22 第2吸気弁
Claims (9)
- シリンダー内に往復動可能に配置されたピストンと、
開放期間が固定で作動タイミングが可変の第1吸気弁と、
開放期間、リフト量及び作動タイミングが可変の第2吸気弁と、
を備え、
上記第2吸気弁の開放期間が、上記第1吸気弁の開放期間と同じ長さの標準開放期間、又は、それよりも短い短縮開放期間のいずれかに切換えられるように構成されていて、
上記第2吸気弁が上記短縮開放期間で作動するときには、上記ピストンが最大速度に到達し、気筒内と吸気マニフォールドの圧力が等しくなる時期まで該第2吸気弁が開かず、且つそれが圧縮行程の下死点後クランク角で90度まで閉じないように、上記第1吸気弁及び第2吸気弁の作動タイミングがリタードされる、
4サイクル往復動内燃機関。 - 上記第2吸気弁が上記標準開放期間又は短縮開放期間のどちらで作動しているかに関わらず、上記第2吸気弁と上記第1吸気弁とがエンジン・サイクルの同じ時点で閉じるように構成されている、請求項1に記載の往復動内燃機関。
- 部分負荷状態において上記第2吸記弁が短縮開放期間で作動するときに、この第2吸気弁が吸気行程の上死点後クランク角で約75度の時点で開くように、上記第1吸気弁及び第2吸気弁の作動タイミングがリタードされる、請求項1又は2のいずれかに記載の往復動内燃機関。
- 上記第1吸気弁及び第2吸気弁は、カム・タイミング可変システムの備わる共通のカムシャフトによって駆動されるように構成されている、請求項1〜3のいずれか1つに記載の往復動内燃機関。
- 上記第1及び第2吸気弁がそれぞれ別々のカムシャフトを備えた駆動部により駆動され、
上記第2吸気弁の駆動部がカム・ローブ切換システムを更に有する、前記請求項1〜3のいずれか1つに記載の往復動内燃機関。 - 上記第2吸気弁の開放期間が、上記標準開放期間及びそれよりも約20%減少した短縮開放期間のいずれかに切換えられるように構成され、且つ、該第2吸気弁のリフト量が、上記標準開放期間では上記第1吸気弁のリフト量と等価になる一方、上記短縮開放期間ではそれよりも約30〜50%減少したリフト量となるように構成されている、前記請求項1〜5のいずれか1つに記載の往復動内燃機関。
- 4サイクル往復動内燃機関の吸気弁を作動させる方法であって、
開放期間を固定して、第1吸気弁を作動させる工程と、
開放期間及びリフト量を可変にし、開放期間については、上記第1吸気弁の開放期間と同じ長さの標準開放期間、又は、それよりも短い短縮開放期間のいずれかに切換えて、第2吸気弁を作動させる工程と、
上記第2吸気弁を上記短縮開放期間で作動させるときに、上記ピストンが最大速度に到達し、気筒内と吸気マニフォールドの圧力が等しくなる時期まで該第2吸気弁が開かず、且つそれが圧縮行程の下死点後クランク角で90度まで閉じないように、上記第1吸気弁及び第2吸気弁の作動タイミングをリタードさせる工程と、を有し、
上記第1吸気弁及び第2吸気弁の作動タイミングをリタードさせる工程では、第2吸気弁の開放期間及びリフト量に関わらず、第1吸気弁及び第2吸気弁の両方が略同時に閉じるように、該第1吸気弁及び第2吸気弁の作動タイミングを制御する、
方法。 - 部分負荷状態において上記第2吸気弁を上記短縮開放期間で作動させるとき、該第2吸気弁が吸気行程の上死点後クランク角で約75度の時点で開くように、上記第1吸気弁及び上記第2吸気弁の作動タイミングをリタードさせる、請求項7の方法。
- 部分負荷状態において上記第2吸気弁を上記短縮開放期間で作動させるとき、該第2吸気弁が吸気行程の上死点後クランク角で約75度の時点で開き始め、且つ、上記第1吸気弁が上死点後クランク角で約30度の時点で開き始めるように、上記第1吸気弁及び上記第2吸気弁の開放時期をリタードさせる、請求項7の方法。
