- 第1の変調スキームを用いて変調されたデータを送受信できる第1の局と、
第2の変調スキームを用いて変調されたデータを送受信できる第2の局と、
前記第1および第2の局と通信するためのアクセスポイントと、
を備え、
前記アクセスポイントは、コンテンションフリー期間の始まりを示すビーコンフレームを送信し、前記コンテンションフリー期間の後にはコンテンション期間が続き、前記コンテンションフリー期間は、前記第2の局がイネーブルされ、分散制御機能アクセス機構に従って前記第2の変調スキームにより変調されたデータを送信するサブコンテンション期間を備えることを特徴とする、システム。 - 前記第1の変調スキームは、DSSS/CCK変調スキームであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2の変調スキームは、OFDM変調スキームであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記サブコンテンション期間は、前記コンテンションフリー期間の最後に出現することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記アクセスポイントは、前記サブコンテンション期間の継続時間をダイナミックに調整することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記アクセスポイントは、前記第1および第2の局それぞれの帯域幅要件に基づいて前記サブコンテンション期間の継続時間をさらに調整することを特徴とする、請求項5に記載のシステム。
- 前記アクセスポイントは、前記第1および第2の変調スキームを用いるそれぞれの装置の数に基づいて前記サブコンテンション期間の継続時間をさらに調整することを特徴とする、請求項5に記載のシステム。
- 前記コンテンション期間の間、前記第2の局は、前記第2の変調スキームを表す情報を有する送信要求フレームを送信することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記サブコンテンション期間の間、前記第2の局は、前記第2の変調スキームに従って変調された送信要求フレームおよび送信クリアフレームを送信することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2の局は、前記システムに接続したときに、前記第2の変調の性能を表す情報フィールドを送信することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記システムは、IEEE802.11規格の下で動作することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 第1の変調スキームに従って変調されたデータを送受信できる第1の局と、第2の変調スキームに従って変調されたデータを送受信できる第2の局とに、ローカルエリア・ネットワーク上で通信できるアクセスポイントであって、
前記アクセスポイントはコンテンションフリー期間の始まりを示すビーコンフレームを送信し、前記コンテンションフリー期間の後にはコンテンション期間が続き、前記コンテンションフリー期間は、前記第2の局がイネーブルされ、分散制御機能アクセス機構に従って前記第2の変調スキームにより変調されたデータを送信するサブコンテンション期間を備えることを特徴とする、アクセスポイント。 - 前記第1の変調スキームは、DSSS/CCK変調スキームであることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記第2の変調スキームは、OFDM変調スキームであることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記アクセスポイントは、前記サブコンテンション期間の継続時間をダイナミックに調整することを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記コンテンション期間の間、前記アクセスポイントは、前記第2の変調スキームを表す情報を有する送信要求フレームを送信することを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記サブコンテンション期間の間、前記アクセスポイントは、前記第2の変調スキームに従った送信要求フレームおよび送信クリアフレームを送信することを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記コンテンション期間の間、前記アクセスポイントは、前記第2の局から、前記第2の変調スキームを表す情報を有する送信要求フレームを受信することを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記第2の局が前記ローカルエリア・ネットワークに接続された時、前記アクセスポイントは、前記第2の局から前記第2の変調の性能を表す情報フィールドを受信することを特徴とする、請求項12に記載のアクセスポイント。
- ローカルエリア・ネットワーク内の局であって、
前記局は第1の変調スキームを用いてデータを送受信でき、
前記ローカルエリア・ネットワークは、第2の変調スキームを用いてデータを送受信できる第2の局と、どちらの局とも通信できるアクセスポイントとをさらに備え、
前記局は、前記アクセスポイントから送信されたビーコンフレームを受信し、前記ビーコンフレームはコンテンションフリー期間の始まりを示し、前記コンテンションフリー期間の後にコンテンション期間が続き、前記コンテンションフリー期間は、前記局がイネーブルされて分散制御機能アクセス機構に従って前記第1の変調スキームによりデータを送信するサブコンテンション期間を備えることを特徴とする、局。
