ここで、Vは混合溶液全体の体積、Φi(i=1、2)はポリマ(ポリイミド、ポリアミック酸)体積比、Si(i=1、2)はポリマ(ポリイミド、ポリアミック酸)溶解度定数、Tは温度、ΔSmはエントロピーの変化、ΔHmはエンタルピの変化、そして、ΔGmはギブズの 自由エネルギーの変化を各々表す。
Claims (4)
- 画素電極が形成された下部基板及び共通電極が形成された上部基板の対向するそれぞれの最上位面に、電界無印加時に液晶を特定の方向に配列させ、高秩序配向表面を有する配向膜を形成する方法であって、
前記上部基板及び下部基板上にポリイミド及びポリアミック酸からなる有機高分子材料と溶剤との混合溶液を塗布するステップと、
前記溶剤を揮発させると共に、前記有機高分子材料と前記溶剤との間の安定した相分離及び形成される配向膜に高秩序配向表面が得られるように前記混合溶液を互いに異なる温度で2回予備硬化させるステップと、
予備硬化した前記混合溶液を180〜240℃の温度で完全硬化させるステップとを含み、
前記予備硬化させるステップは、
40〜50℃の温度で行われる1次予備硬化ステップと、
50〜75℃の温度で行われる2次予備硬化ステップと、を含む
ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の配向膜形成方法。 - 前記予備硬化させるステップは、
−241〜−345kPa(-35〜-50psi)の真空圧力の下で前記1次予備硬化を行い、同じ真空圧力の下で前記2次予備硬化を行うステップであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置の配向膜形成方法。 - 画素電極が形成された下部基板及び共通電極が形成された上部基板の対向するそれぞれの最上位面に、電界無印加時に液晶を特定の方向に配列させ、高秩序配向表面を有する配向膜を形成する方法であって、
前記上部基板及び下部基板上にポリイミド及びポリアミック酸からなる有機高分子材料と溶剤との混合溶液を塗布するステップと、
前記混合溶液を−241〜−345kPa(-35〜-50psi)の真空圧力の下、且つ50℃未満の温度で1次予備硬化させるステップと、
前記有機高分子材料と前記溶剤との間の安定した相分離が得られるように、1次予備硬化した前記混合溶液を−241〜−345kPa(-35〜-50psi)の真空圧力の下、且つ50〜75℃の温度で2次予備硬化させるステップと、
2次予備硬化した前記混合溶液を180〜240℃の温度で完全硬化させるステップとを含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の配向膜形成方法。 - 前記1次予備硬化は、40〜50℃の温度で行われることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置の配向膜形成方法。
