Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil separator for locker cover by which the flowing direction of a blow-by gas can be changed, the space can be saved and the oil can be efficiently separated concretely regarding to a reducing device of the blow-by gas of an engine. SOLUTION: In an oil separator mounted on a diaphragm 2 for partitioning a locker cover 1 of an engine, an inner plate 3 comprising a plurality of through holes 3a is mounted close to the diaphragm 2 in parallel with an inner wall surface of the locker cover 1, and a plurality of projection streaks 1b are formed on a surface opposite to the inner plate 3. Whereby an area of a baffer can be widely taken, the separating performance of the oil mist can be improved, and the total height of an oil separator chamber can be made miniaturized and small.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an oil separator for separating oil mist of blow-by gas generated from an engine power part of an engine into air and oil has been disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 60-393.
No. 8, a processing structure is known. This structure is described in detail with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. 3, a partition wall (5) is provided inside the rocker cover (1) of the engine to form an oil separator chamber. A baffle plate (4) that protrudes alternately and opposingly on the upper and lower side walls is provided so that the flow of the blow-by gas is largely meandering so as to collide with the flow of the blow-by gas.
Oil mist is separated while meandering.

In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for a low bonnet as the air resistance of automobiles has been reduced, whereby the overall height of the rocker cover (1) has been reduced, that is, the size of the oil separator chamber has been reduced. There is a demand for miniaturization of the overall height. However, if the size of the oil separator chamber is reduced by using an oil separator structure in which a baffle plate (4) is arranged in the horizontal direction of the conventional rocker cover (1) shown in FIG. 3, it is naturally necessary to separate oil in the oil mist. The height dimension of the baffle plate (4) must be reduced, which inevitably reduces the effective processing area, thereby lowering the oil separation efficiency in the oil mist, and consequently the amount of oil entering the PCV system. There is a possibility that problems such as an increase in oil consumption, an increase in oil consumption, or emission of white smoke from the exhaust system may occur. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide an oil separator for a rocker cover which can eliminate all such disadvantages, save space, and achieve efficient oil separation.

The present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, oil of blow-by gas is supplied into a rocker cover (1) located at the head of an engine. An oil separator to which a partition plate (2) for separation is attached, wherein the inner plate (3) having a plurality of through holes (3a) cut into the partition plate (2) forming an oil separator chamber. The rocker cover (1) is disposed close to and parallel to the inner wall surface of the top (1a) of the rocker cover (1).
A plurality of protrusions (1b) are provided on a surface of the inner wall surface of the rocker cover (1) facing the inner plate (3). Further, as shown in FIG. 1, a plurality of protrusions (1b) provided on the inner wall surface of the rocker cover (1) are arranged at right angles to the flow direction (F) of the blow-by gas.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS As described above, the present invention provides an inner plate (3) having a through hole (3a) for an inner wall surface of a rocker cover (1) and a projection (1b) provided on the inner wall surface.
In the flow of the blow-by gas, as shown in FIG. 1, blow-by gas generated from the engine engine portion passes through the through-hole (3a), and the rocker cover (1) which is close to and facing the blow-by gas. It collides with the inner wall surface and separates oil mist in the blow-by gas.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS In order to carry out the present invention, the separating action will be described in detail. When the blow-by gas passes through the through-hole (3a) of the inner plate (3) as shown in FIG. The flow velocity is increased by the passing Venturi effect, and the inner wall surface (top 1
(back side of a) at high speed. Here, the blow-by gas that has collided is further disturbed and agitated in the small reservoir space formed by each of the protrusions (1b) serving as a partition, and the oil mist in the blow-by gas is efficiently separated here. It will be. In order to form a small reservoir space as a partition as described above, it is necessary to arrange a plurality of the protrusions (1b) at right angles to the flow direction of the blow-by gas and a plurality of protrusions (1b). It is required to make a shape according to the situation such as the arrangement space and the amount of separation processing, such as the projecting dimensions and the shape of the strip itself, as well as the arrangement of straight, curved, and hooks.

The distance between the inner plate (3) provided on the partition plate (2), which is a constituent material of the oil separator chamber, and the inner surface of the top (1a) of the rocker cover (1) depends on the flow rate of the blow-by gas and the collision property. And the flow stirrability of the ridges (1b).
Since the surfaces 1a) are close to each other in a parallel relationship, they are arranged at an internal position near the top portion (1a) of the rocker cover (1), and greatly save space. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the space saving is further pursued. In this embodiment, the partition plate (2) and the inner plate (3) are provided at the same level, and the valve operating chamber in the rocker cover (1) is provided. In this case, more space can be secured, and in some cases, it is also possible to arrange the inner plate (3) further deeply with respect to the partition plate (2) so as to save space.

According to the above configuration, the following excellent effects can be obtained. The oil separator of the present invention,
By disposing the inner plate (3) close to the inner surface of the rocker cover (1) on the partition plate (2), the area of the baffle plate that disturbs the flow direction of the blow-by gas can be provided widely, and the oil mist can be separated. Improve performance.
Further, the overall height of the oil separator chamber can be reduced and reduced in size without any reduction in oil mist separation performance, so that engine layout can be improved and the vehicle bonnet can be reduced. In addition, since the through hole (3a) of the inner plate (3) serving as an oil mist intake port is located above the rocker cover (1), oil scraped up by the cam nose and oil droplets generated by the cam portion are removed by the oil separator. It does not prevent intrusion into the room and does not reduce the separation efficiency at all.
