Description
Claims (14)
- 複数の光チャネルを接続する1セットのトランシーバと、
前記複数の光チャネルを前記1セットのトランシーバから受信するために接続される光集積回路と
を備え、
前記光集積回路が、
波長が異なる複数の単一チャネル光信号のそれぞれを増幅する複数の光増幅器と、
前記複数の光増幅器のそれぞれに接続される複数の導波管要素と、
前記複数の導波管要素に接続されるスターカプラーを有するアレイ型波長回折格子と
を備え、
前記複数の光増幅器のそれぞれは、増幅導波管要素を有し、前記複数の光増幅器中のそれぞれの前記増幅導波管要素は、前記アレイ型波長回折格子の非均一ゲイン・スペクトルを補償する長さを有しており、
前記複数の導波管要素および前記増幅導波管要素は、シリコン基板上のシリカ層に堆積されたシリカ、ゲルマニウム、およびエルビウムの層の選択された部分を除く全ての部分をリアクティブイオンエッチングにより除去してシリカ層を堆積することによって形成される
システム。 - 前記光集積回路に前記トランシーバを接続するための複数の光ファイバを更に備える
請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記複数の光増幅器がそれぞれ有する前記増幅導波管要素は、ポンプ光および光信号光を組み合わせるための、反応性物質がドープされた導波管要素を含む

前記複数の導波管要素は、前記複数の光増幅器の入力に接続され、前記複数の単一チャネル光信号を前記複数の光増幅器に入力する
請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記複数の導波管要素は、前記複数の光増幅器の出力に接続され、前記複数の光増幅器が増幅した前記複数の単一チャネル光信号を前記アレイ型波長回折格子に出力し、
前記アレイ型波長回折格子は、前記複数の単一チャネル光信号を多重チャネル光信号へ多重化する
請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記アレイ型波長回折格子は、前記複数の光増幅器の入力に接続された第1アレイ型波長回折格子と、前記複数の光増幅器の出力に接続された第2アレイ型波長回折格子とを有し、
前記複数の導波管要素は、前記第1アレイ型波長回折格子と前記複数の光増幅器の前記入力とを接続する複数の出力導波管要素と、前記第2アレイ型波長回折格子と前記複数の光増幅器の前記出力とを接続する複数の入力導波管要素とを有し、
前記第1アレイ型波長回折格子は、前記複数の出力導波管要素に接続されたスターカプラーを有し、前記第2アレイ型波長回折格子は、前記複数の入力導波管要素に接続されたスターカプラーを有する
請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 波長が異なる複数の単一チャネル光信号のそれぞれを増幅する複数の光増幅器と、
前記複数の光増幅器のそれぞれに接続される複数の導波管要素と、
前記複数の導波管要素に接続されるスターカプラーを有するアレイ型波長回折格子と
を備え、
前記複数の光増幅器のそれぞれは、増幅導波管要素を有し、前記複数の光増幅器中のそれぞれの前記増幅導波管要素は、前記アレイ型波長回折格子の非均一ゲイン・スペクトルを補償する長さを有しており、
前記複数の導波管要素および前記増幅導波管要素は、シリコン基板上のシリカ層に堆積されたシリカ、ゲルマニウム、およびエルビウムの層の選択された部分を除く全ての部分をリアクティブイオンエッチングにより除去してシリカ層を堆積することによって形成される
光集積回路。 - 前記アレイ型波長回折格子は、多重チャネル光信号を前記複数の単一チャネル光信号へと非多重化し、
前記複数の導波管要素は、前記複数の光増幅器の入力に接続され、前記複数の単一チャネル光信号を前記複数の光増幅器に入力する
請求項7に記載の光集積回路。 - 前記複数の導波管要素は、前記複数の光増幅器の出力に接続され、前記複数の光増幅器が増幅した前記複数の単一チャネル光信号を前記アレイ型波長回折格子に出力し、
前記アレイ型波長回折格子は、前記複数の単一チャネル光信号を多重チャネル光信号へ多重化する
請求項7に記載の光集積回路。 - 前記複数の光増幅器がそれぞれ有する前記増幅導波管要素は、ポンプ光および光信号光を組み合わせるための、反応性物質がドープされた導波管要素を含む
請求項7に記載の光集積回路。 - 前記複数の光増幅器にポンプ光を接続する複数のポンプ・インタフェース

請求項7に記載の光集積回路。 - 前記アレイ型波長回折格子は、前記複数の光増幅器の入力に接続された第1アレイ型波長回折格子と、前記複数の光増幅器の出力に接続された第2アレイ型波長回折格子とを有し、
前記複数の導波管要素は、前記第1アレイ型波長回折格子と前記複数の光増幅器の入力とを接続する複数の出力導波管要素と、前記第2アレイ型波長回折格子と前記複数の光増幅器の出力とを接続する複数の入力導波管要素とを有し、
前記第1アレイ型波長回折格子は、前記複数の出力導波管要素に接続されたスターカプラーを有し、前記第2アレイ型波長回折格子は、前記複数の入力導波管要素に接続されたスターカプラーを有する
