Description
The present invention relates to an oil separator for blow-by gas. More specifically, the present invention relates to an oil separator structure that collects oil mist in blow-by gas generated in an engine crankcase of an internal combustion engine such as an automobile engine.
In internal combustion engines such as automobile engines, so-called PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) is the cause of air pollution when blowby gas leaking from the gap between the piston ring and cylinder wall during operation is the cause of air pollution. Blow-by gas is returned to the intake system by the system and recombusted.
Here, since the blow-by gas contains an oil mist obtained by atomizing lubricating oil such as engine oil, it is necessary to prevent the oil mist in the blow-by gas from flowing out into the intake system. Therefore, as means for collecting the oil mist in the blow-by gas, an oil separator is provided inside the cylinder head cover and in the middle of the connecting flow path connecting the crankcase and the intake pipe.
As an oil separator system, there are an inertial collision type, a labyrinth (maze type) type, and a cyclone type.
The inertial collision type is a system in which a collision plate that blocks the flow of blow-by gas is provided inside the oil separator, and the blow-by gas collides with the collision plate, and oil mist contained in the blow-by gas adheres to the collision plate and is collected. The labyrinth type is a system in which a partition plate is provided in a box-type device to increase the floating distance of the oil mist and encourage the oil mist to fall by its own weight. By providing the partition plate, the flow rate of blow-by gas is increased and the oil mist easily collides with the partition plate. Therefore, there is an effect that the oil mist is attached to the partition plate and collected. Therefore, the labyrinth type can be considered as a method including the inertial collision type. The inertial collision type and the labyrinth type have a common part in the method of collecting oil mist, and are often used together because the structure of the oil separator can be easily shared.
On the other hand, the cyclone type is a system in which blow-by gas is swirled in a cylindrical cyclone chamber and oil mist contained in the blow-by gas is separated by a centrifugal separation action. The cyclone type is different in the method of collecting oil mist from the inertial collision type and labyrinth type, so the structure of the cyclone type oil separator is different from that of the inertial collision type and labyrinth type due to the difference in the method of collecting oil mist. It is different from the thing.
FIG. 6 shows a cross-sectional view of a labyrinth
In addition, there is JP-A 2000-274225 (Patent Document 2) as a document that discloses a labyrinth type oil separator. In
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2001-246216 (Patent Document 3) is a document that discloses a cyclone type oil separator. Note that the baffle plate described in Patent Document 3 suppresses the outflow of blow-by gas from the cyclone chamber to facilitate the formation of a swirling flow, and includes an inertial collision type collision plate and a labyrinth type partition plate. The role is different.
By the way, in the labyrinth type oil separator according to the prior art shown in FIG. 6, the oil mist having a relatively large particle size collides with the partition plate and the inner wall surface and is separated from the blow-by gas. Does not collide with the partition plate or the inner wall and is difficult to separate.
Therefore, in order to be able to separate oil mist with a smaller particle size, the interval between the partition plates is reduced to increase the oil mist flow rate, or the oil separator capacity is increased to increase the oil mist floating distance. There is a need. However, narrowing the interval between the partition plates increases the pressure loss. In addition, it is difficult to increase the capacity of the oil separator from the viewpoint of making the engine compact.
Accordingly, the problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide an oil separator capable of collecting oil mist having a smaller particle diameter without increasing pressure loss and expanding the capacity of the oil separator. .
In order to solve the above problems, the oil separator for blow-by gas according to the present invention takes the following means.
First, an oil separator for blow-by gas according to the first aspect of the present invention is an oil separator that collects oil mist contained in blow-by gas generated in an engine crankcase, and faces the inlet of the blow-by gas. A collision wall that collides with blow-by gas that flows in from the inlet and is formed in a bag shape on one side of the inlet by a wall surface connected to the collision wall, and from the other side of the inlet And a collecting chamber for collecting oil mist formed in a path to the outlet of the blow-by gas, wherein the staying chamber is formed as a chamber in which a flow of blow-by gas forms a cyclone. .
According to the first aspect of the invention, the oil mist contained in the blow-by gas flowing in from the inflow port is collected by adhering to the collision wall by colliding with the collision wall disposed facing the inflow port. And the blow-by gas which collided with the collision wall and flowed into the staying chamber causes a swirling motion in the staying chamber formed as a chamber for forming a cyclone. Therefore, the oil mist having a small particle diameter in the blow-by gas collected in the staying chamber is aggregated into an oil mist having a large diameter by centrifugal force, and the aggregated oil mist adheres to the wall of the staying chamber and is collected. Furthermore, oil mist that has flowed into the collection chamber after agglomerating in the retention chamber and oil mist contained in blow-by gas that has collided with the collision wall and flowed into the collection chamber adhere to the wall of the collection chamber and are collected. .
Next, the second invention of the present invention is the blowby gas oil separator according to the first invention, characterized in that a partition plate for forming a labyrinth is disposed in the collection chamber.
According to the second aspect of the invention, the same effect as that of the first aspect of the invention can be obtained, and the oil mist that has agglomerated in the retention chamber and then flows into the collection chamber and collides with the collision wall to flow into the collection chamber. The oil mist contained in the blow-by gas collides with the partition plate arranged in the collection chamber and is collected by adhering to the partition plate.
Next, a third invention of the present invention is the blowby gas oil separator according to the first invention, wherein the collision wall and the inner wall surface of the oil separator are integrally formed.
According to the third aspect, in addition to obtaining the same effect as the first aspect, the collision wall and the staying chamber can be easily formed.
Next, a fourth invention of the present invention is the blowby gas oil separator according to the second invention, wherein the collision wall, the partition plate, and the inner wall surface of the oil separator are integrally formed. And
According to the fourth aspect of the invention, the same effects as those of the second aspect of the invention can be obtained, and the collision wall, the retention chamber, and the partition plate can be easily formed.
According to each invention of the present invention, the following effects can be obtained.
First, according to the first aspect of the invention, the oil mist contained in the blow-by gas flowing in from the inflow port adheres to the collision wall and is collected by colliding with the collision wall. Further, the oil mist having a small particle size in the blow-by gas collected in the residence chamber after colliding with the collision wall is aggregated by centrifugal force to become an oil mist having a larger particle size, and is attached to the wall of the residence chamber and collected. . Furthermore, oil mist that has flowed into the collection chamber after agglomerating in the retention chamber and oil mist contained in blow-by gas that has collided with the collision wall and flowed into the collection chamber adhere to the wall of the collection chamber and are collected. . Therefore, according to the first invention, oil mist having a smaller particle diameter can be collected.
Next, according to the second invention described above, in addition to obtaining the same effect as that of the first invention, the oil collecting chamber that collides with the oil mist and the collision wall that have aggregated in the retention chamber and then flowed into the collection chamber The oil mist contained in the blow-by gas that flows into the cylinder collides with the partition plate disposed in the collection chamber and is collected by adhering to the partition plate. For this reason, oil mist having a smaller particle diameter can be efficiently collected.

Next, according to the above-described fourth invention, the same effect as that of the second invention can be obtained, and the collision wall, the staying chamber, and the partition plate can be simply configured.
Hereinafter, the best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described.
FIG. 1 shows an external perspective view of an
FIG. 2 shows a top view of the
The

The
The
FIG. 3 shows the flow of blow-by gas inside the
As described above, according to the embodiment, the oil mist having a small particle diameter in the probey gas is also aggregated by the centrifugal force generated by the swirling motion in the
Since the

In this embodiment, the oil separator has a structure in which two systems are built in as an assembly of a casing and a lid, but may have a structure of only one system. Further, a structure in which the casing is assembled inside the cylinder head cover or a structure in which the casing is integrated with the cylinder head cover may be adopted.
The overall shape of the oil separator is not limited to the embodiments, and various forms can be made within the scope of the idea of the present invention.
The present invention is applicable not only to an oil separator attached to an automobile engine but also to a separator that separates oil in blow-by gas generated inside an internal combustion engine other than the automobile engine.
