Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire capable of achieving improved steering stability performance when traveling on a wet road surface.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, improvements in the tread pattern have been made with respect to performance during rainy weather, that is, when running on a wet road surface. Performance improvement in rainy weather is achieved by the arrangement and design of the tire circumferential direction or width direction groove of the tread part.
[0003]
The major aim is drainage from within the tire ground contact surface, and it is known that the groove volume should be increased.
[0004]
However, increasing the groove volume leads to a reduction in the ground contact area and lowers the steering stability performance in fine weather.
[0005]
Sipes (thin grooves) have also been improved for the purpose of reducing the reduction of the ground contact area and ensuring drainage.
[0006]
The sipe ensures the contact with the road surface by draining the water in the block ground surface.
[0007]
Therefore, it is thought that drainage improves by arranging more sipes in the block.
[0008]
And, in order to ensure the drainage function, it is desirable that the sipe can be connected to the peripheral part of the block and connected to the groove part outside the block to secure the water channel.
[0009]
However, when many sipes are arranged in the block and all of them are connected to the groove portion outside the block, the rigidity of the block is greatly reduced.
[0010]
This becomes a factor that deteriorates the steering stability performance during fine weather and rainy weather.
[0011]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
If the groove width is reduced, sufficient drainage effect cannot be obtained.
[0012]
Further, since the sipe insertion has a great balance with the block rigidity surface, the contribution to performance is great from the time of new goods to the time of wear.
[0013]
An object of the present invention is to provide a pneumatic tire that can improve the driving stability performance when traveling on a wet road surface by satisfying the performance required for the tire by further improving the sipe and further improving drainage. .
[0014]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The invention according to
[0015]
In order to improve the drainage capacity, it is necessary that more sipes are arranged in the block ground plane and continue to the grooves outside the block.
[0016]
However, when a large number of sipes are arranged, it is inappropriate from the standpoint of block rigidity to make them all continuously connect to the grooves outside the block.
[0017]
In the pneumatic tire according to
[0018]
In addition, since at least one peripheral sipe branches off from the closed-loop central sipe, and this peripheral sipe is connected to the main groove outside the block, the water taken into the central sipe is sequentially transferred to the main groove. The drainage of the central sipe can be prevented from decreasing.
[0019]
In addition, since the block is not provided with a plurality of sipes that completely traverse the block, the block rigidity can be ensured.
[0020]
It should be noted that at least one peripheral sipe is sufficient for one block, but if the number is too large, the block rigidity is lowered, so that it is provided within a range where the block rigidity is not lowered and other performance is not lowered. preferable.
[0021]
In the pneumatic tire according to
[0022]
Here, when a sipe having a groove width is formed in a block, the ground contact area is reduced. In the pneumatic tire according to
[0023]
In the pneumatic tire according to
[0024]
Since the contribution to the decrease in the block rigidity due to the sipe is small in the central part of the block, the block rigidity is ensured even if the groove depth of the central sipe is increased. Therefore, the groove depth of the central sipe can be made deeper than that of the peripheral sipe, and the groove volume (contributing to water absorption on the ground contact surface) can be ensured.
[0025]
When the thickness of the central sipe part is set thinner than that of the peripheral sipe part, the groove volume is reduced. Therefore, the groove volume obtained by making the groove depth of the central sipe deeper than that of the peripheral sipe and making the sipe thinner. Can compensate for the decrease.
[0026]
Furthermore, in the pneumatic tire according to
[0027]
The sipe is preferably deepest in the vicinity of the center of the block, and it is necessary to suppress the sipe to a depth that does not significantly reduce the rigidity of the portion in the peripheral portion.
[0028]
Usually, the sipe depth dimension (maximum) is set smaller than the main groove depth dimension (smaller than the block height dimension). More specifically, when the depth dimension of the part is less than 2.0, the depth dimension of the central sipe / the depth dimension of the peripheral sipe is less than 2.0. That is, since the depth of the peripheral sipe is excessive, it is not preferable from the viewpoint of block rigidity.
[0029]
On the other hand, when the depth dimension of the deepest part / depth dimension of the shallowest part exceeds 8.0, more specifically, the depth dimension of the central sipe / the depth dimension of the peripheral sipe is 8.0. Exceeding this is not preferable because the drainage capacity decreases. Here, the reason why the drainage capacity is lowered is that the sipe depth dimension (maximum) is set smaller than the main groove depth dimension (smaller than the block height dimension), as described above. Under this condition, the depth dimension of the deepest part / the depth dimension of the shallowest part exceeds 8.0. This means that the depth dimension of the shallowest part is relatively smaller than the depth dimension of the deepest part. That is, the depth dimension of the peripheral sipe is reduced, and the water passage path cross-sectional area (perpendicular cross-sectional area in the longitudinal direction of the peripheral sipe) is reduced.
[0030]
The invention according to
[0031]
When the thickness dimension of the thickest part / thickness dimension of the thinnest part is less than 1.5, more specifically, when the thickness dimension of the peripheral sipe / thickness dimension of the central sipe is less than 1.5, This is not preferable because the drainage capacity to the main groove by the peripheral sipe is insufficient.
[0032]
On the other hand, when the thickness dimension of the thickest part / thickness dimension of the thinnest part exceeds 5.0, more specifically, the thickness dimension of the peripheral sipe / the thickness dimension of the central sipe is 5.0. If it exceeds 1, the thickness dimension of the peripheral sipe becomes excessive, which is not preferable from the viewpoint of securing the block rigidity surface and the ground contact area. When the rigidity of the block decreases or the contact area of the block decreases, the steering stability is deteriorated.
[0033]
It is desirable that the sipe is thick and shallow around the block. If the sipe is thick, the water flowing from the plurality of sipes can be efficiently drained by increasing the groove volume. On the contrary, since the contribution to the decrease in rigidity is small at the center of the block, it is desirable to arrange a plurality of thin and deep sipes. This is because the drainage is evenly provided in the grounding surface, and the reduction of the grounding area can be prevented by using a thin sipe.
[0034]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the pneumatic tire according to the first or second aspect, the sipe is formed by a blade formed by bonding a plurality of bent plate members.
[0035]
The blade necessary for sipe of the pneumatic tire according to
[0036]
In particular, when the thickness of the metal plate is not locally changed using a high-pressure press or the like, for example, a thin plate material having a constant thickness is bonded to form a central sipe and a peripheral sipe The thickness of the portion forming the peripheral sipe is the sum of the thicknesses of the portions forming the central sipe. That is, the sipe for a pneumatic tire according to
