Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a thermal head for recording using heat generated by a heating element, and a thermal printer using the thermal head.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, thermal heads have been used as recording devices such as facsimiles and video printers.
[0003]
In such a conventional thermal head, a head substrate having a plurality of linearly arranged heating elements on the upper surface is placed on a heat radiating plate made of a metal such as aluminum via a heat radiating resin as an adhesive or a double-sided tape. It has a structure that was. Such a thermal head, for example, when using thermal paper as a recording medium, transports the thermal paper in the sub-scanning direction (direction perpendicular to the arrangement direction of the heating elements) using a platen roller disposed on the thermal head. , While causing the thermal paper to slidably contact the thermal head, the heating elements are selectively heated based on an external print signal, and the generated heat is conducted to the thermal paper on the heating elements, The thermal paper is colored by the conducted heat to form a predetermined print on the thermal paper.
[0004]
When an ink ribbon and recording paper are used as the recording medium, the ink ribbon ink is melted by the heat generated by the heating element while the ink ribbon and the recording paper are transported onto the heating element, and the melting is performed. A predetermined print is formed on the recording paper by transferring the ink to the recording paper.
[0005]
As shown in FIG. 4, a pair of
[0006]
By the way, when the recording medium is brought into sliding contact with the thermal head, the frictional force generated between the two tends to increase as the temperature of the thermal head increases (Patent Document 1). On the other hand, it may be conveyed in an oblique direction or a paper jam may occur. In this case, a large force is applied to the head substrate not only in the sub-scanning direction but also in various directions such as the main scanning direction (direction parallel to the arrangement of the heating elements) and the oblique direction.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the conventional thermal head, only a pair of grooves along the main scanning direction is formed as shown in FIG. 4 , or as shown in Patent Document 2, in the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction. Since only a pair of grooves are formed, there is no brake that can be a great brake against various external forces applied to the head substrate, such as an oblique direction. Therefore, the applied external force is particularly large. In this case, there is a problem that the head substrate is largely displaced from the heat sink and it is difficult to form a good print.
[0010]
The present invention has been devised in view of the above problems, and an object thereof is to provide a high-performance thermal head and a thermal printer capable of firmly attaching a head substrate on a heat sink. There is.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In the thermal head of the present invention, a head substrate having a plurality of heating elements is placed on the upper surface of a heat radiating plate via an adhesive, and a print is formed while conveying a recording medium on the plurality of heating elements. in the thermal head, the heat radiating plate, the housing part of the adhesive material, and a circular shape when viewed in plan, elliptical, with has a groove which forms an arc-shaped, or spiral on the top surface, before average number number of grooves present in the compartment of the 1 cm × 1 cm upon dividing the upper surface of serial heat sink section of 1 cm × 1 cm, or upon classified into finer partitions than compartment of the 1 cm × 1 cm, the number in terms of the average number of the grooves present from the average number of grooves present in the fine partition per 1 cm 2 is characterized in der Rukoto 1 or more.
[0012]
Further, in the thermal head of the present invention, before Kimizo ranges depth of 0.1 m to 0.4 m, and it is preferable that the width is in the range of 13Myuemu~20myuemu.
[0013]
Further, in the thermal head of the present invention, the groove preferably being provided et the region immediately below at least the plurality of heat generating elements of the upper surface of the heat radiating plate.
[0014]
Furthermore, in the thermal head of the present invention, the groove preferably has a number provided et al is in the region immediately below than the region directly under the plurality of heat generating elements on the top surface of the heat radiating plate.
[0015]
Furthermore, in the thermal head of the present invention, the average number of grooves present in the compartment of the 1 cm × 1 cm of the upper surface of the front Symbol radiating plate upon classified into compartment 1 cm × 1 cm or finer than compartments of the 1 cm × 1 cm, when broken down in Do compartment number in terms of the average number of the grooves present from the average number of grooves present in the fine sections per 1 cm 2 is preferably 83 or ~827 pieces der Rukoto.
[0016]
Still further , the thermal head of the present invention includes a pair of grooves different from the grooves provided along the arrangement direction of the plurality of heating elements on the upper surface, and the pair of grooves is formed on the grooves. In comparison, the heat sink has a deep depth in the thickness direction .
[0017]
A thermal printer according to the present invention includes the above-described thermal head, and a transport unit that transports a recording medium onto the heating element while pressing the thermal head.
[0018]
According to the present invention, on the upper surface of the heat radiating plate on which the head substrate is placed, a groove for accommodating a part of the adhesive interposed between the head substrate and the heat radiating plate is provided at a density of 1 piece / cm 2. At the same time, since the groove has a circular shape, an elliptical shape, an arc shape, or a spiral shape when viewed in plan, the groove acts as a brake against external forces applied in various directions to the head substrate. . Therefore, it is possible to effectively prevent such a problem that the head substrate is largely displaced from the heat sink while using the thermal head or the thermal printer.
[0019]
In particular, when the groove is formed in a circular shape or a spiral shape in a plan view, the groove serves as a brake against forces in all directions substantially parallel to the upper surface of the heat radiating plate, which is particularly preferable.
[0020]
Further, according to the present invention, the groove is formed at least in the region directly under the heat generating element, thereby enhancing the braking effect by the groove in the region directly under the heat generating element that is easily affected by external force from a conveying means such as a platen roller. And the head substrate can be more firmly fixed to the heat sink. Such an effect can be further enhanced by forming more grooves in the region directly below the region directly below the heat generating element.

[0031]
The circuit wiring 5 connected to both ends of each heating element 4a is formed in a predetermined pattern from a metal material such as aluminum (Al) or copper (Cu), and supplies predetermined power to the heating element 4a. Functions as power supply wiring.
[0032]
The heating element 4a and the circuit wiring 5 are formed on the upper surface of the base plate 2 so as to form a predetermined pattern by employing a conventionally well-known thin film forming technique, specifically, sputtering, photolithography technique, etching technique or the like. [Experimental example]
Next, the function and effect of the present invention will be described based on experimental examples.
[0059]
In the first experiment, a thermal head A to D in which various grooves are formed on a heat sink while a 1 inch × 1 inch head substrate is placed on a heat sink by a double-sided tape, An external force in a direction inclined by 45 ° with respect to the main scanning direction is gradually applied to the head substrates of these thermal heads A to D, and the heat sink and the head are measured by measuring the load that the head substrate peels off from the heat sink. The adhesion strength with the substrate is examined. The thermal head A has a circular groove, the thermal head B has a groove parallel to the sub-scanning direction, and the thermal head C has a groove parallel to the main scanning direction. On the other hand, the thermal head D was not provided with a groove. As the double-sided tape, an acrylic resin having a thickness of about 50 μm was used. In the thermal heads A to C, the formation density of the grooves was about 600 / cm 2 , the average width of the grooves was 15 μm, and the average depth of the grooves was 0.2 μm. The above experimental results are shown in Table 1.
[0060]
[Table 1]
[0061]
According to Table 1, a small external force is applied to the thermal head D having no curved grooves, the thermal head C having grooves parallel to the main scanning direction, and the thermal head B having grooves parallel to the sub-scanning direction. The head substrate is peeled off. On the other hand, it was found that the thermal head A having a circular groove can withstand a large external force of about 8 kgf or more, and has an excellent adhesive force as compared with the thermal heads B, C, and D.
[0062]
(Second experiment)
In the second experiment, an experiment similar to the first experiment was performed by changing the formation density of the circular grooves little by little. The other conditions are the same as in the first experiment. The above experimental results are shown in Table 2.
[0063]
[Table 2]
[0064]
According to Table 2, in the sample in which the groove formation density is less than 1 piece / cm 2 , the head substrate was peeled off by a small external force. On the other hand, in the sample having a formation density of 1 piece / cm 2 or more, the external force that peels off the head substrate becomes relatively large. In particular, in the sample set to a formation density of 83 pieces / cm 2 or more, the adhesion force between the head substrate and the heat sink. Especially good results have been obtained.
[0065]
Therefore, according to the results of the first experiment and the second experiment described above, if the curved grooves are provided on the heat sink with a formation density of 1 piece / cm 2 or more, the direction oblique to the main scanning direction. It can be seen that even when an external force is applied to the head substrate, it is possible to satisfactorily suppress the displacement of the head substrate, and in particular, if the grooves are formed at 83 pieces / cm 2 or more, such an effect may become more remarkable. Recognize.
[0066]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, on the heat sink on which the head substrate is placed, a groove that accommodates a part of the adhesive interposed between the head substrate and the heat sink is formed at a density of 1 / cm 2. At the same time, since the groove is planarly formed, the groove acts as a brake against external forces applied in various directions applied to the head substrate. Therefore, it is possible to effectively prevent such a problem that the head substrate is largely displaced from the heat sink while using the thermal head or the thermal printer.
[0067]
In particular, when the groove is formed in a circular shape or a spiral shape in a plan view, the groove serves as a brake against forces in all directions substantially parallel to the upper surface of the heat radiating plate, which is particularly preferable.
[0068]
Further, according to the present invention, the groove is formed at least in the region directly under the heat generating element, thereby enhancing the braking effect by the groove in the region directly under the heat generating element that is easily affected by external force from a conveying means such as a platen roller. And the head substrate can be more firmly fixed to the heat sink. Such an effect can be further enhanced by forming more grooves in the region directly below the region directly below the heat generating element.
