Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for processing an end portion of an automobile roof molding.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As shown in FIG. 6, a roof molding 70 is often attached to the roof 61 of the automobile 60. As shown in FIG. 7 which shows a part of the roof 61 with the roof molding 70 removed, the roof molding 70 hides the joint line J where the roof panel 62 and the outer side panel 63 are joined together. It fits into a groove 64 formed at the joint between the panels 62 and 63.
[0003]
As understood from FIG. 8, the roof molding 70 includes a leg portion 71 and a decorative portion 75 provided on the upper end of the leg portion 71 and serving as a design surface, and the leg portion is formed in the groove 64 of the joint portion. 71 is inserted and the decorative portion 75 is attached so as to close the groove 64. Further, in order to correctly attach and hold the roof molding 70 to the groove 64 of the joint portion and to reduce linear expansion, the metal core material 73 is often embedded in the leg portion 71 along the longitudinal direction. Reference numeral 76 denotes a lip (fin piece) formed along the longitudinal direction on both side surfaces of the lower portion of the leg portion 71 in order to ensure the fixing to the groove 64.
[0004]
By the way, the grooves 64 of the joint portion of the roof 61 are broken at the upper corner portion 65 when both ends in the vehicle front-rear direction are press-formed at the same depth as the center of the groove 64, and therefore gradually toward the end of the groove 64. It is shallow. Therefore, if the roof molding 70 is formed by simply cutting a molding material 70a made of a long extruded product into a predetermined length, the lower end of the leg portion 71 interferes with the body and the roof molding 70 can be correctly attached. Disappear. Furthermore, since the cut surface of the molding material 70a is aesthetically inferior, if the cut portion is used as the terminal portion of the roof molding 70 as it is, there is a problem that the aesthetic appearance is lowered. Therefore, it has been proposed to injection-mold a terminal portion (not shown) matching the depth of the end of the groove 64 on the cut surface of the molding material 70a cut to a predetermined length.
[0005]
However, in the case where the terminal portion is injection-molded, there is a problem that a seam line due to injection molding occurs between the molding material and the terminal portion on the surface of the terminal portion of the roof molding, and the appearance of the roof molding is damaged. was there. Furthermore, since the shrinkage rate of the resin is different between the main body part made of the molding material of the extrusion molded product and the terminal part formed by injection molding, cracks are generated in the seam line part due to the difference or deterioration of the heat shrinkage amount. In some cases, the terminal portion and the mall material may be separated.
[0006]
Thus, as a method for solving the problem of terminal part processing by injection molding, a terminal part processing method by hot press has been proposed (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-194056). In this processing method, as shown in FIG. 9, the terminal portion 70b of the molding material 70a cut into a predetermined length is removed from the terminal portion 70b by a required amount, leaving at least the decorative portion 75, and then the terminal portion. The terminal portion 70c of the roof molding 70 shaped into a desired shape as shown in FIG. 10 is obtained by hot pressing 70b. The distal end side 70d of the terminal portion 70c formed in this way has a shape that is bent at a substantially right angle to the back side, further improving the aesthetic appearance of the terminal portion 70c.
[0007]
Some roof moldings 70 have a rain gutter 77 on the surface of the decorative portion 75 as shown. This rain garter 77 guides rain water falling on the roof 61 in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and prevents it from dripping near the entrance door of the vehicle. Conventionally, the rain garter 77 is directed toward the center of the roof on the surface of the decorative portion 75. Thus, the rain gutter lip 78 is formed so as to project into a horn shape, and the rain gutter 77 is formed between the rain gutter lip 78 and the surface of the decorative portion 75.
[0008]
However, when the hot pressing is performed on the end portion 70b of the molding material 70a having the rain gutter 77, both the decorative portion 75 and the rain gutter lip 78 are folded and folded at the tip end side of the molding material terminal portion 70b. Therefore, the following problems occur in the terminal portion 70c of the obtained roof molding 70.
[0009]
First, a line or unevenness 79 due to the overlap of the rain gutter lip 78 is generated on the distal end side 70d of the processed terminal portion, and the aesthetic appearance is impaired. In addition, the unevenness 79 may prevent good fitting of the windshield molding in the fitting groove for the windshield molding of the roof provided so as to intersect with the end portion of the groove 64 of the roof.
[0010]
Second, since the terminal end tip side 70d is bent in a state in which the rain gutter lip 78 overlaps the decorative portion 75 and the resin thickness is increased, the amount of compression at the time of shaping by hot press is increased, There is a high risk of deformation due to residual stress after shaping. In addition, the distal end side 70d of the terminal portion cannot be unnecessarily thickened, and the amount of compression during the hot pressing cannot be reduced.
[0011]
Thirdly, due to the convenience of the hot press apparatus, at the time of hot pressing, the molding material 70a is usually arranged in the press mold so that the back side is up and the decorative portion 75 is facing down, and the molding material 70a is arranged from above the molding material 70a. Since the back side of the material is often heated, it is difficult to heat the tip of the rain garter lip 78 that is on the side opposite to the heat source and protrudes from the surface of the decorative portion 75, and easily forms due to insufficient heating. .
[0012]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and there is no line or unevenness caused by the rain gutter on the bent tip end side of the terminal portion, the appearance is beautiful, and the roof molding is less likely to be deformed after shaping. A terminal part processing method is provided.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. 1 is a perspective view showing the vicinity of a terminal portion of an automotive roof molding according to one embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing the back side of the roof molding in FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing a part of the molding material. FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing a state in which the back side of the molding material is removed, and FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view showing the state during hot pressing.
[0017]
First, an example of a roof molding according to the invention of claim 1 will be described, and then an example of a method for processing the end portion of the roof molding will be described.
[0018]
As shown in FIG. 4, the automobile roof molding 10 shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 is obtained from an extruded molded thermoplastic resin molding material 10 a having a predetermined cross-sectional shape shown in FIG. The body portion 11a is removed from the back side of the end portion 12a of the molding material 10a and is then hot-pressed. The main body portion 11 is mounted on the deep portion of the groove 64 of the roof 61 shown in FIG. The terminal unit 12 to be attached to the terminal is a series without a joint line.
[0019]
The main body 11 has the same cross-sectional shape as the molding material 10 a, and a leg portion 13 and a decorative portion 15 are integrally formed on the upper end of the leg portion 13.
The leg portion 13 in the main body portion is inserted into the groove 64 of the roof 61 to fit the roof molding 10 into the groove 64. The metal core 14 is embedded in the leg portion 13. On both sides, a lip 17 made of a soft resin is integrally formed in order to stably hold the roof molding 10 by pressing against the side wall of the groove 64 when the leg portion 13 is inserted into the groove 64. Yes.
[0020]
Further, the decorative portion 15 of the main body 11 has a surface 16 constituting a design surface, and has a width that closes the groove 64 of the roof, and projects from the upper end of the leg portion 13 to both sides in the width direction. On the surface 16 of the decorative portion 15 in the main body portion 11, a rain garter 18 having a notch shape with a substantially “<” shape in cross section is formed on one side in the width direction of the decorative portion 15 facing the center side of the roof 61. Has been.
[0021]
The rain garter 18 guides rain that has fallen on the roof 61 in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. A portion of the rain garter 18 that protrudes upward from the groove bottom 19 is an upper portion 20 of the decorative portion, and a portion that protrudes downward is a lower portion of the decorative portion. 21. Both the upper surface 20 and the lower surface 21 of the decorative part are part of the surface 16 of the decorative part 15 and constitute a design surface. It is preferable from the viewpoint of improving aesthetics that the base portion 22 of the upper portion 20 of the decorative portion does not form a step on the surface 16 of the decorative portion 15 as in this embodiment. The protrusion length of the rain gutter 18 from the groove bottom 19 (shown in FIG. 3) is preferably such that the upper part 20 of the decorative part is shorter than the lower part 21 of the decorative part as in this embodiment. Then, when the terminal portion 12a of the molding material 10a is hot-pressed, the amount of resin to be pressed is reduced, and it becomes easier to form the thin terminal portion distal end side 23 of the molding 10 and after shaping. The distortion becomes even less likely to occur. Furthermore, the roof molding 10 can efficiently receive rainwater at the decorative section lower stage 21 of the rain gutter 18.
[0022]
On the other hand, in the terminal part 12 of the roof molding 10, the leg part 13 is connected to the terminal part 12 from the main body part 11 side so that it can be easily understood from the removed state of the back side of the molding material 10a shown in FIG. The lower side of the leg portion 13 is cut obliquely toward the back side of the decorative portion surface 16 on the back side of the decorative portion 15 so as to become thinner toward the distal end side 23 of the decorative portion 15, and the lip 17 of the leg portion 13 is also removed. . Reference numeral 24 denotes a cut portion of the leg portion 13 formed by the cutting, and is cut according to the depth of the end portion of the groove 64 of the roof 61. In this embodiment, the leg portion 13 is completely removed together with the metal core material 14 at the distal end side 23 of the terminal portion 12.
[0023]
In addition, the decorative portion 15 of the terminal portion 12 has the surface 16 of the decorative portion 15 formed into a gentle curved surface by heat press processing on the molding material 10a removed on the back side of the terminal portion, and the distal end side 23 of the terminal portion 12. The rain garter 18 is shaped so as to be gradually closed from the main body 11 side, and the rain garter 18 disappears on the distal end side 23. Further, as shown in FIG. 4, the lower end portion 21 of the rain garter 18 is cut off together with the leg portion 13 and the remaining portion 25 of the decorative portion including the upper portion 20 of the decorative portion is heated on the distal end side 23 of the terminal portion 12. It is bent at a substantially right angle to the back side of the decorative portion 15 by pressing and is widened to a predetermined width.
[0024]
The end portion 23 on the end of the roof molding 10 having the above-described structure is formed by bending only the upper part 20 and the remaining part 25 of the decorative part above the groove bottom part 19 of the rain gutter 18 by hot pressing. Therefore, there is no line or unevenness of the edge 26 of the upper stage 20 that is generated when the decorative part upper stage 20 and the lower stage 21 overlap with each other on the front end side 23 surface. The mounting property to 61 is improved. Further, since the decorative portion lower stage 21 is removed and the amount of resin is reduced, the terminal portion distal end side 23 has a small amount of compression at the time of hot press processing. Since the residual stress is small, it is difficult for subsequent distortion to occur, and the appearance and wearability can be prevented from being deteriorated.
[0025]
Next, an example of the terminal part processing method of the roof molding 10 will be described. First, a thermoplastic resin molding blank 10a having a predetermined cross-sectional shape shown in FIG. 3, that is, the leg portion 13, the decorative portion 15, and the rain gutter 18 on the surface thereof is cut into a predetermined length. A surface 16 of the decorative portion 15 constitutes a design surface, while a metal core 14 is embedded in the leg portion 13 and a lip 17 is formed at the lower end.
[0026]
As shown in FIG. 4, the back side of the terminal portion 12a is cut out for a predetermined length with respect to the predetermined length of the molding material 10a. This excision is performed over a range corresponding to the shallow portion at the end of the groove 64 of the roof, but the leg portion 13 and the decoration lower portion 21 are excised from the end portion 23a for a required length, for example, about 1 cm. In the remaining length portion of the terminal portion 12a, the lower portion 13a of the leg portion 13 is inclined so that the thickness of the molding material 10a decreases from the body portion 10a side of the molding material 10a toward the terminal portion tip 23a. Cut into shape. The excision method is performed by a known cutting method using a cutter or a press.
[0027]
Next, as shown in FIG. 5A, the terminal portion 12a of the molding material 10a is placed on the receiving die 36 of the press mold 30 with the back side up, and the terminal portion 12a is heated by heating means H such as a heater. Soften by heating. The receiving die 36 is formed with a cavity surface 37 having a desired roof molding terminal portion shape. The degree of the heating is such that the terminal portion 12a is softened, and is set to an appropriate temperature according to the material of the molding material 10a. The cavity surface 37 of the receiving mold 36 is configured such that a cavity surface front end portion 38 at the back of the receiving mold 37 is formed of a standing wall, and forms a shaping surface of the bent distal end side 23 of the end portion 12 of the roof molding 10. Yes. In addition, the molding material terminal portion 12a is placed on the receiving mold 36 so that the terminal portion tip 23a of the molding material 10a rides over the tip portion 38 of the cavity surface 37.
[0028]
After the heat softening of the terminal portion 12a, as shown in FIG. 5B, the cut portion 24 of the terminal portion 12a is pressed by the pressing die 31 of the press mold 30 and shaped into a desired terminal portion shape. At that time, the distal end 23a of the molding material 10a is bent substantially perpendicularly to the back side by the standing wall of the cavity surface distal end portion 38, and the remaining decorative portion 25 including the upper portion 20 of the decorative portion is compressed to be desired. Widened by thickness. It should be noted that the end portion 23a side of the molding material 10a has its back surface pressed against the decorative portion lower step 21 and the cut end surface 13b (shown in FIG. 4) of the leg portion 13 by bending to maintain the bent shape. preferable.
[0029]
Further, the excess resin at the terminal portion 12a of the molding material 10a becomes a burr and is formed at the edge of the terminal portion 12a and finally removed. Then, if the said press-molding die 30 is opened and a molded product is taken out, the terminal part 12 of the desired roof molding 10 shown in FIG.1 and FIG.2 will be obtained. The terminal 12 of the roof molding thus obtained is excellent in aesthetics and wearability as described above, and is less likely to cause subsequent distortion.
[0030]
【The invention's effect】
As illustrated and described above, according to the roof molding and the roof molding terminal processing method according to the first to third aspects of the present invention, the leg portion is provided on the distal end side of the terminal portion and the groove of the rain garter on the rain garter side of the decorative portion. Since the bottom of the inner bottom part is removed and the remaining decorative part including the upper side of the rain gutter is bent and shaped to the back side, when the heat girder is overlapped on the front end side surface of the roof molding with the rain gutter overlapped The resulting lines and irregularities do not occur, and the effect of improving the beauty of the terminal portion and the ease of mounting on the roof can be obtained.
[0031]
Furthermore, since the lower end of the rain gutter is removed from the bottom end of the rain garter on the tip end side of the terminal portion, and the heat amount is reduced in a state where the amount of resin is reduced, the amount of compression at the time of hot pressing is reduced, and Since the residual stress becomes slight, subsequent distortion is less likely to occur, and aesthetics and wearability can be further improved.
[0032]
In addition to these effects , the molding material is provided with a rain garter having a cut-out shape with a substantially cross-sectional shape of the cross section on the one side surface of the decorative part, the upper part of the groove part of the rain garter above the groove upper part, Since the bottom part of the groove is the lower part of the decorative part, and there is no step shape on the decorative part surface corresponding to the base part of the upper part of the decorative part, the tip side of the terminal part that is bent by hot press processing is used. In the prior art, lines and irregularities caused by the irregularities of the rain gutter base do not appear, and the aesthetics and the wearability can be further improved.
[0033]
In the invention of claim 3 , the upper part of the decorative part on the upper side of the rain gutter is made shorter than the lower part of the decorative part on the lower side of the rain gutter. The amount of resin in the decorative portion is further reduced, it becomes easier to mold the tip end side of the thin end portion, and distortion after shaping is further less likely to occur. Furthermore, the roof molding after processing the terminal portion can receive rainwater well with the rain gutter.
