Description
酸素中でプラズマ処理を実行した後、100gのHYDAK B-23K、6.87gのDESMODUR N-75及び306.7gのHYDAK PMAを含むベースコート調合液の中に、ポリプロピレンカートリッジを3分間浸漬し、静かに攪拌した。HYDAKは、ペンシルベニア州フォート・ワシントンのBiocoat Incorporatedの登録商標であり、DESMODURは、Bayer AGの登録商標である。HYDAK B-23K及びHYDAK PMAは、アクリルベースコート重合体溶液又はエマルションに関連し、商標DESMODURは、ポリイソシアネート架橋剤に関連する。上記の成分の組み合わせがベースコートを構成する。
実施例1のように塗布された被覆膜の耐久安全性、先に説明された調合成分及び手順を実証するものとして、2.75×6.75×0.25インチの大きさの2枚のポリプロピレンパネルの各々の片面に全く同じ被覆膜を形成した。被覆面を上向きにして、それらのパネルをBYK Gardner磨耗試験装置(メリーランド州コロンビアのBYK Gardner USAより入手可能な部品番号LAG-8100)の中に装着した。この装置は、ASTM方法D 2486に準拠する。パネルが脱イオン水に浸漬されている間に、被覆面の前面を、450gの重量の剛性ナイロン毛を有するブラシにより、毎分37サイクルの速度で擦った。300,000サイクルを超えた(600,000ストロークを超えた)後、被覆膜に変化はなかった。被覆膜は、試験開始時と同じように潤滑性を保ち、接着力を失わず、薄片として剥がれ落ちたり、白色化したりすることはなかった。また、被覆膜は、気泡も生じず、あるいは他のどのような種類の障害の兆候も示さなかった。
Claims (7)
- 眼内レンズが内面に沿って前進する管路を含む眼内レンズの挿入装置の潤滑性向上方法であって、
前記内面の少なくとも一部に2層被覆膜を塗布する塗布工程を有し、
前記2層被覆膜は、ベースコート及びトップコートを含み、
前記ベースコートは、前記内面に共有結合されることなく接着し、前記ベースコートを前記トップコートに化学的にグラフト結合させることが可能な官能基を有し、
前記トップコートは潤滑性を有し、
前記ベースコートは、前記管路の前記内面に最初に塗布され、
前記挿入装置は、その後、乾燥ガス源に接触されて前記ガスが前記管路を通過し、
前記挿入装置は、前記ベースコートを乾燥するために加熱され、
前記トップコートは、その後、前記管路の内面に塗布され、
前記挿入装置は、その後、再度乾燥ガス源に接触されて前記ガスが前記管路を通過し、
前記挿入装置は、前記ベースコートを架橋し前記トップコートの共有結合を前記ベースコートに提供するために加熱され、
前記2層被覆膜は、連続的でかつ永続性を有し、前記トップコート及び前記ベースコートは、グラフト結合後もそれら個別の特性を保持することを特徴とする潤滑性向上方法。 - 前記塗布工程に先立って、前記内面を洗浄する工程が実行されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の潤滑性向上方法。
- 前記塗布工程は、多糖類、セルロース誘導体、ポリアクリル酸及びその水溶性共重合体、並びにポリエチレングリコールで構成される群から前記トップコートを選択する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の潤滑性向上方法。
- 前記塗布工程は、ヒアルロナンであるように前記トップコートを選択する工程を含む請求項1記載の潤滑性向上方法。
- 前記塗布工程は、界面活性剤、架橋剤、可塑剤、溶剤、塩及び平滑剤で構成されるから選択される少なくとも1つの材料を含むように前記トップコートを選択する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の潤滑性向上方法。
- 前記塗布工程は、有機溶剤に溶解された状態で供給される重合体又は共重合体を含むように前記ベースコートを選択する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の潤滑性向上方法。
- 前記塗布工程は、水性コロイド分散液又はエマルション、あるいは非水性分散液として供給される重合体又は共重合体を含むように前記ベースコートを選択することを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の潤滑性向上方法。
