Description
The present invention relates to a carbon dioxide adsorption method capable of adsorbing carbon dioxide from a gas containing moisture at a high temperature.
Environmental conservation is an important issue today, and among them, suppressing carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions is one of the most important.
It is desirable that carbon dioxide from fixed sources such as thermal power plants and factories be separated and recovered before being released into the atmosphere and stored or reused. This is based on the fact that the higher the concentration, the easier the recovery of carbon dioxide.
As a method for recovering carbon dioxide from such a fixed generation source, a physical adsorption method, a chemical absorption method, a membrane separation method, a distillation method and the like are conventionally known. However, the conventional recovery technique has practically economical or technical problems.
For example, as a method for recovering carbon dioxide from dry gas, there is a method using an adsorbent such as silica gel, alumina, zeolite, etc., but gas containing water vapor such as flue gas of thermal power plant is adsorbed by adsorption of water vapor. There is a problem that the adsorbing ability of the agent rapidly decreases. Regarding this problem, activated carbon-based adsorbents, which are relatively less affected by water vapor, have been studied, but no practical technology has been completed.
。 In view of such problems, the present inventors have already been able to effectively recover carbon dioxide from a gas containing water vapor and carbon dioxide at a low cost by adopting a special adsorbent. A high carbon dioxide recovery method has been developed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
This carbon dioxide recovery method involves passing water vapor and carbon dioxide through a porous material (hereinafter referred to as “potassium carbonate-carrying adsorbent”) in which 2K 2 CO 3 .3H 2 O is supported in pores. It is something to collect.
The carbon dioxide recovery method described in Patent Document 1 is capable of efficiently recovering carbon dioxide from a gas containing water vapor and carbon dioxide at low cost, and is particularly practical in a thermal power plant or the like. Met.
However, in the thing of patent document 1, there existed a problem that the temperature of the waste gas passed through a potassium carbonate carrying | support adsorbent had to be suppressed below to a predetermined value.
That is, the potassium carbonate-supported adsorbent has the characteristic that the carbon dioxide adsorbing ability is lowered at a high temperature exceeding 80 ° C., although it has an excellent carbon dioxide adsorbing ability for exhaust gas of 80 ° C. or lower. However, when this is used as a carbon dioxide adsorbent, there is a problem that the temperature of the exhaust gas must be suppressed to 80 ° C. or lower.
This is because, in consideration of the fact that the exhaust gas temperature often reaches about 100 ° C. or more in a thermal power plant or factory, an energy loss is generated and a facility for cooling the exhaust gas is required. End up.
The present invention has been made in order to solve the problems of such a conventional carbon dioxide adsorbent, and is intended to recover carbon dioxide at a higher temperature from a gas containing water vapor and carbon dioxide. This is intended to enable efficient and efficient carbon dioxide recovery at low cost.
In order to solve the above-described problem, the carbon dioxide adsorption method according to claim 1 includes a porous material having fine pores and a supported material supported in the pores, and the supported material is In addition, carbon dioxide adsorbent containing one or both of rubidium carbonate and cesium carbonate is used, and carbon dioxide is adsorbed from a gas containing moisture at a temperature higher than 80 ° C. and not higher than 130 ° C.
In the structure according to claim 1, configured as described above, the supported material contains one or both of rubidium carbonate and cesium carbonate, and the carbon dioxide adsorbent having the supported material is about 130 ° C. Since it has a high carbon dioxide adsorption capacity at low temperatures, it is possible to adsorb carbon dioxide without cooling even a gas having a temperature higher than 80 ° C.
For this reason, when recovering carbon dioxide from exhaust gas from a thermal power plant or factory, even if the exhaust gas temperature is 80 ° C or higher, equipment for cooling the exhaust gas is required if it is lower than about 130 ° C. Moreover, energy loss due to cooling can be reduced.
Furthermore, according to this carbon dioxide adsorbent, the carbon dioxide adsorption capacity hardly decreases even in the presence of water vapor, and no special water vapor removal step is required.
Therefore, according to the first aspect of the present invention, a practical carbon dioxide adsorption method capable of reducing the carbon dioxide recovery cost by suppressing the capital investment and the energy loss is provided.
The invention according to claim 2 is the carbon dioxide adsorption method according to claim 1, wherein the supported object contains potassium carbonate.
In the thing of Claim 2 comprised in this way, the said to-be-supported object contains one or both of rubidium carbonate and cesium carbonate, and also contains potassium carbonate. Since the carbon dioxide adsorbent having the supported material has a high carbon dioxide adsorption ability at one or both of rubidium carbonate and cesium carbonate under a temperature lower than about 130 ° C., a gas having a temperature higher than 80 ° C. Even so, carbon dioxide can be adsorbed without cooling.
Therefore, according to the second aspect of the present invention, there is provided a practical carbon dioxide adsorption method capable of suppressing the capital investment and energy loss and reducing the carbon dioxide recovery cost.
In the invention according to
In the structure according to
The invention described in claim 4 is the carbon dioxide adsorption method according to any one of claims 1 to 3 , wherein a content ratio of the supported object is 1% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less.
In such a configuration, a carbon dioxide adsorbent more suitable for use conditions can be provided by adjusting the content ratio of the supported object within a range of 1% by mass to 50% by mass.
The invention described in claim 5 is the carbon dioxide adsorption method according to any one of claims 1 to 4 , wherein the porous substance is activated carbon.
In such a structure , the porous material is made of activated carbon and has a large number of fine pores, so that the object to be supported can be easily supported. And if it is activated carbon , it can obtain easily.
According to the present invention, the supported material supported in the pores of the porous material contains one or both of rubidium carbonate and cesium carbonate, and the carbon dioxide adsorbent having this supported material has a temperature lower than about 130 ° C. If so, carbon dioxide can be adsorbed without cooling even if it is a gas having a temperature higher than 80 ° C. because it has a high carbon dioxide adsorption capacity.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below.
One embodiment of the present invention includes a porous material having fine pores and a supported material supported in the pores, and the supported material includes rubidium carbonate (Rb 2 CO 3 ) and carbonic acid. It is a carbon dioxide adsorbent characterized by containing one or both of cesium (Cs 2 CO 3 ).
The supported material may be composed only of rubidium carbonate or cesium carbonate, or may be composed only of rubidium carbonate and cesium carbonate, but it should only contain at least rubidium carbonate or cesium carbonate.
The rubidium carbonate contained in the supported material may be either an anhydrous salt (Rb 2 CO 3 ) or a hydrated salt (Rb 2 CO 3 .xH 2 O), but in practice, a monohydrate (x = Rb 2 CO 3 .H 2 O that is 1) is preferred. This is because, when rubidium carbonate is supported on the porous material, it can be easily supported by immersing the dried porous material in an aqueous rubidium carbonate solution and drying it. it is mainly carried by a Rb 2 CO 3 · H 2 O , because this way, can be easily manufactured.
This Rb 2 CO 3 · H 2 CO adsorbent having the carried containing the O, when passing the CO 2 containing gas in an atmosphere of at least 130 ° C. or less,
Rb 2 CO 3 .H 2 O + CO 2 → 2RbHCO 3
It is thought that this reaction occurs, so that CO 2 can be adsorbed.
The cesium carbonate contained in the supported material may be either an anhydrous salt (Cs 2 CO 3 ) or a hydrated salt (Cs 2 CO 3 .xH 2 O). 2) Cs 2 CO 3 .2H 2 O is preferred. This is because, when cesium carbonate is supported on the porous material, it can be easily supported by immersing the dried porous material in an aqueous cesium carbonate solution and drying it. Is mainly supported as Cs 2 CO 3 .2H 2 O, which makes it easy to manufacture.
When a CO 2 -containing gas is passed through the carbon dioxide adsorbent having a supported object containing Cs 2 CO 3 .2H 2 O in an atmosphere of at least 130 ° C.,
Cs 2 CO 3 2H 2 O + CO 2 → 2CsHCO 3 + H 2 O
It is thought that this reaction occurs, so that CO 2 can be adsorbed.
And according to such a carbon dioxide adsorbent of the present invention, since it has a high carbon dioxide adsorption ability at a temperature lower than about 130 ° C., it is not cooled even if it is a gas higher than 80 ° C. Carbon dioxide can be adsorbed.
Therefore, when recovering carbon dioxide from exhaust gas from a thermal power plant or factory, even if the exhaust gas (flue gas) temperature is 80 ° C or higher, the exhaust gas is cooled if it is lower than about 130 ° C. This facility is not required and energy loss due to cooling can be reduced.
Furthermore, according to this carbon dioxide adsorbent, the carbon dioxide adsorption capacity hardly decreases even in the presence of water vapor, and no special water vapor removal step is required.
Therefore, a practical carbon dioxide adsorbent that can reduce the carbon dioxide recovery cost by suppressing capital investment and energy loss is provided.
And in order to collect | recover carbon dioxide from the said carbon dioxide adsorbent which adsorb | sucked carbon dioxide, what is necessary is just to detach | desorb carbon dioxide by heating, and can collect | recover easily.
Such desorption of carbon dioxide is
2RbHCO 3 → CO 2 + Rb 2 CO 3 .H 2 O
2CsHCO 3 + H 2 O → CO 2 + Cs 2 CO 3 · 2H 2 O
It is thought that this is caused by the reaction. And, thereby, Rb 2 CO 3 · H 2 O and / or Cs 2 CO 3 · 2H 2 O and can play, can be repeated adsorption and desorption of carbon dioxide.
In addition, when the object to be supported contains a substance other than rubidium carbonate or cesium carbonate, the content ratio of rubidium carbonate and / or cesium carbonate contained in the object to be supported is appropriately within the range where the effects of the present invention are exhibited. Although it can be adjusted, it is preferably 1 mol% or more and 99 mol% or less.
As described above, when the supported object contains 1 to 99 mol% of rubidium carbonate and / or cesium carbonate, the carbon dioxide adsorbent can adsorb carbon dioxide from a high-temperature gas. Furthermore, in this carbon dioxide adsorbent, by adjusting the content ratio of rubidium carbonate and / or cesium carbonate in the range of 1 mol% or more and 99 mol% or less, the temperature of the gas containing carbon dioxide to be adsorbed (CO 2 containing gas) is adjusted. Can be suitable.
That is, if the content ratio of rubidium carbonate and / or cesium carbonate in the supported material is increased, CO 2 adsorption from a higher temperature gas becomes possible. In this case, in order to desorb the adsorbed CO 2 Must be heated to high temperatures. For this reason, by adjusting the content ratio of rubidium carbonate or cesium carbonate in the range of 1 mol% or more and 99 mol% or less and making it suitable for the temperature of the CO 2 -containing gas, the heating energy required for desorption is reduced. Can be suppressed.
Further, the supported object may contain potassium carbonate (K 2 CO 3 ). That is, the supported object may be composed of “a mixture of rubidium carbonate and potassium carbonate”, may be composed of “a mixture of cesium carbonate and potassium carbonate”, and further, “rubbium carbonate and cesium carbonate and It may consist of a “mixture with potassium carbonate”.
The mixing ratio of these mixtures is not particularly limited, but particularly from the viewpoint of easy adjustment, the content of rubidium carbonate or cesium carbonate contained in the supported material is 1 mol% or more and 99 mol% or less. The content of potassium carbonate is 1 mol% or more and 99 mol% or less, or the content of the mixture of rubidium carbonate and cesium carbonate is 1 mol% or more and 99 mol% or less, and the content of potassium carbonate is 1 mol% or more and 99 mol% or less. The following are preferred. That is, in this carbon dioxide adsorbent, in addition to rubidium carbonate and / or cesium carbonate maintaining high adsorption ability up to about 130 ° C., potassium carbonate having high adsorption ability at about 80 ° C. contains 80 ° C. In the above high temperature range, it is easy to adjust the content ratio for obtaining a carbon dioxide adsorbent suitable for the temperature of the CO 2 -containing gas.
In this case, the supported material is composed of a mixture of 10 mol% to 99 mol% of rubidium carbonate and / or cesium carbonate and 1 mol% to 90 mol% of potassium carbonate, and substantially contains only cesium carbonate and potassium carbonate. If it contains, it has a high carbon dioxide adsorption ability even for a CO 2 -containing gas of 80 ° C. or higher, which is suitable for high-temperature exhaust gas and the like.
Furthermore, the content ratio of the supported substance in the carbon dioxide adsorbent containing rubidium carbonate and / or cesium carbonate as described above can be adjusted as appropriate within the range where the effects of the present invention are exhibited. In particular, in order to provide a carbon dioxide adsorbent suitable for use conditions, it is preferable to adjust at 1 mass% or more and 50 mass% or less.
Further, the porous material possessed by the carbon dioxide adsorbent of the present embodiment is not particularly limited as long as it has a large number of fine pores. Preferred examples include activated carbon, zeolite, alumina, Diatomaceous earth is mentioned. That is, activated carbon, zeolite, alumina, and diatomaceous earth are provided with a large number of fine pores, so that the support can be easily supported. And if it is activated carbon, a zeolite, diatomaceous earth, or an alumina, it can obtain easily. The zeolite may be either natural or artificial.
The carbon dioxide adsorbent of the present invention can be used for various applications. For example, the carbon dioxide adsorbent of the present invention is allowed to pass through a gas of about 130 ° C. or less containing water vapor and carbon dioxide. A method for collecting carbon dioxide is conceivable.
That is, in the carbon dioxide adsorbent of the present invention, even when the gas to be passed is at a high temperature of 80 ° C. or higher, a high carbon dioxide adsorption rate can be maintained if the gas is about 130 ° C. or lower. For this reason, if a gas of about 130 ° C. or less containing water vapor and carbon dioxide is passed through the carbon dioxide adsorbent, carbon dioxide can be efficiently collected with a high adsorption rate.
In particular, since the general exhaust gas temperature of a thermal power plant is as high as about 100 ° C., this carbon dioxide collection method reduces energy loss due to cooling and suppresses equipment cost for cooling. be able to.
As a method for recovering carbon dioxide from the carbon dioxide adsorbent that has adsorbed carbon dioxide by such a collection method, for example, carbon dioxide is released by passing steam through the carbon dioxide adsorbent, and the released carbon dioxide. A method of recovering carbon dioxide by cooling a gas containing carbon and liquefying moisture can be considered. Further, as another method for recovering carbon dioxide captured by the carbon dioxide adsorbent of the present invention, the carbon dioxide adsorbent is decompressed to release carbon dioxide, and the gas containing the released carbon dioxide is cooled to obtain moisture. It is conceivable to recover carbon dioxide by liquefying.
Thus, according to the carbon dioxide adsorbent of the present invention, even if it is a gas containing water and a temperature higher than 80 ° C., carbon dioxide can be separated and recovered by fixed bed operation if it is about 130 ° C. or less. Energy loss associated with cooling required when the gas is hot can be reduced.
In particular, when recovering carbon dioxide from exhaust gas (flue gas) from a thermal power plant or factory, even if the exhaust gas temperature is 80 ° C or higher, the exhaust gas is cooled if it is lower than about 130 ° C. No equipment is required, and energy loss due to cooling can be reduced.
Furthermore, according to this carbon dioxide adsorbent, the carbon dioxide adsorption capacity hardly decreases even in the presence of water vapor, and no special water vapor removal step is required.
Therefore, according to this invention, the practical carbon dioxide adsorption | suction method which can suppress a capital investment and energy loss and can reduce a carbon dioxide recovery cost is provided.
An experiment for producing an adsorbent according to the present invention and confirming the effect as a carbon dioxide adsorbent by adsorbing and desorbing CO 2 to the adsorbent was performed as follows.

Further, a

(4) The gas from which moisture was separated was diluted with air at 3 l / min, and the CO 2 concentration was measured with an infrared CO 2 concentration meter 19.
(5) The above operations (1) to (4) were performed for each of the adsorbents II to VIII.
(C) Analysis result of produced carbon dioxide adsorbent Based on the analysis result of chloride of each adsorbent I to VIII, alkali metal carbonate (Rb 2 CO 3 , Cs 2) contained in each adsorbent I to VIII The content (% by mass) of CO 3 and K 2 CO 3 was calculated. The results are shown in Table 1.
Here, the addition rate in Table 1 is a value determined by the mass (g) of each substance added in the production of the adsorbents I to VIII.
Rate of addition = alkali metal carbonate / (activated carbon + alkali metal carbonate) × 100 (%)
The numerical value calculated by is shown.
This makes it easy to immerse activated carbon (porous material) in one or two or more alkali metal carbonate aqueous solutions of Rb 2 CO 3 , Cs 2 CO 3 , K 2 CO 3 and dry them. It was found that the desired alkali metal carbonate can be supported on the pores.
Furthermore, by immersing the dried activated carbon (porous material) in an alkali metal carbonate aqueous solution and drying it, most of the alkali metal carbonate contained in the aqueous solution can be easily supported. For this reason, in this carbon dioxide adsorbent, it is possible to easily adjust the contents of Rb 2 CO 3 , Cs 2 CO 3 , and K 2 CO 3 .
(D) Measurement result of temperature dependence of carbon dioxide capture amount CO 2 adsorption amount (capture amount) is obtained from the breakthrough curve obtained by measuring the CO 2 concentration of the gas passing through the
(1) K 2 CO 3 -supported activated carbon As shown in FIG. 2, the adsorbent X supporting only K 2 CO 3 as a supported material has a CO 2 capture rate of 100% at 80 ° C. At higher temperatures, the CO 2 capture rate decreases.
(2) Rb 2 CO 3 retained activated carbon As shown in FIG. 2, the CO 2 capture rate of the adsorbent I carrying only Rb 2 CO 3 as a supported substance is approximately 100% at 100 ° C. reduction of CO 2 capture rate occurs at temperatures higher than around 130 ° C., the CO 2 capture rate at 200 ° C. was reduced to 50%.
(3) Cs 2 CO 3 -supported activated carbon The temperature dependence of the CO 2 capture rate of the adsorbent II supporting only Cs 2 CO 3 as a supported substance is similar to that of the adsorbent I described above, and is shown in FIG. Thus, at 100 ° C., the CO 2 capture rate was approximately 100%. Then, place a reduction in CO 2 capture rate at temperatures higher than around 130 ° C., the CO 2 capture rate at 200 ° C. was reduced to 50%.
(4) Rb 2 CO 3 · K 2 CO 3 mixture-supported activated carbon As shown in FIG. 3, among the adsorbents carrying Rb 2 CO 3 · K 2 CO 3 mixture, the content ratio of Rb 2 CO 3 is the most With the low adsorbent III, the CO 2 capture rate decreased from about 100 ° C. As the content ratio of Rb 2 CO 3 increases, the decrease start temperature of the CO 2 trapping rate further increases in the order of adsorbent III, adsorbent IV, and adsorbent V, and Rb 2 CO 3 : K 2 CO 3 = 6. In the case of the adsorbent V of 4: 4, the CO 2 capture rate began to decrease at the same temperature (about 120 ° C.) as that of the adsorbent I carrying only Rb 2 CO 3 .
(5) Cs 2 CO 3 · K 2 CO 3 mixture-supported activated carbon In the adsorbent VI supporting the Cs 2 CO 3 · K 2 CO 3 mixture, the CO 2 capture rate starts to decrease around 100 ° C, and K 2 CO It was found that the trapping rate of about 100% was maintained up to about 20 ° C. higher than the adsorbent X carrying only 3 . Thereby, it is estimated that CO 2 can be adsorbed at a higher temperature than the conventional adsorbent carrying K 2 CO 3 .

(B−1)吸着剤I

(B) Experimental results and discussion (B-1) Adsorbent I
For the adsorbent I, the X-ray diffraction patterns obtained by the above (A-1) to (A-3) are shown in FIG.
(1) As shown in L1 of FIG. 4, for the unused adsorbent I that has not been subjected to adsorption / desorption operation, rubidium carbonate monohydrate Rb 2 CO 3 .H 2 O and rubidium hydrogen carbonate RbHCO 3 was detected. Among these, it is considered that RbHCO 3 which is a hydrogen carbonate is produced by the reaction of retained Rb 2 CO 3 with CO 2 in the atmosphere.
(2) As indicated by L2 in FIG. 4, only RbHCO 3 was detected for the CO 2 aeration adsorbent I, and as a result of the capture (adsorption) of CO 2 , Rb 2 CO 3 to Rb HCO as follows: It is estimated that the conversion to

2RbHCO 3 → CO 2 + Rb 2 CO 3 .H 2 O
(B-2) Adsorbent II
FIG. 5 shows X-ray diffraction patterns obtained by the above (A-1) to (A-3) for the adsorbent II.
(1) As shown in M1 of FIG. 5, a peak derived from CsHCO 3 that is a bicarbonate was observed for the unused adsorbent II that was not subjected to adsorption / desorption operation. It is considered that the supported Cs 2 CO 3 was produced by reacting with CO 2 in the atmosphere.
(2) Since only CsHCO 3 was detected for CO 2 aeration adsorbent II as indicated by M 2 in FIG. 5, Cs 2 CO 3 to CsHCO as follows along with the capture (adsorption) of CO 2. It is estimated that the conversion to 3 occurred.
Cs 2 CO 3 2H 2 O + CO 2 → 2CsHCO 3 + H 2 O
(3) As indicated by M3 in FIG. 5, with respect to the He aeration adsorbent II, since Cs 2 CO 3 .2H 2 O was detected, the reverse reaction of CsHCO 3 production that occurs during the above-described CO 2 adsorption, It was confirmed that Cs 2 CO 3 .2H 2 O can be regenerated by the following reaction.
2CsHCO 3 + H 2 O → CO 2 + Cs 2 CO 3 · 2H 2 O
(B-3) Adsorbent V
For the adsorbent V, the X-ray diffraction patterns obtained by the above (A-1) to (A-3) are shown in FIG.
(1) As indicated by N1 in FIG. 6, potassium hydrogen carbonate KHCO 3 was detected for the unused adsorbent V that was not subjected to the adsorption / desorption operation.
(2) As indicated by N2 in FIG. 6, KHCO 3 was detected for the CO 2 aeration adsorbent V. From this, it is presumed that the conversion from K 2 CO 3 to KHCO 3 occurred as follows with the capture (adsorption) of CO 2 .
K 2 CO 3 · 1.5H 2 O + CO 2 → 2KHCO 3 + 0.5H 2 O
(3) As indicated by N3 in FIG. 6, K 2 CO 3 .1.5H 2 O was detected for the He aeration adsorbent V. This is considered due to the following reaction.
2KHCO 3 + 0.5H 2 O → CO 2 + K 2 CO 3 .1.5H 2 O
As a result, it was found that CO 2 can be repeatedly captured and desorbed by the adsorbent V.
(4) In addition, no rubidium salt is detected in any of the diffraction results of the unused adsorbent V, the CO 2 aeration adsorbent V, and the He aeration adsorbent V, and Rb 2 CO 3 or Rb HCO 3 exists as an aqueous solution. It was estimated that.
(B-4) Adsorbent VII
FIG. 7 shows X-ray diffraction patterns obtained by the above (A-1) to (A-3) for the adsorbent VII.
(1) As shown in R1 of FIG. 7, potassium bicarbonate KHCO 3 was detected for the unused adsorbent VII that was not subjected to the adsorption / desorption operation.
(2) As indicated by R2 in FIG. 7, KHCO 3 was detected for the CO 2 aeration adsorbent VII. From this, it is presumed that the conversion from K 2 CO 3 to KHCO 3 occurred as follows with the capture (adsorption) of CO 2 .
K 2 CO 3 · 1.5H 2 O + CO 2 → 2KHCO 3 + 0.5H 2 O
(3) As indicated by R3 in FIG. 7, K 2 CO 3 .1.5H 2 O was detected for the He aeration adsorbent VII. This is considered due to the following reaction.
2KHCO 3 + 0.5H 2 O → CO 2 + K 2 CO 3 .1.5H 2 O
From these, for retaining the potassium salt was, occurred conversion to K 2 CO 3 · 1.5H 2 O from KHCO 3 by the capture of CO 2, by elimination of CO 2 takes place the reverse reaction, K It is estimated that 2 CO 3 .1.5H 2 O is regenerated.
(4) On the other hand, in any of the unused adsorbent VII, the CO 2 aeration adsorbent VII, and the He aeration adsorbent VII, cesium salt is not detected by the X-ray diffraction method, and Cs 2 CO 3 or CsHCO 3 is an aqueous solution. It is estimated that it is held in the pores of the activated carbon.
