much as possible. The smoothness of can be ensured satisfactorily.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the powder coating apparatus used for charging the powder coating with ions and attaching the charged powder coating to the object to be coated is provided on the object to be coated. It is used separately when the vertical part is painted and when the horizontal part of the object is painted. For the vertical part of the object to be coated, by using a powder coating device in which the electrostatic application electrode is disposed radially inward of the powder coating material injection port, the charging efficiency of ions to the powder coating material is improved. While improving, it can prevent as much as possible that a powder coating material hangs down vertically under the effect | action of gravity, and can ensure favorable smoothness of an external appearance finish. Furthermore, for the horizontal part of the object to be coated, a powder coating device in which the electrostatic application electrode is arranged radially outward of the powder coating spray nozzle can be used. A peculiar effect that it is possible to prevent the occurrence of repulsion as much as possible and to ensure good smoothness of the appearance finish is obtained.
